The light to My Darkness is book five in the Hunted series but read very well as a standalone book for me!

Penny and James are expecting their second child and they both think they know the gender of their baby. They have a fun back and forth with each other. Penny believes she is having a boy. James believes they are having a girl. They have a three-year-old daughter and on the surface, things seem to be going great for this family.

Penny has been turned down by several publishers and is feeling

* 5 heart stopping stars *

Ivy Smoak has once again given her readers a heart stopping, completely engrossing read centered around our favorite professor and his former student, James and Penny. Just when we think everything is going smoothly for our 2 favorite characters, Smoak drops The Light to My Darkness and blows our minds! This book is everything readers have come to expect from the author---super sexy,

OH MY GOD!!! Ivy, how the hell could you do this to my favorite couple?!?!

Penny and James are back in Foundation, but everything is not OK like it should be. Yes, they're still in love and still sexing each other up as often as possible. But, Penny is pregnant with what she knows is a boy, even though James is sure they're going to have a girl, and she's having some health problems with this pregnancy. I won't spoil, well I will but only in this spoiler tag (view spoiler)

whyyyyyyy??? Ivy, this book tugged on my emotions the entire time. A part of me knew what was going on, but I didn't expect all of this. That precious smart Scarlett. Thank God for her. I laughed, cried, and by the end, I was pulling my hair out. Amazing book, but why put us through heartache by ended it like this. I need James right now, and I need Penny too. You can't do this to us. Please don't do this to us.

seriously....?? how on earth has this series received such high reviews?

The Light to my Darkness by Ivy Smoak is the fifth book in the Hunted Series. I have not read the other books in this series but was able to jump right into this story. I don't feel as if you have to read the previous books in this series to enjoy this book, Ms. Smoak does an excellent job bringing the new reader up to speed. But, this book was just soo good, I definitely feel the need to go back and read this series from the beginning.
This book is a continuation of Penny and James’ story. Be

Let me lay this out.
I loved the first few books. They were totally insane but ok due to the fact the characters liked each other and they just needed to work on themselves to make it work. Decently written etc.
But then this book happens and I'm sitting here just scratching my head because these characters are just horrible to the main heroine. She's lost her memory, people are trying to kill her constantly(last series) and then she's obviously having issues fitting in. I mean her husband has all

WOW!! Just WOW!!

I absolutely love this couple, Penny and James, and the trials and tribulations that they seem to always find themselves in. This story was like a slowly moving storm, - not so slowly that the story didn't have me hooked - I could just see something was coming, and it wasn't going to be good.
I knew that the shiz was going to hit the fan, but what actually happened caught me off guard! Totally! I'm left with shock, suspicion, and anxiety. All the feels. The next book can't come

I was given an advanced copy for my honest review.

This book is #5 in the beloved Hunted Series. From the first page you are sucked into James and Penny's world. Is the baby a boy or girl? Is it one baby or multiples? Has James and Penny made peace with James' parents?

I could hardly put it down and stayed up late into the night reading just to find out what is happening. I laughed, cried, and may have wanted to head out east, find Ivy and demand answers. I may have had to Google a thing or two.

This book was a waste of time. The description of this book said it was full of suspense. There wasn’t a hint of suspense until I was through 80% of the book and that 80% was pretty boring. I was disappointed in this book and certainly wouldn’t bother with the next book about Penny and James.

This is the fifth book with these same characters. Their lives are getting darker and darker with someone trying to poison the heroine.

This was a fantastic read with a twisted cliffhanger.

Penny and James are married. This book takes you along their married life, their trails, and blissful moments. They are head over heels, crazy for one another. They often interacted as if it was their first encounter, and I loved it. They also had a three-year-old daughter with one on the way.

I loved their love and their relationship with their friends.

This book is unbelievable. WOW! WOW! WOW! Great book. It is 1:58am Eastern time.
I'm buying 'THIS IS LOVE' ebook right this second. Ivy Smoak this book is a winner.
All I can say is this is the first time I'm not going to care about sleeping tonight.
I suffer big time from insomnia LOL.

I won this ebook for free through Goodreads Giveaways. Thank you to Goodreads and Ivy Smoak for the copy. As always, an honest review from me.

The Light to My Darkness is wonderful, heartfelt, passionate, and has just enough suspense. Penny is pregnant with her second child. She craves bananas and ice cream. She looks after her adorable 3 year old, Scarlett. And her husband absolutely worships her. The only difference this time around is that she has a moderate to severe heart murmur, and the pre

This is my review for the series as a whole...

