A wintry romance from beach-read favorite Rachel Hawthorne, the author of Love on the Lifts and Snowed In that is perfect to curl up with on a cold night. Great for fans of Stephanie Perkins, Lauren Barnholdt and Susane Colasanti.

Fate has brought Jude, an Australian hunk, right to Alyssa’s door–or rather, couch. In this hilarious tale of long–distance dorm room swaps, Alys

The story itself is pretty good and so are the characters, but the relationship could have been deeper in my opinion.

I really like these fun books by Rachel Hawthorne. This one is a quick read that entertains.

Alyssa is a college freshman who studies a lot and has only had one boyfriend, the one she met the day she moved into her dorm. They haven't really been on a date, just hang out together and kiss. Then winter break arrives and the said boyfriend decides to go couch surfing to Australia. And he conveniently decides to take a break from his relationship with Alyssa right before he leaves. Oh, but don't tel

Before I Read the Book

Because of the title, Suite Dreams, I thought the story was going to be about a group of girls staying at a hotel, possibly at a ski resort or something, and the protagonist meets a cute guy staying in the suite next door or down the hall from them. Not about a dorm room suite, which is admittedly a lot less exciting if you ask me...

Summary of the Story

It's winter break, and Alyssa and her boyfriend Rick decide to take a break from eachother while he travels to Australia co

I'm Aussie and despite some well used terms of Australian slang used in the book, I just dont think I've ever heard anyone refer to the telly (TV) as the box before. I mean we call it telly and yes Oz sounds about right, but sometimes I think that the writer is going OTT in making Jude too Aussie (if there is such a thing). But other than that I liked the story.

Alyssa is sweet and studious, she just found out that her college boyfriend is going on a couch surfing (which by the way is actually a
The story was nothing like I imagined it would be based on the title. I thought it was about a girl who worked at a ski lodge or something. In actuality, the main character Alyssa is a college student staying at the school over winter break so she can take more classes. Her boyfriend has gone to Australia on a couch swapping program and has sent the guy he swapped with to Vermont in his place.

Overall this was pretty cute. I liked how carefree and fun Jude was. He really helped to bring Alyssa o
If you’re looking for an easy read with a simple plot and a cute romance with some tingling moments included, Suite Dreams is the book for you. I don’t have much to say about this, the story is not deep or meaningful or anything like that and the romance is not overwhelmingly beautiful but still, the story was fun. Simply some light reading material, perfect for a summer day on the beach.

Can Jude walk on water? No? He seems to do everything else perfectly so I just thought he could do that too.

The beginning was so funny and I loved it so much until I realized Jude was a perfect guy. Then the eye rolling started.

Needed something to read while my phone was charging, this seemed like a good idea, light and fluffy, the word seemed being a key word. After finishing it I wished I had decided to do anything else but read this.

• The writing was too simple.
• As the pages went by I started to get annoyed because the main male character was so perfect! He did this, he did that. I get that people can be good at more than one, two things, but here it felt too much.
• He decided to go to a cold, snowy country, over

This book was cute for what it was. It was a cheese ball factory with convenient and paper-thin twists, and with diction that felt oddly out of place in a novel set in a State. But Jude was a sweet guy. I did notice a lot of similar phrases used in this book as in the last book I read by this author.

Very, very light summer read.

Happy reading!

Alyssa met Rick at her first semester and they became a couple right away. Their relation ship was comfortable, but then he left her and went on vacation to Australia while she's going to spend her winter break alone.

Although Alyssa recognize she wasn't totally in love with Rick, she still feels bad. She wanted to be like her parents, who found each other at school.

While she's dealing with that, Jude, the sexy Australian guy, comes looking for he

Rachel Hawthorne's books were my gateway drug into reading. As a 7th grader who craved the sizzling romance akin to that found in a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie, Rachel Hawthorne's books were my crack. And so what book do I go for when I haven't feasted on a good love story in a long time and I'm in the mood to swoon? A Rachel Hawthorne book of course! Unfortunately, after ten years of growing up and a creative writing degree later, I just can't be satisfied by this fluff. The story was cute, but ...more

I needed a fluffy, quick read after all the emotions of Kingdom of Ash. It was predictable but cute and definitely an easy read. If you are looking to take your mind off of something and need a story to just wrap itself up with a bow perfectly at the end, this is it!

Another cute and funny read by Rachel Hawthorne. I love the lightness of her stories and the quirkiness of her characters. Coincidentally, it’s freezing outside, so this is a great, fun romance to curl up with with some tea or hot cocoa.

Probably more of a 3.5 star. But I gave it 4 stars just because of how much I enjoyed it! Quick easy romantic winter read. The characters are adorable and fun and they do lots of wintery activities!

