As the balance begins to veer, it threatens to rip apart the fabric between worlds by an unknown force. Nivian and Kain must find the cause. If they don’t, the world as they know it may turn into hell on earth.
Born and raised in the PNW, Ali Winters is a USA Today bestselling and the award-winning author of The Vampire Debt series and The Hunted series.
She’s been mesmerized by the extraordinary worlds within books for as long as she can remember. One evening an idea for a book formed and refused to leave until she wrote it. She jumped headfirst into the career that has called to her since she opened her first book. And there hasn’t been a single moment without a story begging to be told since.
The Vampire Debt The Vampire Curse The Vampire Court The Vampire Oath The Vampire Crown (March. 2022) The Vampire Betrayal (A prequel/origin bonus story. Release date: TBD)
Rockin' Reapers N Hot Hunters Ali Winters has Reaped my heart away this book is as gorgeous as it's cover! The Exodus is a Fast paced, action-packed thrill ride that keeps U riveted to the very last page and begging for more full of delicious romance dark secrets and lol funny humor! I LOVE absolutely everything Ali writes 5 Stars and beyond!!!
A few months had passed since the battle between the Reapers and the Hunters at Isola Di Vita, Yeva’s island. There has been an unspoken truce between the opposing kinds especially since Yeva’s less noble intentions had been revealed to one and all.
Kain and Nivian’s relationship is slowly developing. Slowly because Nivi couldn’t decipher these strange feelings she has for Kain, while Kain was happily reeling her in like a patient fisherman to an elusive fish, as long as they get to spend as much time together.
Told in multiple POV, we get to see the story develop from almost every major character’s eyes. Silas and Yeva and their love-hate relationship that threatened to end it all, Caspian’s strength and dedication to his life’s mission, Camira’s slow destruction, and new characters I found myself growing fond of as I read along.
The writing style in this book is so beautiful, so lyrical that often times I found myself just marvelling at the words chosen by the author to relate something as simple as gazing into horizon.
I laughed, got excited…followed by frustrated (!) a few times following Nivi and Kain’s relationship. So many times I wanted to yell at Kain to stop being so patient and just claim his girl but hey, I also understood why he treated Nivi like that. Then there were moments where I could have strangled Nivi with her anxieties. Sometimes she reads too much into a situation. Grrr!
Did I mention this is a love story? Man, Ali Winters managed to show us not just the happy, sappy side of love but the destructive, soul-eating aspect of it as well.
And DANG! That ENDING…SIGH. Miss Winters, we need to have words you and me.
Suffice to say that I really enjoyed this second book and very much looking forward to the next ones!
Wow! Ali Winters has a way of pulling you into her worlds and making you feel like you're in the story.
Read this story after you read The Reapers. Nivian is a Reaper and Kain is a Hunter, yin and yang. In The Exodus, Nivian faces new threats while trying to balance life, relationships, and saving the world. Can she stop the impending doom before it's too late? Read it and find out!!!
This series is high on my list and I can't wait to read the next one!
There were so many things I enjoyed about this book – the creativity and the descriptive writing. Phrases like: “the weightlessness of their innocence.” And: “It is only in hindsight that knowledge is gained.” The book is filled with action, suspense, and even twists that I didn’t see coming. The only thing I didn’t like was it has some language in it that could have easily been left out and made it a clean read. But it is very creative and well-written.
I really love the whole premise for this series!! Reapers and Hunters are awesome, and I love reading about Nivi and Kain! The Exodus continues on with the story from the first book, The Reapers, so you'll definitely want to check that one out before you read this one. In Exodus, Nivi and Kain continue to build on their friendship, and begin to feel more for each other, but Nivi has been rather sheltered, so she is naïve to a lot of things, and doesn't understand her feelings towards Kain. These 2 are adorable together! So sweet and fun! Nivi has lots of little quirks, and Kain is totally wonderful with how much he understands and appreciates Nivi. Nivi still doesn't have all her memories, and she is having dizzy spells that shouldn't happen to a Reaper, and since the Reaper leader, Silas, is missing, there are some odd things happening in the Reaper world. Kain is working more with the Hunters, and with Nivi's help he is doing what he can to bring the Reapers and Hunters together, but there are those that don't want that to happen. There are some dark forces at work behind the scenes that are causing problems for both the Hunters and the Reapers. I'm looking forward to seeing with this story will go; especially since there is a bombshell ending to this book! I'm really hoping Nivi will start being a little less naïve, and start actually seeing people for who they are. I do sort of wish that there were a couple less POV's in this book because I felt some of them didn't add too much to the story, and took a little bit of the mystery away, but the story is still really interesting and enjoyable. Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!!
