Jumping in with both feet, I thrust myself into the Veiled Magic series with no previous experience with this world. That being said, I unequivocally loved it!

Donata is a witch and has a way with old god connections. She is asked by her ex-lover/shifter friend, Magnus, to come to his home and solve two mysteries. The first is the disappearance of their god Odin, he has not shown up when they’ve called for assistance and the second is injuries and hauntings of past loved ones that have been occu

I struggled a little with the second book, in part because she was juggling three possible suitors. I was excited to see Donata has grown from those experiences and is much more confident about who she is without losing her snarky, kickass attitude.

Magnus, a previous lover whom she has never really taken seriously as a mate, comes to her for help. It seems the God Odin has abandoned his Ulfhednar shapechangers community and that ghosts are appearing without speaking before those facing the ULF t

A shape-shifting berserker, a revenge seeking Anemoi, a strong arming Council, and a ghostly mystery welcome Donata, the witch cop to the backwoods of Maine. Can it get more exciting than that? Oh course it can and does...

Veiled Enchantments is book three of the urban fantasy- suspense Veiled Magic series. Like must urban fantasy, this one doesn't work well out of order since it follows one lead character's story through the books and builds on the plot that came before it.

Veiled Enchantments by Deborah Blake is the 3rd book in her Veiled Magic series. Donata Santori, our heroine in this series, is a witch, who talks to the dead, and a police officer. She is coming off of a difficult case, when Magnus (shapechanger), her ex boyfriend returns to ask for her help. She hasn’t seen him since he went home to Maine to rekindle with his family. Now Magnus needs Donata’s help, since he and his fellow Ulfhednar’s are being haunted by the dead during their training. He tell ...more

I adore this series. Veiled Magic is an urban fantasy series detailing the adventures of witch-cop Donata Santori. In this installment, Donata travels to a tight-knit Ulfhednar (shapechanger) community in Maine at the behest of her ex Magnus. According to Magnus, members of the community’s elite trainees are being haunted by the ghosts of their dead loved ones. Additionally, the Ulfhednar clan has been seemingly abando

Magnus shows up on Donata's door asking for help and although she is apprehensive she accompanies him to Maine.

I honestly don't have a whole lot of feedback when it comes to VEILED ENCHANTMENTS. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but most of what I have to say would spoil things for someone and nobody wants that. I thought Donata was appropriately apprehensive when it came to Magnus after everything she has already been through. I felt the storyline really highlighted the mysteries while also focusing on

More than a little time has passed since I’ve read a book by Ms. Blake, and I am sorry for that. This book was fantastic! She’s one of those authors I forget about, then read one and think why did I stop reading books by this great author? I must say upfront that I didn’t realize this book was part of a series when I started it. However, I didn’t have any problems knowing what was going on and enjoying every minute. I do admit at times I felt like I really wished I had read the previous two but ...more

I didn’t really love the second book in the Veiled Magic series. I just didn’t feel as connected to peter as Magnus, and found him to be a bit of a pain in the butt. It didn’t help that I wasn’t in the mood to read an ebook. But Veiled Enchantments completely redeemed this series for me. It was a fantastic ending to the trilogy and just thoroughly enjoyable. I love how it ends with this feeling of things working out, but still the potential for a lot of mayhem and nonsense in the future…

The last book was mystery and magic detective with a side of dragon-hunk. This book had more of a high fantasy feel as Deborah Blake whisked us off to Ulfhednar country--land of the berserkers! How cool is that? Very.

Donata is a Witch who chats up ghosts. No biggie. Just solving crimes and cracking mysteries by talking to the dead.
Um. Wow!
Magnus is a big lovable bear. Growls. Sure, the dude is an alpha-type Shapeshifter, but he is man enough to let Nata work her magic.

Another winner from Deborah Blake

Deborah, I love your writing. Your characters are so richly developed and easy to love. They feel like old friends, whether Baba Yagas, witch-cops, shapeshifters or no-longer riders. Sorry this isn't really a review as much a large "atta girl." Thank you for allowing me to see inside your imagination.

Great story. Donata, Magnus, Grimle (Magnus's hometown in Maine), the Major Anemoi, all the other paranormal groups and the problems people cause for each other all make for a terrific read. I'm ready for the next in the series (I hope!). ...more

This was just ok. It’s part of their story. I’m just not sure how consistent any of the characters were. He walked out on her. They’d broken up over different ethics and now all is ok? She had chosen two other terrible men and that was ok? Just didn’t work for me.

Such hard work to find out what was happening to others. Loved how Danata had her own little surprise. Happy that she will get her man.

This series truly gets better with each book. I feel like I've really settled into the world and the characters this time around. I love Donata's character. She's come an incredibly long way from the witch we first met in book one. She's fierce and determined to do the right thing always, even when it could cost her greatly and I love her for it. She has to step up yet again in this book, and despite some pretty big opposition, she never once wavers. I

Magic, action, ghosts and deception led the charge in Deborah Blake’s Veiled Enchantments. Set in the wild woods of Maine, this story had everything a fantasy fan could want, including a sweet second chance romance.

While I’m a huge fan of Deborah Blake’s work, this is the first book I’ve read in this particular series. And I was fine jumping in with book three–although I will likely be going back to read the other two as I enjoyed this installment so muc
