This is Japanese novel, dealing with Edo Period around 200 years ago. The main character is a lady, who was taken to Yoshiwara, famous prostitute town at her age of 9, and she gets through a lot of hardships and everything around the life. It dramatically describe the life of prostitute in Edo period. Tough, but fun to read.
