Bedlam in Bethlehem #2

When Wolves Howl

Rate this book
Detective Clarissa Tempest knows firsthand that vamps are real, but now there are new problems that seem to be pointing toward… werewolves? Seriously?

It’s bad enough it took Clarissa endangering herself to convince her fellow officers that vamps are real, but now there’s a rash of killings with animal markings from wolves or another large animal, only Bethlehem, PA definitely isn’t home to those kind of predators.

But then she witnesses an animal attack… and the animal shifts into a man.

Clarissa has faced down vamps. She’ll charge against werewolves, too, and pray that a swipe of their claws won’t turn her into one of them, because, really, that’s the last thing she needs.

WHEN WOLVES HOWL is a part of A Mayhem of Magic World Story universe.

I think I am going to take a break from reading anything else by this author for a while. I really enjoy the story and the characters. However, there are way too many grammar errors. It drives me crazy to be really into a story and come across errors so often that it irritates me. It really makes me enjoy the book so much less than I should be. One or 2 errors I can forgive but this author needs a real editor.

Vamps are a threat no human would like to acknowledge. And now it seems there is even more..
Assigned to new unit with not a very friendly boss, Clarissa Tempest is working on the case regarding vamps. This time, however, new strange attacks appear, pointing toward a different culprit, and no less supernatural - a werewolf. Determined to stop the murders and save everyone she can, including those who are not thankful, she does things she would never do before.
Seeing this story continue with the promises of even more to come is a pleasure and great reading experience. The story intensifies with every chapter, revealing only the necessary to fully comprehend what´s going on but never revealing too much to spoil the surprises. it keeps the story mysterious, full of secrets and tension, and forces the reader to keep the eyes glued on pages to know more and more. Clarissa is a great heroine, a true cop with the best motivation, kickass and stubborn, but I love her absolutely. I also very much love the guys in her life, although I got a feeling some of them may hide secrets on their own. With the supernatural occurences in Bethlehem and more to come, I am eager to get to the next book in the series.

In this installment of the Bedlam in Bethlehem, Detective Clarissa Tempest is once again on the trail of supernatural beings in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The cops now believe that vampires are real. They even catch some so they could learn what makes them tick. That doesn’t work out due to a brief visit from Blake Damon, Vampire Hunter. Soon the police begin to put together a special unit to investigate this and any other strange phenomena around the city. On her nightly rounds, Clarissa just happens to meet another of these phenomena – a werewolf – and thus begins a new adventure. What kind of havoc can werewolves wreak? How is she going to handle this one, and how will she explain this one down at the station. And, finally, what is the strange connection between these beings and Clarissa?

The story follows the traditional monster chasing plot line seen in When Vamps Bite. The quirky, realistic, and mostly likeable characters we met in the first story are all here, and we see a little more of Blake Damon. This story is a howling good addition to the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily reviewed it and the comments are my own.

I loved the book, I mean the story line is awesome! I really want to know why Clarissa is so immune to Vamps and why is she the one that can spot the goons and all the bad guys. Also, the chemistry she has with the men in her life WOW, I don't know who I want her with. One or both are hiding something big.
Again the story itself is great! I just wish whom ever did the edits would have really checked, because the grammar, spelling and some of the word choices and sentences are just horrible and you really have to figure out what you're trying to say in the book otherwise it's golden

Vamps now Werewolves

Our favourite Cop is having a hard time of it, Vampires are real and when she finally gets her boss to believe her, new murders start and she sees a wolf turn into a man.
Still many questions left unanswered like why are they giving her a free pass and allowing her to live.
What is behind her goon radar and why she seems to be at the centre of all that is happening.
I can't wait to read more 🥰

Not my cup of tea

I read the first and was intrigued to see where it would go despite not being overly fond of the protagonist. Sadly, this second was worse than the first. Absolutely no character development, and if anything the main character became more obnoxious, irritating and downright distasteful.

Hard pass.

Detective Tempest's internal conflict monolog becomes very repetitive.
I must be strong and competent.
I'm exhausted.
I should ask for help.
I can't put co-workers at risk.
I love might him but I can't put him at risk.
It's the same for the 4 books I read.
One might expect a little growth in the main character.