‘Suite Dreams’ tells the story of Alyssa who meets an Australian guy, Jude through a couch-swapping activity involving her newly ex-boyfriend Rick. The story itself is completely predictable but the writing helped to make it decent and enjoyable.

Alyssa wasn’t a particularly unique character but she was okay. She’s understandably concerned about what will happen with her relationship with Rick considering that he wanted to take a break from it. She’s also the serious, non-spontaneous type who has

This book sounded really cute when I first heard of it! Plus, after her Dark Guardians series, I am a huge fan of Rachel Hawthorne's -- I just can't believe it took me so long to pick this up!

Straight off, I liked Alyssa. She actually reminded me a lot of me, actually, in the way that she studies obsessively for school. I loved her bravery (even though she didn't see it) and her attitude towards everything. Her voice sounded really genuine, and I loved that she sounded like she could have been o
I was pretty much hooked with this from beginning to end. And when I got to the ending, I needed more. The story's so cute and sweet and a little addicting. I wish it was longer.

I LOVE their first meeting. Lol. It's just refreshing from the gawk-jaw-drop-the-world-just-stopped-revolving first meetings which are quite rampant now. I also love how they became friends, although there was attraction but i think the characters were given time to actually warm up to each other before the snogging. Yes

Abso-bloody-lutely amazing! This was a very cute little story about Alyssa, or "Lys" and a hot Aussie named Jude.

Crikey! I don't know what to say. This was too cute for words, literally. These little books are so fun to read! Remember, don't take them seriously, they're meant to be ridiculous and funny and corny. Ah, remember all that corn I talked about in the other 'cutsie' books like this? Well, this is no exception. Indeed, this was CORNY! Don't you just love corn?

Who hasn’t dreamed of a hot Australian just showing up on their doorstep? I’d probably freak out and think he was a murderer or something because that doesn’t really happen in today’s world (at least not in mine). I’m also wondering, is couch surfing a real thing? According to google, it is. There’s even a website (!

Suite Dreams was a pretty quick (133 pages on the Nook) read that left me wanting more. No, it didn’t have a cliffhanger,

Frustration is what I feel. Great book, was going so well.. loved the whole thing.. and then I read the ending.. or rather lack thereof. I just wish that she had written a proper ending, or a fuller ending. It felt rushed and sudden. It also felt a bit up in the air. I wanted to know how they would make their relationship work, and what happened between her and Rick. Does Rick stay in Australia? Or does he want her back? Or what! Ahhhh feelings of being unsatisfied.. really doesn't sit well with ...more

Things you should never do that involve a new guy:

* Never fall for the guy the very first day at your very first university, and then hang out with him constantly.
* Never allow him to think it would be best to go on a break.
* Never let him leave, during the break of the relationship, to go to Australia. There is no possible way that things will work out!
* Never act coy about the whole situation - get him to talk since he's

This book is light and romantic. I liked it alright.

Ofcourse I loved the hot Aussie by the name of Jude. He's funny and adventurous and sweet. And oh, he has an Australian accent. That's hot, eh? I love his humor and I love that he's smart but at the same time, he can be easy going. He's a kind of a perfect guy. If a guy who's into studying is a turn on for you, then he's definitely a go-go. Though you won't see that side of him here.

And Alyssa, though I prefer to call her Lys too, is

My Thoughts: Another cute book! I totally love reading Rachel Hawthorne and this was the one I have been looking forward to most! It was so cute! I liked the whole idea of a guy coming and sleeping on her couch. Its always the weirdest ways people fall in love. Especially when they least expect it or want it. I like reading about the mysterious ways love works. This was a pretty fast read but I enjoyed each and every page of it. I felt her boyfriend who arranged the couch swapping was a little b ...more

OK... here's the thing. If you're looking for a book that is going to go all psychological and deep, Rachel Hawthorne books just aren't for you. With that being said, while I love books that do go psychological and deep, it is nice to read a book just for the enjoyment of reading and getting a good story-- and that is exactly what Rachel Hawthorne writes. Suite Dreams is little different. It's romantic and sweet and a quick read! What is different in this book from her other books, though, is th ...more

I loved Jude and Alyssa, they were real people thrown in a unrealistic but cool environment. The situation might not have been realistic but the fact that you should take time out of your schedule and just have fun was made very clear. It was difficult for Alyssa to realize that she didnt always just do homework, there should be time for breaks. Also, taking new things as they come is really important as well, without complaining maybe life would be a little bit better for all of us. I was reall ...more

Ok throwing this one out there! I am pretty crappy at reviews so here it goes.

Rachel Hawthorne captures what every girl wants in a guy in her leading male character in this book. So needless to say if your a romantic type you will love this book.

The characters are well done. So through the book you aren't sitting there hating them!

The scenes are well done as well.

And I am sorry for you people who rated this book below a three because this book was very easy to follow, well written, fun, roman
