Thrilling, witty, and oh-so-sexy, Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novel brings together a beautiful Immortal and the man who is her destiny…

When I first started exploring the paranormal genre years ago, Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series is one of the first I discovered. (We're on book twenty seven, guys. This series is no joke.) You would think after all of this time taking a hiatus from the long continuing storyline, there would be some confusion. I admit, I was wondering if that issue would arise ...more
I love reading Lynsay Sands. Whether it’s her Paranormal, Contemporary or her Historical Romance series, I always feel fulfilled after reading one of her stories. I can continually count on her to write fun and interesting characters, to constantly bring a smile to my face and to always have a little bit of mystery to make everything interesting. Twice Bitten is exactly what I expected from her.
Wyatt was totally unexpected. A mortal who fell in love with El and then lost her when she just didn’t ...more
It was an odd book! 3 stars because the MCs were very engaging.
I almost DNFed at 10% because the mother (Martine) and the twin sisters were just so incredibly AWFUL!!!
But on the bright side, the other side characters were fun.
The sisters do redeem themselves, but Martine...
She essentially made her children her mindless slaves for many many decades. And the father just turned a blind eye??!?
Needless to say, the author had to do some fancy dancing to make that side of the plot believable. ...more

A few spots that were either slow or repetitive. Not many, and not enough to interfere with the enjoyment of the story. But, enough I noticed and felt the need to mention them. I don't remember seeing any typo's, etc.
This one is loaded with a few mysteries and they all get tangled together to make it more difficult for the Rogue Hunters to unravel.
Elspeth is slap dab in the middle of it all and trying to ...more
Argeneau #27, What I love about this series is that they can be read as a stand alone. Even with as big as this family is and all the characters where it would be easy to get lost in all the characters Sands is really good about that in this one there were only four, five extra Argeneau couples, including my favorite couple Marguerite and Julius, as well as some family members who haven't found their life mates yet, and a couple of humans; despite the large cast of characters it's so ...more
We have the worse mother in centuries here, she can take over the minds of her children and make them do whatever she wishes (we had 4 kids, I might ...more
Elspeth is part of the Argeneau family and even if she is a 140 year old vampire she has lived a somewhat shelter life but always a controlling one by her mother. Elspeth mother had taken the lost of her family hard and became obsessed with keeping Elspeth save and in her control. But Elspeth became free of her mother but knows she will com ...more
This was a really good story. I liked both Elspeth and Wyatt and enjoyed their story.
Elspeth is an immortal that is 142 years old and just now getting out on her own. Elspeth has tried to gain her freedom before but her mother is very controlling, a lot more than Elspeth realized until she moved out on her own. Elspeth got a teaching job in Canada and moved away from her family but with 6 weeks, her mother shows up for a "surprise visit" and wanting to rule her life again.
Wyatt is an ...more
I am not usually a fan of paranormal. However, I don't consider vampire (or immortal) books to be paranormal.
I know. I know. They are...but I still like them. So, work with me here and can we all just pretend that this title isn't paranormal? Thanks, I appreciate it.
Elspeth and Wyatt met years ago, but she doesn't remember him. Although, the reason for that is a lot deeper than a situation where a woman decides to ignore a bad date...as i ...more
I wish Wyatt would have been a bit more commanding as an ex-elite-soldier, but it was a good story with some of the earlier banter and levity. But gripping at the same time. I also liked Ellie. It was also nice to see ...more
One seriously controlling centuries-old mother had me ready to stand up and fight for our heroine to finally be free to live her life. Along with this epic battle of wills, Twice Bitten was loads of fun with some action and a touch of mystery thrown in as well.
For such a longstanding series, Lynsay Sands is still managing nicely to keep things fresh. For me, the Argeneaus are just as interesting as they were when I first picked these books up and with ea ...more
We have meet Elspeth in previous books however she is seen so little in 26 books that I did not remember who she was. When I read the blurb for this book I was a bit hesitant because I did not want to deal with new characters when Lucian and Co. are in Venezuela trying to save the world. To be honest I could have done without this book. I am not saying that this book was not good, because it was, but just the fact that I want to be with the Immortals in Venez ...more
This book was laugh out loud funny !
Lynsay Sands scored again with this book. I loved Elspeth and Wyatt ! They were amazing characters and this book had so much going on in the story that it's hard to choose just one shining moment. I had to feel sorry for poor Elspeth because of everything that kept happening to her. Over and over again she proved her strength. She was such an amazing heroine who had the patience of a saint for putting up with the crap from Martine.
Like always, the writing an ...more

Talk about an overprotective mother! She’s a pain but does wonders for the Argeneau series.

It’s been quite some time since I picked up an Argeneau novel. However, after cracking open Twice Bitten, it really didn’t take long for Elspeth and Wyatt remind me why I so enjoyed this series at one time. They are, after all, light-hearted, easy-going romances—nothing too serious even though there are serious moments throughout. And that’s readily on display in this 27th book in the series.
