This was a great book which drew me in at the beginning. Found the many humerous quips refreshing and thought they brought out the personality of the characters as well as made it easy to identify and sympathize with their dilemmas. Enjoyed this one very much!

Talk about love triangles, family drama, and a girl with a serious commitment phobia! Whoa!

This was a super cute and fast read that was completely relatable. I loved the sassy and quick-whit of Elise and the narrator. One of my favorite scenes in the book is the following:

"I'm not going to mention anything about the white elephant that is sitting with us at the table tonight," Darren said halfheartedly.
"Who invited him, anyway?" Elise swallowed more of her wine before setting the glass down o

I debated with myself how many stars I should rate this book, I though about lowering it, but since I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot more I stuck with 3 stars.

That being said, I really liked the book when I started, the writing was good and the story kept my interest, until about half of it. I could relate to a heroine who was veey afraid of commitments and I actually really liked her boyfriend.

Then, something comes up and she has to g

Elise has commitment issues. You get a feel for why as the story progresses. She has a relationship with Darren and when she goes home to Bowling Green she sees her first love Ben.

What I loved about this story is how real it is. Now with that said there were times where Elise made me angry with her wishy-washy self. It is refreshing to see that a main female lead character that is scared of commitment. To evoke that much response from a reader, you know the author is doing a stell

Elise is a 31 year old computer programmer from Bowling Green Kentucky who has severe commitment issues. To say that she goes through boyfriends is an understatement. She always manages to find something wrong with them, and then she gives them the heave ho. The way that Elise dumps the guys does have its charms, until she finds Mr Right. Darren is a good looking cardioligist and is totally in love with Elise. He wants to move forward in their relationship, I mean it has been almost 9 months of ...more

Parents often project their issues and insecurities onto their children without meaning to and another they forever alter the course of their children's lives. This story is a classic example of that situation.
Elise is a commitment phobe. She has been running from "Forever" since she started dating. She has had it drilled into her head that there is no happily ever after. Darren has been wearing her defenses down. Elise jumps at the chance to get away and help her mom. She will do anything to av

Kentucky Cure by Julieanne Dove is a great journey. A young woman who has commitment issues may find her cure after all. The main character, Elise, was believable. I felt like she kept running away from life over and over again. It was hard to feel what she was really feeling. I couldn't really get a good grasp on it in the beginning. Then, towards the middle I discovered why she has the issue. But again, I couldn't really connect with her. Instead, I felt more connection to the guys who loved h ...more

Nice book, but there is no possible way that a sister would take her sister's man, have not one but two children with him and still hope to have a pleasant relationship with her regardless if said sister broke up with him. That is BEYOND girl code. And if our heroine is as stunted emotionally as the book portrays, she wouldn't forgive them before she gets her own issues ironed out. Hell, I'm just reading and I can't forgive her. I can't even finish the book LOL.

While The Kentucky Cure is definitely all the things your girlish fantasies are made of, it's moving and raw and relateable in all the best ways.

Elise is a indecisive mess and fears commitment above all things. Her inability to give in to love breaks your heart and you find yourself rooting for her at every turn.

There were some big plot twists early on which were definitely unexpected.

The writing brought Kentucky to life beautifully. You could feel every gist of wind and raindrop.

All in all,

This book drew me in from the very beginning and kept me totally hooked until the very end! This book was hard to put down once I started it, therefore, I finished it in one sitting!

It was a good book overall. The author put a lot of thought into it. I looking forward to reading her other books now.

Elise has commitment problems. Her mother pushed her problems on to Elise and made her not sure if she ever wanted to depend on a man. She has left home and started a new life where she was a man hopper. Mostly happy with her life in California and a boyfriend of 9 months, life gets turned upside down with her mom has to have surgery and her sister needs help looking after their

I absolutely loved this emotional read. Elise left home years ago, to go to college in California. She left a note for Ben, her first and only love. Present day, she’s been dating Darren for a little over nine months. He’s talking commitment and she’s trying to get up the nerve to break up. Then, she’s called home to Bowling Green, Kentucky to help, after her mother has surgery. She’s hoping to avoid seeing Ben, but we know that’s not going to happen, lol. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, bu ...more