The Exodus by Ali Winters is the sequel that I have been waiting for since I read the first book, The Reapers. Nivian, Kain, Caspian, and Silas are all back in this book. There is romance, action, drama, suspense, and a few surprise returns.
This book picked up where the first one left off (no spoilers from me, so you’re going to have read that one first). There are so many twists and turns in the second book that will leave you wanting more. Ali Winters knows how to create characters that you will love and hate. You will know who I am talking about when you read the story.
Nivi is a strong female character that knows how to handle herself. She is the one you want on your side in case of a fight. She is battling to save the world from impending disaster. The storyline is on point. The dialogues are believable. The characters are created so perfectly that even the most jaded person will like them. Ali Winters is a phenomenal writer. Everyone should read her stories.
I can honestly say that The Exodus saved me tonight. I strongly encourage everyone to read it. I give it 5/5 Platypires. I wish I could give it about 20 Platypires.
The world continues to face a major threat and the reapers and hunters will have to unite to try to protect everyone.
I have really been enjoying this series. I like the storyline and all the action and surprises. It is an imaginative story that captured my interest from the start. You definitely want to read the books in order.
The relationship between Nivian and Kain has changed both of their lives. They are a great couple but struggle with how to make it work. Nivian does not know how to be in a relationship but Kain wants more than friendship. It is sad to see Nivian struggle with making the right choices. She tries so hard to avoid hurting anyone. I am eager for the next part of the story.
As I sit down to write this review, I find myself at a loss for words. Quite frankly Miss Winters has taken me on a roller coaster of emotions that has left me at a complete loss and a bit slackjaw. AND THAT WAS JUST THE LAST FEW CHAPTERS!!!
OMG, this whole series is AMAZING. Told from multiple POVs, the reader gets everyone's story, but not in a confusing or geez get on with it kind of way. From Silas & Yeva we see how they came to be and also their prior love story. We also see Kain & Nivi try to navigate a very complicated and confusing relationship. All of their stories are intermingled and come to an explosive, OMG!!! emding you won't see coming.
I give The Exodus 5 stars because it's a fast-paced, action-packed, romance, got to save the world from ending, fantastic read. The multi-dimensional characters leap from the pages and into your heart. Even the wicked ones!
I cannot fully express just how amazing this book is! Winter's words lure you in! You feel connected with the characters. You fall in love with some of them.
The balance is shifting at a rapid pace. Reapers are disappearing at a rapid speed. Nobody has any idea what’s going on. Many things are happening all at once. Sacrifices are needed to be made to keep the balance in order. The hunters and reapers have decided it would be in the best interest of all if they worked together to maintain the balance. Through it all, Nivian and Kain work to figure out what their relationship is and why they always yearn to be near each other. I was totally into this story from the very beginning. This is book two in the series. I loved the first book. If I had more time, I could have listened to both books all in one sitting. Alas, the daily lives in which we lead makes it almost impossible for me to finish anything in one sitting. It happens now and then, but not often. But yeah if I could choose it at will, this would be one of those series. I can just tell this is going to be a series I read repeatedly. The characters. Where do I even begin with the characters? They were so easy to connect with. I loved and adored all the “good” characters”. I wanted all the best for all of them. I wanted justice served for all the characters that betrayed them! But at the same time, I felt so bad for the bad ones. They didn’t seem evil. It’s more like they were confused and had things wrong. They misunderstood. I can’t say more than that without giving it away. The narration was terrific. I loved the personalities the narrator gave to this story. If I’m not mistaken, she did the first book too. She did fantastic with that one as well. I’m not sure if I’ve listened to her do any other books, but I’ll definitely be interested in listening to more of her work. She has great talent. She sucked me into the story more than I already was. And that says a lot! Overall, I really enjoyed the story. My emotions were all over the place with these characters! I can’t wait to dive into the third book! I fully recommend this book. Especially if the reader enjoys a nice paranormal story. It has some romance in it, but it’s clean. I loved it!
