Idk what possessed me to stop with book one of this series years ago but baby better late than never because a time was had with Lorenzo and Renee!
Renee was not my favorite at all especially after being plum dumb behind her husband in book one. She allowed her husband to moonwalk all over her and then throw that thang in reverse. After turning a Stevie Wonder eye to her husband’s infidelity over the years, all it took was a side baby to finally knock some sense into her.
You would think that medical degree would’ve had her using her brain but it’s clear she was paid to deliver babies and not think. After crossing paths with foine 🍑 Lorenzo she was a goner and it was Robert who?!
I LOVED me some Lorenzo!!! I mean who wouldn’t fall head over heels for a former king pen turned romance author 🤭 The man oozed BDE and bathed in it daily! After gathering Robert by the collar, he had me ready to risk it all!!
These two were a 4 piece extra spicy and I was here for all of the shenanigans! This was an almost perfect read and I highly doubt that Nicki will be able to top her sis and her lover! 4.5⭐️s

I was more excited about Renee's story and it did not disappoint! I'm so glad Renee got rid of that ugly azz husband of hers and finally found her happily ever after! She and Zo were beyond adorable. Their courtship is everything all females want in a relationship. This story line was fun and easy with so many LOL moments that had me almost falling out my bed. Believe in Me was the ultimate black romance!

I’m surprised by how much I loved this book considering Renee’s behavior in the first book but I’m glad she got rid of that good for nothing husband and grew a backbone.
Renee and Lorenzo were such an adorable couple.

It’s so strong and consuming and sometimes, I love you so much I feel like I’m gonna lose my mind, but I don’t want it to change. I want to be just as passionate about you in fifty years as I am today, but I have to admit it makes me a little crazy, and the thought of losing you…it’s too much for me. Way too much. That shit makes it hard for me to even breathe.”
SWOON!!! 🥰 how is a former drug dealer this sweet and adorable? Every girl deserves a Lorenzo.

I was really enjoying the beginning of this book and how Renee was in the middle of a divorce and meets Lorenzo and they immediately hit it off. Renee doesn't want to move on while she's still married, though, and Lorenzo is pretty patient with her. As far as the plot goes, though, I wasn't a fan of the pacing. Lorenzo and Renee are officially together about halfway through the book, which I don't like in my romances. I wasn't a fan at all of the third act break up conflict and was surprised Lorenzo had kept that secret for the months they were together. These two characters just didn't communicate and it blew up in their faces. So while the beginning was good, it lost my interest as the story went on.

I really enjoyed listening to Believe in Me and I'm so glad that Renee got rid of her lying and cheating husband. Surprisingly, this was a little darker than I expected, with a hero who has a murky past... that's not completely in his past. I found it a little confronting that Lorenzo could so easily slip back into intimidation and threats. They weren't against the heroine, so it wasn't all bad.
There were emotional ups and downs which I've come to expect in Alexandria House's stories. Communication is the key and it takes a wee while for both Lorenzo and Renee to be on the same page.
As I said above, a little bit darker than I expected but I still enjoyed the journey. Will I go on? I don't think so. Nicole's character is a little too comfortable with cheating on her boyfriends and is very focused on getting herself a 'Sugar Daddy'. I'm sure she will come good by the end, but I don't think I'm the right audience for her journey to happy ever after.

3.5 Stars for Zo & Renee
The Renee in this book was decidedly less pathetic than the woman in book 1. I don’t think the author really explained why she let Robert treat her so abominably in the first book and ten years of their marriage. Here, Renee was a solid business woman and had a decent sense of self. It felt like two different people even though it had only been a year.
Lorenzo was definitely a great match for a woman who needed to feel like she was wholly loved and cherished. He was vocal and showered her with gifts to express how much he admired Renee.
For a woman who had been taken for granted for so long, Lorenzo’s actions showed what his priorities laid. He worshipped her body and I loved that this full figured woman was getting hers regularly. Very sexy scenes! It was a good read.
I’m a bit a afraid to read this sister Nicole’s book. It will be full of drama and wishy-washy behavior.

This is the love Journey of Renee and Lorenzo (Zo). as usual Alexandria house has turned up in a serious way! I thoroughly enjoyed her characters. everyone has a past some are hard to overcome but when you do and someone believes in you....nothing can stop you! Five I believe in you stars!

