What a book of contrasts. A riot of color and shapes, black on white and white on black. All sorts of typefaces and hand-drawn lettering. Pages that need to be spun to read the spiraling text. And verse that flows and tells the storyline. This is such an enjoyable mashup of all these elements that somehow all pull in the same direction.

Fantastic combination of lyrical writing and perfectly complementary illustrations. The girls *loved* this book when they were little, and I loved reading it to them. It's a keeper, and a great book to give as a gift.
