A note to the prospective reader - the analysis is firmly placed into modern philosophical analysis of Zhuangzi (Chuang-Tzu) and not placed in the historical time period or the later writings and schools that were directly influenced by him (Chan, Zen).  The tether to Zhuangzi can feel a bit tenuous when Allinson develops his arguments based on the strength of argumentation or the use of literary devices.  The author uses these arguments to assume authorial intent, though that can also get tenuous as with the argument that the Butterfly dream would be better structured and placed differently than it is.