This is the second book in a series called The Hunted. I received an audiobook code from the author and had never read the first book (The Reapers). The series is about groups of reapers and hunters who are or have been mostly enemies. Nivian is a reaper. Kain is a hunter who was raised as a human until something happens in the first book to bring him into the hunter fold. Kain and Nivian are friends only Kain wants to be more than friends and Nivian doesn't know how she feels because living like a human is very new to her. There are a host of other characters - Silas, Eva, Caspian, Cimera and other hunters and reapers. The battles they apparently fought in the first book are really only the beginning because Silas holds Eva captive and then Eva holds Silas captive and the climax of this book has the destruction of both. The ending of this book is anguish and death for Nivian to deal with. The next book appears to pick up immediately after this one. I was able to mostly figure out what was happening even though I didn't read the first book. It was more than 9 hours of listening and the story is nowhere near finished. It didn't feel like much progress was made to whatever grand plan the author has for the series. So I liked the story fine but it didn't appeal to me more than 3 stars.
I want to cry. This book pulled on all of my emotions.
What can I say? This is excellent writing; the twists and turns had me on edge. I was not expecting the things that happened, and in a way, I feel robbed. When I say I feel robbed, I don't mean that this book is a waste of time. No, it was definitely worth the hours I put into it. But I feel like I was robbed of more time with these characters. When I reached the end of the book, I wanted to scream, "NO! Please let this not be the end!" I'm sad because one of my favorite characters is hurting and I'm sad because something unexpected happened to one of my other favorite characters.
Whenever I read a good book like this, I always would like to see it in movie format, but I'm in fear that the movie version will fall short in some way that will not do the book justice. Ali Winters, this is a masterpiece, and the way you weave a story together is impressive. You broke my heart with this one, but I'm hoping that you will put it back together by the end if this series.
Audio book review Book 2 in the series. It picks up where book 1 left off . This one has lots of twists and turns it will grab you from the first sentence right till the end . You’ll be routing for our couple to be together even though they shouldn’t be .
Same characters as the first our couple Nivian, Kain, and Caspian and Silas. . The story is between the light of the world and the dark. As we know in book 1 Nivian is the dark the reapers, Kain is her opposite, Kain loves Nivian , Nivian thinks she loves him but she’s not sure , she doesn’t know what it would feel like . There is balance in the world with all the characters , because they have their other half in their lives. Silas and Yeva are together. Silas is important in keeping the dark and light , the reapers and hunters together and equal . Silas goes missing all of a sudden . Everyone is trying to see who took Silas. You also need to see if he’s found to save mankind grab it and find out
The performance of Sarah is great. Her tone with all the characters is perfect . Her voice is strong and calm
OK, where to start... I love this series. This particular book has the reapers and hunters changing their beliefs. Nivian and Kain are spending more time together, but the past comes back to haunt them. Silas is hiding secrets that affect everyone and the balance is being shifted. OK..that's all I'm going to say. Anymore is spoilers. I am staying as vague as I can. I love that the world building continues. We learn more and more about the reapers and the hunters life's and worlds. They storyline is fantastic and extremely emotional. Be prepared for a cliffhanger. Don't know if I should have told you that, but hey, I would have wanted to know. So I'm letting you know. I highly recommend this series. It's original, emotional and has it's funny moments. Start with the first book though, or you will be completely lost. Definitely putting a Read Me sticker on this one. DawnBee <3
Nivian, Kain, Caspian and Silas all have a powerful part in this second book. The powers between light and dark, life and death are mesmerizing as the tail is told of a love that crosses thousands of years and threatens to destroy the realms of time. Yeva is the light and Silas the dark. He imprisoned her for millennium to save all, and now that she is free, destruction will be imminent
Nivian and Kain are powerful individuals who were both hunters and reapers, although we aren't sure how that happened. He loves her, but she has no reference in her history to tell her how that should feel. When an alliance is formed with the hunters, Nivian and Kain become closer. But some things are not meant to be.
