Finally catching up on a full read of the guidebook some months after a grey and rainy visit, I was reminded how enriching these EH guidebooks can be. Mount Grace Priory is an interesting set of ruins, given that the monks lived a much more single-celled existence than most (almost hermit-like). And then you have the bonus of an Arts & Crafts house interior.

It was a little too heavy on the names and dates at the expense of detail, but there's an, ahem, juicy little nugget in a section on the monks' diet where the habit of lobbing fish skeletons on the floor is described and the finding of a human toe is related, presumed cut off by a falling knife.
