Christian Bend by Karen Spears Zacharias is an extraordinary and unforgettable story set in in the hills of East Tennessee. It's a beautiful story of community, family secrets, love and redemption. Christian Bend is a small town in eastern Tennessee where the author spent part of her childhood, and in her novel, Zacharias pens a small and quiet love letter to the town of her youth.

Touching on diverse themes, this is a tangled story about family tragedy, long-buried secrets, the culture of the Appalachian people, abusive relationships, the increase of drug use in small town America, the life-changing discovery of a lifetime of lies, the struggles of the differently abled, and the question

The trilogy of Christian Bend comes to a satisfying and meaningful end as the characters ruminate on and grapple with forgiveness, addiction and its fallouts, and PTSD. The conclusion finds that rare balance between uplifting, redemptive, and earned. Altogether, this series is an extended story well told.
