Up in Space: An Adventure at the Space Needle
When Lindie Lou and Max land in the Emerald City, a new adventure begins! Lindie Lou says goodbye to Max and wonders if she'll ever see him again. Her new family introduce her to life on a lake where she learns how to swim. One day they take her to the city of Seattle. Follow Lindie Lou on a journey in this amazing city, where she meets new friends, and learns life lessons along the way. Lindie Lou's adventure continues when she discovers Rachel the Pig, sees flying fish, discovers orca whales, and visits a gum wall. But her biggest adventure awaits her...when she visits an amazing place, and goes... UP IN SPACE.

Bender's content for this book series is derived from many years of traveling the world with her dog named Lindie Lou. Together they've experienced many eye-opening adventures and learned multiple life lessons along the way. Bender shares these experiences in her Lindie Lou Adventure Series books.
Education:
Bender's writing talent was discovered early on when she received high praise for her poetry and early compositions. Bender continued to write, sharing her travel stories with friends and family. They encouraged her to put her adventures in book format.
Bender hired a creative writing professor in Seattle to help improve her writing skills. She also continued her education in the UK at Oxford University.
The first book in the Lindie Lou Adventure Series was published in 2015.

Book 1, FYING HIGH: Flying on an Airplane for the very first time was published October 2015.
Book 2, UP IN SPACE: An adventure at the Space Needle was published December 2016.

Book 4, BIG CITY MAGIC: Uncover the Secret of the Big Apple was published in 2019.
Book 5, ON ICE: Exploring the Arctic with a Polar Bear Cub was published in 2021.
Book 6, ISLAND TREASURE: Leave no Stone Upturned was published in 2023.
Book 7, Mission to the Moon: Is it Really Made of Cheese? Will be published in 2026.

Upon finding this book at the Space Needle in Seattle, I realized there were more! There are 3 books and I bought them all to start the series with my nieces and nephews! Lindie Lou is fun, exciting, SASSY and adorable!! I hear there are more books to come and can't wait to see what she gets into next!

She met Max at an airport baggage claim and now they have arrived at the Emerald City. Lindie Lou has been living with Joe and Sherry till now. But now, she has new owners and a new home.
Lindie Lou finally met her new mommy Kate who found her cuter than her pictures. Will Lindie Lou meet Max? With white and gray buildings, Lindie Lou wonders why the city is known as Emerald City.
Read this book to find the answer yourself. The character of Lindie Lou is immediately likable. This book tempted me to go on an adventure, especially to Seattle. Kids will have a great time solving quick quizzes and reading the fun facts given at the end of the book. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts. I strongly recommend this book for little ones.

Lindie Lou’s Seattle Adventure is a absolute gem! Watching this brave little puppy land in the Emerald City and explore everything Seattle has to offer is pure magic. Kids will love following her as she takes in iconic local landmarks from watching the famous flying fish at Pike Place Market and marveling at the famous Gum Wall to going "up in space" at the Space Needle and spotting majestic orca whales in Puget Sound!
What makes this story extra special, though, is the emotional depth. January 7, 2022I read this to my grandson (age 5 at the time) and every time I got to the end of the chapter he said, "More, grandma, more!!! So we kept reading! Lindie Lou is an adorable character who experiences new adventures in each book. This one takes place in Seattle as Lindie Lou gets to know the city with her trusted friend Max, a husky she met in book 1, Flying High. Large fonts, color illustrations, a bridge chapter book for kids who are wanting to read something a little longer or a fabulous family or classroom read aloud. This series is my answer to little ones who want Harry Potter or Minecraft books and aren't quite ready for the subject matter.

Lindie Lou's adventures in Seattle were amazing! Her friend Max was her tour guide and showed her many things. One of my favorites was when they visited the Gum Wall - it was interesting and a little gross. Jeanne Bender does a great job of keeping the reader interested in what Lindie Lou will do next.

Read this with a student. She loved it, me not so much. Talking dogs aren't necessarily my thing, but loved the book because the 4th grader reading it was absolutely enthralled!
