Oh my, the hero was the Bane of my desire! Such a sexy, sexy alpha. I love shifters, and really enjoyed the way they were portrayed here. The hierarchy and the conflict with between hyenas and lions, as well as the unrest among lions of different classes was so well done.

The relationship between Bane and Holly had a lot to overcome, (class, his fur color, his lineage, his womanizing reputation, his job, her father, expectations of pretty much everyone) but desire was never a problem. The steam a

I thought this novella was a fun and sexy story with an interesting twist to the typical shifter romance.

In a world where shifters are living in a hierarchy system, there is bound to be internal struggles between classes. When Holly, a lioness and the daughter of a high-ranking Parliamentary executive, gets word that her brother Fix has gone AWOL from his military shifter unit, she knew something wasn't adding up. Determined to find her brother, Holly confronts Commander Bane Ojore, a rare gray

This story had me hooked from the moment I read the synopsis to the very last page. The shifter element was executed flawlessly making it easy to believe I had been placed in the middle of a lion and hyena feud. While the story line was fiction it was relatable with an intelligent overlap of the power structure we often see in the world today. The dynamic between the characters was effortless and each character played well off each other making me love them all from the main to the minor. Last b ...more

When lioness shifter Holly Ainram’s brother goes missing from the military, she seeks answers from Bane Ojore of the lions’ elite force fighting against their enemies, the hyenas. Bane tries to keep his distance from Holly, who belongs to the highest lion caste, but is unable to resist her.

There’s a lot of heat in this paranormal shapeshifter erotic romance. I liked the chemistry between Bane and Holly. He’s all alpha, but a total “goner” as soon as he meets her. I liked the involvement of class

I recieved a copy of this book free for an honest review.. I give honest reviews anyways.. :)
First off I LOVE shifter books! And this one was a bit different than the usual shifter books, 1. it was about lion/ hyena shifters 2. it went into more details about the lions/ hyena castes. The book when I started reading it went very quick, it pulled me in right away. I finished the book a couple hours after I had started. The details that Kira had in the book were great her book was more about love a

This is an exciting read. The author has created a complete world of lion and hyena shifters, where the lions are supreme and the first caste are superior to the other lions. Class differences always lead to conflict and the author has made the most of that in this story. Holly and Bane have a contentious and passionate relationship with a brewing war in the background, all of which combine to keep the reader on the edge of her seat.

My first lion shifter...and it made me purrrrrr. This one captured me and I read it in one sitting. Just didn't want to put it down. Enjoyed the characters. I especially loved how strong and independent Holly was. Bane was rather yummy. His alpha way was almost as sexy as his description. Interesting concept with basically a turf war between the lions and the hyenas.

ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

Much more interesting than a typical erotic romance because the plot is strong and story is great. Holly and Bane might be shape shifters, but the complexity, conflict, and passion reflect true human experience as the two lovers dare to cross social boundaries to be together. Engaging characters engaging in lots of hot sex make this a fun read. I really hope there will be more books in this series.

I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did writing it. Please note that this book contains racy scenes with graphic language that may be offensive to delicate readers, but there is no BDSM or kink. And if it turns out that Bane of Her Desire is not your cup of tea, by all means, find a book that is!

Happy reading. :) Kira

I was honored to be asked to read this in beta testing. Soooooo happy to it's been published. Kira Shayde wrote an entertaining, sexy, not typical paranormal book. Thoroughly enjoyed it, hope others do too!

This is my first time to read a book in the paranormal shapeshifter genre and I really enjoyed this book. The story moved at a quick pace, the heat was there too. I want to know more about Fix and about Caryn. Possibles sequals?
I received a copy of this short story in exchange for a honest review. I was very pleased with this read. The author did a great job of incorporating an interesting storyline with sexual heat within a 100 page story. Wonderful quick read!

What a fun and very well written story!

This is a world where people have become the beasts they act like. Holly, the beautiful tawny lioness is the main character and a first caste vixen. She's a very amiable character, strong and sexy and stands in defiance of a societal system that puts people/lions in less than advantageous positions. But hang their rules for she wants and takes the Black Lion, Bane, for herself. He is forbidden fruit in their world, rare and dangerous, and though he is free
Shayde waste no time in bringing in the HOT and HEAVY scenes in this book. This book is full plenty sexy scenes and the chemistry between the main characters is intense from the start to the end. Holly is a strong female character that I would love to be like while Bane is fierce and dominate in a way that strong females need. Their story is very quick moving. There is a very well established society in place and plenty of conflict to round out the story line. Is where the author left me wanting ...more

Was given an arc for honest review. I started this series backwards. Read the second one first. Now I understand the politics and heirarchy within each pride, pack etc. i enjoyed the book, just wished it was a little longer and more in depth into this new world. Great potential for a new series. And I do love me some shifters!

Kira Shayde writes about animal magnetism and intrigue, where the heroes bring the heat and the heroines save the day. As a paranormal romance writer, Kira explores somewhat atypical pairings and settings and can’t help adding a twinge of societal awareness to her works, but the focus is always on the developing romance, passion, and happy endings. While some of her books are erotic romances, you ...more
