Deanna Knippling is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors, even if I've only read a few pieces of her work.  By Dawn's Bloody Light is a quick little foray into supernatural horror, and makes me want to know more about the history of the town, and some of the locals described within.  There's one character in particular that gets so much buildup at the very beginning, and while

By Dawn's Bloody Light is a fairytale/fantasy mystery. When I was growing up, my favourite fairytales weren't the gentrified versions written for children. I loved the original stories filled with the Old Ones from before time, the persnickety Fay who could curse or charm you as their mood dictated, and witches who would toss you in the dinner pot.