Lorenzo was soo smoth. All it took was a gentle touch from her and he was a gonner. He pursued Renée relentlessly until he essentially wore her out. I enjoyed getting to know Renée and Lorenzo. There isn't much to say about this story. They're highly compatible and their sex drive was crazy. There are some real lol moments in the book, especially among the sisters. Their parents ridiculous. Hotmess. There was a little drama I wish would've been more developed but, the story was still enjoyable. The story did drag a bit towards the middle.
Nicky is a mess and she stresses me out lol. I can already tell she's gonna give me a headache. I'm a little hesitant diving into her story. I gotten to know her a bit in her sisters' stories and she was a lot. I wanna get to know her more in the next installment cause I wanna why Nicky is the way she is. I liked Renee story a bit more than her sister Angie story.
With her husband cheating on her she's had enough and wants an divorce.
Mysterious guy Lorenzo has his eyes on Renee from the first time he met her.
They relationship has some up and down. Their pasts pops up here and there but they love keeps them going.

3 1/2 "Much Better" Stars!
I liked this one and I am super happy Renee found a better man. And I'm happy to met Lorenzo. Apparently I'm reading some series out of order, but I love how interconnected Ms. House's series are. Now on to Nicole. I think it might hurt a little. Happy reading!

I Believe I want to yell the ABC's backwards after Sex!
Lorenzo made a huge splash in this story from the onset. I liked the way the author had readers initially think that he was a dirty old man... I laughed out loud at the heroines initial reaction to Lorenzo. Mr tall dark and fine was the real deal. This story was fun, and easy with moments that had me belly laughing and slapping my knees. Renee was a Midwife sent to deliver a baby at a Mansion in town for a young teen when she met Lorenzo and his bodyguard man giant Tyrrell. Renee ran her own Midwifery clinic with her friend Cass. This birthing was a new client. Here's the story... It had been one year since Renee left her serial cheater husband after he had a baby with his fling. If you'll recall the girlfriend dropped the baby off with Renee to babysit while she went to work. This happened in the previous book. Needless to say this was the last hoorah for the infidelity king. Thankfully after Renee took her butt out of her brain, it was past time to move on. When Renee met Lorenzo she realized Lorenzo was quite a catch. Even though she fought the attraction tooth and nail, she finally acquiesced. The fun parts of the story included the sisters getting together to talk about their men. Angie and Nicky were too much fun.. The story was fun, enjoyable and unconventionally funny. Thirty something's rarely get to have a chance to get their groove on. Its all about young love. Well, us older folks like to hear about us finding love. With that said, man ole man...The chemistry with Lorenzo and Renee had me slapping my own butt and pulling my hair... The sensual moments were grade A.... The back story with the parents and the potential for a hot steamy session with Damon and Nicole adds fuel to the fire for the next installment. I am ready for the next Strickland to find her HEA... Or at least a nice roll in the hay!!!!

There was an extra layer of depth with this sister's story
Lorenzo (Street) Higgs made this story. He had a whole background that would have made this one more. I would have loved to see more of that story, but what I got was enough to raise the level of Renee's story. Renee was a woman that worked hard in life, love, and just being. She never would have guessed that she would find love, strength, and fortitude.
I loved Renee when she was in her sister's story. I was lured in by the scene created with her and her husband. I am delighted to find that some time has passed and she has become stronger. I love that she found a man that was worth her.

So I'm going to be honest, I was nervous about Renee's story, starting out she just wasn't my favorite Strickland sister. It didn't seem like she had much of a back bone, I mean I hate to judge her but it was hard watching the way she let that trifling husband of hers treat her.
Thank God this started off with her giving zero F's and getting herself together! And Lorenzo....he is a breath of fresh fine air! They are so amazing together and this story is fire!

Enjoyed reading this 2nd installment concerning Zo & Renee's love story. While at times their relationship seemed rocky, their love for each other smoothed it out. Great characters and content. Nicely written

The only thing Renee wants is to be divorced from her no good cheating husband and get on with her life. Being a midwife, she gets to meet all kinds of people all over the area. When she first meets Lorenzo, she is helping his sister give birth. She doesn't think much of it, until she sees him again in her office and she just can't get him out of her head after that. But she is still married even though she hasn't lived with her husband in months. He's making it very difficult to finalize this divorce and making it harder for Renee to move on with her life. Will she be able to have the life she deserves with a man who will treat her right?

