This is a very good story about a photojournalist who lost his best friend in Afghanistan, War touches us in many ways as the author shows here you don’t have to be a solider to be a big loser when it comes to war. It is very heartbreaking to lose one of our own who servers and protects but we forget there are others who serve as well to bring us the amazing pictures and stories so we can better understand the true issues. I thought the author did a great job showing how it affect a normal perso

I greatly enjoyed In the Moment by Jennifer Wilck. I've enjoyed Jennifer's titles in the past and this one was a bit different from the others, which made it stand out. Hero Rayne Tucket is haunted by the death of his best friend in Afghanistan. But Rayne is not a soldier - he's a photojournalist, plagued by guilt because his friend died saving his life. Cassie Edwards, a former foster child, has purchased a beautiful Victorian house which holds great sentimental value to her. She hires Rayne to

I really enjoyed getting to read this story.
Rayne was a photojournalist who has seen war and watched his friends die trying to protect him. He carries the weight of their death everyday, never settling in one place for too long and slowly making his way to fulfill a promise he made to his now dead friend.
Cassie has bought the only house she's ever experienced love in, and is now fixing it up for her future family. She's one of those character's that has a chip on her shoulder because of her past ...more

This was my first book by this author and it was a nice read. If you like books that are fovued on one couple and have a lot of details this is for you. While I enjoyed this story I only gave it 4 stars because I found it a bit drawn out for my tastr. Some things like really liked about this story was I like small town books and this book did a good job showcasing the relationship between people in a small town. The main characters Cassie and Rayne we refreshing to read about. Cassie was and ind

This is an OK book - the story is a nice romance in a small town, but is to slow paced. There's nothing to really grab your interest and hold it. Rayne and Cassie are likable characters but there needed to be more background information on them to help understand their past demons more. Then there is a twist in the book where Carl shows up and nothing really happens and then nothing more about him until the end of the book. The ending just abruptly ends - leaving you going is that it? What does

Overall, this is an enjoyable story with likable characters. The story captured the essence of small town living very well. There were a few inconsistencies in the story that pulled me out of what was going on. I found myself going back to make sure I didn’t miss something. Overall, I found this book enjoyable.

A contemporary romance dealing with hurt and healing, “In the Moment” is a sweet story that gives voice to the pain one feels in the face of loss.

This was just an okay read for me. I have conflicted feelings regarding the story as a whole. There were parts that I admired and passages or descriptions that I rather liked and thought had inventive wording. Then there were parts that did not seem to fit with the parts that I did like.
In all it just did not work for me.

Im a little conflicted with this book, it was okay, but i expected more. This is my first book from this author, im not sure if i would read from her again, it would have to really really attract me to it. Anyways this is a story about two people trying to get on with their lives. Cassie is working on rebuilding a house, the only house that she felt like she belonged, and Rayne is a p ...more

Jennifer started telling herself stories as a little girl when she couldn’t fall asleep at night. Her favorite stories to write are those with smart, sassy, independent heroines; handsome, strong and slightly vulnerable heroes; and her stories always end with happily ever after.
