This is a very amusing collection of short prose poems, mostly mini-biographies. Others are riffs on people, or the poet playing the same games on his own life. The subjects are mostly famous, or semi-famous, but there is also the "Not Famous" Pittsburgh poet, Jack Wolford.

Most of the titles are simply the names ("Sal Mineo" "Gertrude Stein" "Charles Nelson Reilly") of the putative subjects; but others are interesting in themselves ("Photograph of Delmore Schwartz in Central Park" "Self-Portrait
