Maitha AlKhayat is an Emirati mother of five children and an international children’s author and illustrator. She published more than 170 publications, some translated into English, Turkish and Italian. She delights children with her quirky yet cultural stories through interactive storytelling and workshops. Her award winning books are “My Own Special Way” and “Turn Off The Lights”. Her illustrations of “Father’s Date Palm Trees” was shortlisted for best picture book at Zayed Book Award 2020. Maitha enjoys traveling, cooking and even writing children’s TV shows like Iftah Ya Simsim, Sesame Street and Hamdoon; Emirati animation.
