Very, very basic book. I know that these are entry level primers for very young kids, but I worry that things are oversimplified. I guess I just need to make sure that I get books that are also more advanced, too.

Some Kids are Blind is a book about kids who are blind. Blind people are born blind or an illness or injury makes them blind. Blind people rely on their hearing. To communicate they talk, but they also use Braille. Braille is used to read signs and books and they can also send emails using Braille. While children may use a cane to walk around, adults are seen with a guide dog.

I did not mind this book. It informed me on people who are blind.

I would put this book in my classroom library for the students to read and relate to if they come across someone who is blind.

SOME KIDS ARE BLIND is a short and easy book for most ages to understand. This would be a great book for an adult to read to a child who is about to meet a blind person.

Great basic intro to the concept of being blind. Would be a good waiting room book for a facility where kids could learn a little while waiting for an appointment.
