The beginning

A good read, just a shame that the first part ended when it did. Myrtle had to agree to the arranged marriage for peace to fall on the fight between Scotland and England. This tells of her first encounter with a Scottish laird and how she found peace with the decision. It also tells how the Duke rose in power to become the powerful person he became in later books. Steampunk, altered history and a little mystery to boot

What could be better than Steampunk, altered history and a little mystery to boot? From the beginning it just draws you into this adventure.

I really liked this story. It really makes me want to read the Clockwork War. Myrtle, for being a princess, is a very relatable character, and I really wish she was allowed to marry McAllister. A worthy read, no doubt

Be prepared to be dumped into a world of steampunk royalty. She is being prepared to travel into Scottland to marry for a truce. A simple tale which wraps you up in a beautiful world of customs, steampunk, the growth of love and understanding. It was well written with characters that spoke to you in different ways. A great introduction to what looks to be a promising series.
