Do you ever read a book and just know it would be an awesome movie? The characters are larger than life and they’re screaming to be brought to life and you’re silently casting said movie in your head? That’s exactly what happened while I was reading this one, this would be the cutest romantic comedy movie, but it was also a super fun read.

As a reader, you know that the whole idea of swapping mates is a disaster waiting to happen, but that’s part of what made this so entertaining. Robyn was my fa

In this super cute romance with lots of my favorite tropes, two friends decide to switch boyfriends for the holidays (yay, Christmakkah!) because they are convinced their respective parents will hate the boyfriend they are actually dating and they don’t feel like dealing with the drama. As one might guess, things don’t turn out quite the way they plan! I wound up connecting with one couple more than the other (one was a case of serious crushing from high school, so when they have to “Fake date” ...more

ARC received by the Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It has been my first book by author Meredith Schorr and it was pure entertainment from beginning to end. Much recommended and not only for the Holidays.

The two main characters are Robyn and Sidney, women in their late twenties & much put-upon by their parents when it comes to potential boyfriends to bring home for the upcoming Christmas/Chrismukkah.

Meredith Schorr has put together a story that would merit being a Hallmark Christmas Special. Sidney is a lawyer only interested in billable hours. Robyn shares her love of music and theater with her students. Both of these women have boyfriends that share the same interests as they enjoy. SO... WHY do they not want to take them home for their family Christmas?? Will is a lawyer and Perry is an actor. Family pressure to find the perfect love interest forces these women to pursue a swap in guys t ...more

Robyn and Sydney are similar in many ways. They are both successful in their careers. Robyn is a music teacher and Sydney is a lawyer. They both have boyfriends that are very attractive. They also both don't want to take the boyfriends home with them for the holidays. For Robyn, her family is tired of seeing her with artsy men who have no future. For Sydney, she is tired of her father monopolizing the holiday with shop talk. The holidays are supposed to be fun, not judgmental and hostile. So, ev ...more

Through a happy coincidence, Meredith Schorr and I discovered we had a mutual friend (my father, nonetheless)! I got to know Meredith a bit and she offered me the opportunity to read and review her forthcoming novel, The Boyfriend Swap. As an avid reader, I was happy to do so, but I was nervous, this was such a personal connection - what if I didn't like it? What would I tell her? Luckily, this was a problem I did not encounter as The Boyfriend Swap was adorable and enjoyable from start to finis ...more

The first paragraph in the synopsis completely captured my attention--Hallmark? Holiday romances? And of course, you know a swap can only mean disaster, but sometimes it's a good thing and it sure is entertaining to see it all unfold.

Robyn and Sidney couldn't be more different and the same goes for their boyfriends, Perry and Will. I loved seeing their characters come to life and watching their interactions, wondering how they would all manage to pull this charade off and it was hilarious how i

I’ve enjoyed every book Meredith Schorr has ever written, so even if she hadn’t told me what The Boyfriend Swap would be about, I’d read it just because she wrote it. It’s just a bonus that the concept was clever and would pave the way for many amusing situations. It made me think of a book called The Great Mom Swap that I read as a kid. However, this one had a more romantic element to it!

Can you imagine switching boyfriends for a Holiday weekend just to meet your parents? What do you think would happen? This is the premise for "The Boyfriend Swap" by Meredith Schorr.   The genres for "The Boyfriend Swap" are Fiction and Women's Fiction.

I appreciate the way Meredith Schorr weaves her entertaining tale. I found this to be delightful and at times humourous.

I am a huge fan of Meredith Schorr. I have loved each and every book that she has written. When I learn that she has a new book out my expectations are high, after all, she is one of my all time favorite authors. The Boyfriend Swap didn't only live up to my expectations it exceeded it. The novel was impossible to put down. The only reason it took me two sittings to finish it was because I had to leave the house. This was adorable. Meredith Schorr has given us a book with a perfect blend of romance, entertainment and fun.

Our two main female characters cannot be further apart in personality. As are our two male characters. Sidney is a workaholic who is so competitive she can’t stop and it seeps into her personal life. She needs control and is quite driven. She always gets what she wants because she relentlessly goes after it until she gets it. Robyn is sweet and kind. She has compassion and empathy for ev

A clever premise, interesting, multi-layered characters, romantic sparks of all kinds, and countless LOL moments make The Boyfriend Swap a must-read!

Workaholic lawyer Sidney Bellows and music teacher Robyn Lane are dreading the holidays for different reasons. Sidney thinks if she brings the successful boyfriend she's been keeping secret home to meet her conservative, goal-oriented parents, they will try to hurry the two of them down the aisle while Robyn is sure her folks will continue to disap

A quick, fun and relaxing read. As some other reviewers mentioned, the premise was preposterous, but ultimately, it worked really well. I adored Robyn (and her parents!), and Will (of course). As for Sidney and Perry, I spent the better part of the book disliking both of them quite wholeheartedly, but it turned out the author did have a good plan for them (they did some growing up in the end) and I felt really satisfied with how everything was wrapped up. This was an absolutely adorable and fun read. What do you get when two women decide to swap boyfriends for the holidays just to make their parents angry? A disaster waiting to happen. It's obvious how the story is going to end here but it's the journey to that end that makes this a fun one. There's a lot of tropes that weave throughout this story and I liked it. Firstly, fake dating is always the BEST. Then you've got hate at first sight and butting heads with Perry and Sidney. Will and Robyn ha ...more

This book is SO stinking fun! When you start this…don’t plan on doing anything else until you get to the last delicious page.

Robyn and Sidney meet at a women’s only “wine party” and after many beverages, they commiserate about their dread of the upcoming holidays. They both have fantastic boyfriends. It’s their families that are the problem.

Christmas time is just around the corner and for two New Yorkers Robyn and Sidney, instead of looking forward to taking home their boyfriends for Christmas they are dreading it. What a fantastic book to binge read. I started this on a slow day at work (shh!), thinking I would read a few lines and continue on for the next couple days, as is my normal routine. Well, I must say, this book just sucked me right in like my favorite romcom. The Boyfriend Swap is joyfully written to play like a movie in your head. I loved this book! It was so cute and made me laugh out loud in some spots.

Anne Marie is roommates with Robyn and her boss is Sidney. She invites Sidney to her wine party and during the course of their discussions, it comes up that neither Robyn nor Sidney want to take their boyfriends home for Christmas. Robyn is sure her family will give her a hard time because she's dating an artist and not a professional man. Sidney is sure her lawyer father will not let her lawyer boyfriend alone. Enough wi

I had purchased this e-book a while ago and decided to begin reading on a Sunday afternoon while the baby was napping.

I love Meredith Schorr's books and, I'll be up front and honest, I love her, too. Over the past few years, I've read all of her novels, have met her in person twice, and have emailed and messaged her countless times. I might be a bit biased but if you know me you'll also know that I'll be honest with my review even though I consider Meredith a friend. So when I say I adored The Boyfriend Swap it's because it really is another fantastic read from Schorr.

The entire premise of The Boyfriend Swap book is, of course, crazily far-fetched. I liked this book, but I don't really feel the need to review it... It was a fun read, but pretty shallow/fluffy. And it's hard to write a review without any spoilers!!

So I'll settle with just saying, I like Robyn, she is like a Disney Princess and her nickname of Snow White is very fitting. She's described as looking like Selena Gomez with blue eyes and I could totally picture that. I also love her zany family an
