The Italian/Northanger Abbey

Rate this book

Um. Northanger Abbey isn't a gothic novel.

A really interesting duo-read, putting Northanger Abbey into context as a satirical comment on the popular Gothic novels of her time. Best to read the Introduction after the two novels to avoid the spoilers within.