Yeva captured Silas and the world is in jeopardy. It's an interesting story, one I wasn't sure I would like. But, it surprised me. It's certainly worth reading.
Continues right where book one leaves off, so would not be a good standalone. The author does a great job of continuing to build Nivian and Kain's relationship. We also get a better look into the past and how the Reapers and Hunters even began. There are many twists that accompany the action and suspense throughout as all the characters try to maintain the balance between light and dark. I like Nivian a lot as a character and I hope that we will see more development of her character in future books. If you loved book one, you'll love this one, too.... oh, and that cliffhanger will leave you highly anticipating book three!
The narrator is perfect for the story and is an especially great fit for Nivian's character. She does a great job really bringing the characters the life and exhibiting Nivian's naive nature.
It took me awhile to get into this book. Like the first book I felt like the first parts of this one was kind of dull. Nivian and Kain are hanging out, developing a relationship of sorts. It’s hard for Nivian because she has no idea what each new feeling means. I love Kain. I love that he didn’t push for Nivian to be anything other than her awkward self. And because she is so awkward, I love her the most.
The last few chapters are the best of the whole book. There is a showdown with all the main characters. Yeva, Silas, Nivian, and Kain.. along with a few other MCs no spoilers but some serious stuff happens.. and the very ending is beyond sad.
I can’t say much here without giving things away. So this is short and sweet. I got to listen to this at the courtesy of the author in exchange for a review, and here it is!
This was a great sequel. Following Cain & Nivian as they try to work around her lack of human experience was fascinating. Seeing the further development of characters was fun for some, and painfully frustrating with others. And the end... oh my goodness. I’ll be starting the next book as soon as I’m finished typing this out because I need to know what happens next!
Totally worth your audible credits, great writing and narration!
The Exodus takes place shortly after the end of The Reapers and the battle between the Reapers and the Hunters. In the Exodus, the relationship between Nivian and Kane grows stronger, we learn more about Yeva and Silas’ tortured history and Camira experiences the Reaper version of insanity. The story is action packed with deeper world building, and some interesting new characters. I listened to the Audible version and the narrator does a great job of building tension and differentiating the characters.
The second book had a slow start. It picked up halfway. It takes place after the battle that took place in book 1. I enjoyed reading how Kain and Nivian are getting close and how Kain is teaching Nivian how to drive, and other mundane things. We discover some of the Hunters world as well. The hunters and reapers have some sort of truce. It is tested by some characters that I knew was coming but it wasn’t much of a shocker to me. The ending was great and I’m happy to have book 3 ready to go. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator Sarah is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What a wonderful book! I loved how easy it was to go right along suffering from the same battles and inner struggles right along with the characters in this book. I look forward to devouring the next book in this series, and can't wait to find out what happens next.

Wow what a amazing book that has you hook right from the first series.. this book is amazing book and will draw you in and have you on edge tell the very end. The words will lure you In to this book wanting more.
Ali winters has outdone herself in this next book in her hunters series it was amazing read from start to finish and was good to see how things came about with the various plots Ali has created an amazing world and cant wait to see what happens next
This book has me in awe at how life and death weave together and the struggle it is to keep the balance. I can’t say too much without giving any spoilers, but will say that you will not be disappointed to get this and it will leave you craving for what comes next!
An awesome continuation of the story. This book was much more exciting than the first, and I became more invested in the characters. I would’ve given it 5 stars, but for that horrid ending.
This book I found not as strong as the first. It was good and had a lot of action but it just felt like something was missing. Good performance from Sarah. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
