The Suitcase Entrepreneur: Create Freedom in Business and Adventure in Life

Rate this book
Now in its third edition, The Suitcase Entrepreneur teaches readers how to package and sell their skills to earn enough money to be able to work and live anywhere, build a profitable online business, and live life on their own terms. After eight years of working in the soul-crushing bureaucracy of the corporate world, Natalie Sisson quit her high-paying job and moved to Canada, started a blog, and cofounded a technology company. In just eighteen months she learned how to build an online platform from scratch, and then left to start her own business—which involved visiting Argentina to eat empanadas, play Ultimate Frisbee, and launch her first digital product. After five years, she now runs a six-figure business from her laptop, while living out of a suitcase and teaching entrepreneurs worldwide how to build a business and lifestyle they love. In The Suitcase Entrepreneur you’ll learn how to establish your business online, reach a global audience, and build a virtual team to give you more free time, money, and independence. With a new introduction, as well as updated resources and information, this practical guide uncovers the three key stages of creating a self-sufficient business and how to become a successful digital nomad and live life on your own terms.

This is the book I wish I had read before traveling the world for 2 years! I read this book in one whole day while on my honeymoon (sorry not sorry, husband). Natalie shares her wisdom and skills clearly of how you too can establish a freedom lifestyle and business. In her book, she provides tips and technology advice to achieve your dreams of traveling the world, while making money. In my book, Citizen of the World, I advocate for everyone to read the Suitcase Entrepreneur because Natalie shows that nothing is impossible. With hard work, you can live anywhere in the world and live a life of freedom and adventure. Life is not meant to be static and mundane, you can follow your dreams and earn an income. Thank you Natalie for writing this book, and continuing to work really hard with podcasts and other products to help others!

The Suitcase Entrepreneur inspired me to get up and do it!

It challenged me to think of new ways to not only combine my passions, but do it in a way that truly achieves location independence. Understanding the book's tips and getting a heads up on tools to use gives me the confidence when I leave in May to hit the ground running as a digital nomad in South East Asia!

I would recommend this book to anyone who intends to thrive as a digital nomad, and not just simply survive as a digital nomad. if you're looking to not just travel and experience the world, but want to do it on your terms with full freedom and flexibility - this book is for you.

I really liked this book in that it presents the options available for a professional life freed from corporate politics and the dreaded 9 to 5. It is also honest and forthcoming about both the pros and cons of such a life. While I might not be the "digital nomad" (or even interested in being one) I did find tons of useful and relatable information for life as an entrepreneur.
Very easy to read, digest and apply.