I have fell victim to yet another Smoak series. When I finished The Hunted series and heard there was another series about Penny and James, I knew I had to read it. And I quickly flew through it just as fast as the others.

In this series we get both Penny and James’ pov. And it was everything. My heart hurt so very much reading this one. I bawled ugly tears. My heart broke over and over for them both. Especially with book 2. I wasn’t sure I could han

Not sure why I even read this except it was free, since I didn’t even like the first book.
Penny is still the same whinny, insecure and needy person. Constantly complaining how she was the size of a whale and questioning James true feelings for her. I didn’t like the direction the author took the story where we’re left wondering if Penny really is struggling with mental health issues or was suffering a medical condition.

I was glad to find there was another book beyond the Hunted series. I found this one started good but dragged on for a bit. Eventually when it picked up (over halfway through) I couldn't put it down. Like there was no in between, it was slow or just HOLY SHIT tell me what happens next kind of a thing. With that said though, definite cliffhanger and will continue reading to find out what happens.

I do think this COULD standalone, but that people would find it more interesting and invested in the s

The Light to my Darkness is by Ivy Smoak. This is unofficially book 5 in The Hunted Series; but isn’t listed that way. Actually, there are several more now.
After James survived surgery and the wedding, it was now Penny’s turn. She was pregnant and had a little girl, Scarlett. Scarlet had progress to the point of wanting Daddy to do everything right now if she didn’t do it herself. She wanted him to read to her and bathe her and put her to bed, etc. She tolerated Penny doing them when Daddy wasn
Still not the end of the saga of Penny and James

This is not a standalone and it's necessary to read all four books of the Hunted Series before reading this extension of Penny and James's story. This is also not the end of this couple's continuously bumpy road to happiness and leaves the reader hanging.

Although I actually love this couple's saga, with its wonderful cast of family and friends, I had to knock off a couple of stars because this had such a slow-moving start. The first three-quarters

The Light To My Darkness Series continues The Hunted Series you don’t want to miss

The Light To My Darkness picks up about 3 years after The Hunted Series and you will be so glad to continue with this one.
James and Penny are married, with a beautiful daughter Scarlett.
Penny is currently 7 months pregnant with their second child. James has turned control of Hunter Technologies over to his brother Rob and is currently teaching at a local university. Penny has decided to take all her notes about he

What can I say about this book . . started reading it 9/23 at 9ish and finished reading it 9/24 145ish. I was crying the whole time reading this book. It was beautiful yet heart wrenching. To know that Penny still had doubts of her love from James. It is a beautiful story from the beginning. Very taboo the whole professor student thing. But their love was strong. Strong enough to get married and start of family. When reading the hospital scene when the doc said about "poison" my thoughts went st ...more

Wow parent life...

Getting straight to it, this book doesn’t have near as many love scenes as did the other books in the series but Penny is pregnant with their second baby & of course it’s difficult to find that alone time. We get all the worry, hormones & emotional episodes thanks to baby #2 but Penny would do it all over again. The fears that come with pregnancy are real but more so with Penny because the stakes are high.

There’s a serious curveball towards the end and Scarlett is in the middle

I absolutley loved this book. Penny and James are such amazing characters. I loved every single second that I got to spend with them. I dont know that I could deal with living in the spotlight and my picture constantly being taken. This is the way its always been for them and Pwnny fewls like she doesnt deserve the life she has. She decides to basically to herself that she is not worthless and writes a novel. Then the rejections start to pour in. All this while being pregnant with thier second c ...more

I had no idea that this 3 book series is a spin-off of a previous 4 books series. I felt a little lost with the mention of so many characters and the interactions that I almost stopped reading, but decided WTH I'll stick with it. Penny & James are expecting their second child, they have good friends that are planning a wedding (again all characters from previous books). What you get is

I love this book. I couldn't put it down since I read the first book of the hunted series, Temptation. I finished reading the hunted series in 7days and I just started reading this book on the 30th of January, today is the 31st not even a full 24 hours have past and I am already done with this book. It is absolutely amazing. I'm addicted. I love your story. I really hope you write more just like these. I can't wait until I mean as much to someone as you meant to james. Despite the hard ti

Keep me whole

I felt like this book started off a little slow for me. I wish I would have read the Hunted Series first because I would've been as in love with these characters at the start as I was by the end of the book. Penny was a stay at home mom, wife, and budding author. She was surrounded by so much love. She was pregnant with her second child and head over heels in love with her husband. James was older, a professor at her college, rich, and oozed sex appeal. Having birthed 4 children, I