GoodRead.....Reading these types of novels back2back might not B such a good idea BCuz the premise or template can have too close of similarities and find yourself feeling like you’ve read the same story with a different cast, But House might B an exception BCuz she has proven 2B extremely romantically sweet N her writings at times while other times she is hilariously idyllic, this read being the latter, any read that makes Mi laugh is a winner.

Needless to say, it was the straw the broke the camel's back. Finally leaving him and after being separated for a year, files for divorce and ready to get on with her life as a free woman.
Lorenzo "Zo" Odell Higgs is a successful author that is killing the Urban game. He is a multimillionaire and pretty much a recluse, Zo sits in his writing cave and creates mastery that has allowed him to live a great life, take care of his mom and his sister. Zo has his own personal driver/friend Rell, so he is pretty content until he lays eyes on Renee who helped to deliver his sister's baby. Zo didn't know what hit him but he knew it was Renee and was determined to know her.
Renee and Zo go on an emotional and intense rollercoaster, that takes the readers on an incredible ride one that you will not soon forget anytime soon. Nobody is perfect, Renee and Zo both had their issues and their struggles, both didn't even know they were exactly what they needed from each other.
Oftentimes people will allow their past hurts to dictate and drive their futures. All the while completely missing out on the blessings that are right outside of their door, forfeiting everything because fear has kept them locked in, and living destructive and hurtful lives, not only to themselves but to others.
I love Renee and Zo, they have such great chemistry and balances each other out. I was rooting for them from the time they met LOL!!
Little sister Nicole Strickland is the final book in this series and let me tell you, this chick is a mess and a riot LOL!!! And I am looking forward to closing out this amazing trilogy called, "The Strickland Sisters."

Renee and Zo go on an emotional and intense rollercoaster, that takes the readers on an incredible ride one that you will not soon forget anytime soon. Nobody is perfect, Renee and Zo both had their issues and their struggles, both didn't even know they were exactly what they needed from each other.
Oftentimes people will allow their past hurts to dictate and drive their futures. All the while completely missing out on the blessings that are right outside of their door, forfeiting everything because fear has kept them locked in, and living destructive and hurtful lives, not only to themselves but to others.
I love Renee and Zo, they have such great chemistry and balances each other out. I was rooting for them from the time they met LOL!!
Little sister Nicole Strickland is the final book in this series and let me tell you, this chick is a mess and a riot LOL!!! And I am looking forward to closing out this amazing trilogy called, "The Strickland Sisters."

This book tried to do lots of things all at once and I find the execution to be just okay. There's a lot of character arcs and plot points in here that the author could've explored more, but what we got is kind of a summary of what happened to those things. Renee and Lorenzo was a mess and I hated their third act conflict with that miscommunication thing. I could see the potential of this book to be much more than a 3 star read, but unfortunately, the execution was kind of all over the place.

The good girl always liking bad boys!
I loved Zo and Nay story from the beginning. Hot as hell, honey the heat between them was off the charts. Honey I was so in love with them both finding love, because they both need real love and deserved it. Renee ex did her so wrong in their ten year marriage is not funny. So when Zo come after her she don't even believe he really could want her, he way too good looking.

Hooray for Renee and Zo!
I thought I fell in love with Angie and Ryan but Renee and Zo's love story was amazing! I love that after trying everything to keep a failed marriage together she was willing to try love with someone who had a colorful and traumatic past. They were able to heal each other's pain by loving each other unconditionally. Side note: I want to whoop Angelo behind though because he has royally screwed up his daughters!

I liked the characters (for the most part) and enjoyed their love story, but this one wasn't as fun as the first one. I didn't enjoy the games Zo played with Renee during the beginning of their relationship and the third-act plot twist was a bit out of left field for me. Still, mostly a fun read. I really liked watching Renee rise up above her past hurt.

Whew I didn't know if I would love this story, but I did! The drama between her ex was so messy, but Lorenzo was the man of the hour who GOT IT DONE! I could read about Lorenzo all day, every day!
