Who Moved My Goat Cheese? is the 1st book in the 'Farm-to-Fork Mystery' series written by Lynn Cahoon. The book was published a few years ago, but I finished another series by the author and wanted to start another one of her works. I have already ordered the 2nd one and plan to continue with the 3rd, as the 4th (and latest) will be published in December for New Year's Eve.
I love food. I enjoy working farms. I like reading about murders (just reading, thank you). It sounded like a solid theme. Angie and her bestie have returned to Idaho from California. Angie's grandmother recently passed away, and she wanted to start a new life. They've opened a new restaurant, which may struggle in the rural town... but Angie believes she can draw in a larger crowd from surrounding towns. In her first few days, she argues with some of the local commerce folks, inherits a goat, and learns her neighbor has been murdered. He was going to sell her the cheese she needed for her restaurant, and he also had a strong tie to her grandmother. Angie must investigate his death.
During the course, she meets the strict but understanding sheriff, a local businessman who knows about farming, an elderly neighbor and her granddaughter, a new vet for her St. Bernard puppy, several restaurant workers, and a couple of townies who work in real estate, government, and farm businesses. Which one of them had it out for the old cheesemonger? And were there really buried secrets on his property? Angie tries to find out while opening her new restaurant, and of course, she walks right into the killer's hands. Luckily, she escapes... but I'm confident she'll be at it again soon. And I'm glad about it, because I enjoyed this series debut a lot.
Overall, it's a solid cozy that sets up several important relationships. I felt it lacked a little clarity on why the killer murdered someone. It was explained but too quickly. It also left a few open questions about why we'd never heard of the connection beforehand, nor had we understand what buried treasure really did exist. We do learn who inherits the guy's farm, so perhaps that's a topic for a future book. I like Ian, the possible boyfriend, although the new sous chef might have a chance. Felicia, the bestie, is fun but seems a little wacky. The goat, dog, and hen are must-keeps... lots of laughs. Looking forward to more in the series.

Who Moved My Goat Cheese? by Lynn Cahoon is the first book in the all new cozy Farm-to-Fork Mystery series. This is another great start to a cozy series for the foodies and animals lovers out there.
Angie has moved back to her grandmother’s farm in rural Idaho after her passing where she and her friend and business partner Felicia plan to open a new themed restaurant. The idea of the restaurant is the new concept of farm to table where the ladies plan to use ingredients from all of the local farms.
After a bit of a snag getting the locals to cooperate Angie finds herself meeting with Old Man Moss, a goat diary farmer, to try to secure the use of his cheese for the restaurant which seems to go well. However the next day Angie gets a visit from the local sheriff after he’s found murdered with her seeming to be the last person to see him.
Who Moved My Goat Cheese? is a lovely start to what seems to be a really solid cozy series with all those things I’ve come to expect. There’s strong female lead who finds herself caught up in a murder investigation leading her to do her own snooping, a nice cast of cozy critters being set on a farm, and for those that love the reads with a side of some lovely food talk this one had plenty along with a recipe at the end.
The author did a wonderful job fleshing out the characters and setting up this rural setting to bring in plenty of suspects and theories to keep a reader guessing. Along with the murder mystery this one seems to have a touch of a budding romance for the female lead so it will also be interesting to see how it continues in the series too. In the end I found myself looking forward to reading more in this series in the future.

When I saw the cover art and title to this new cozy mystery by Lynn Cahoon, I knew I had to read it. I enjoy cozies that have humor and a creative theme -- this one has both!
Angie Turner moves to Idaho to live in her grandmother's rural old farmhouse. She and her business partner, Felicia, are going to open a Farm-To-Table restaurant, The County Seat, in the nearby small town of River Vista. In fact, the restaurant is slated to open in a week when they hit a slight snag. The manager of the local farmer's market says he will not allow farmer's market vendors to sell to the restaurant. She meets with a local curmudgeon, Gerald Moss, who has a goat dairy and makes cheese. He agrees to sell his cheese to the restaurant. Angie feels a bit more optimistic about finding locally sourced foods after that initial success......until Old Man Moss is found murdered.
This book is a nice start to a new cozy series. I like the main characters. There are plenty of cute animals and a nice theme. The mystery moves at a nice steady pace. The Farm-to-Table theme doesn't overpower the mystery, but adds to the nice, cozy feel of the story. There were plenty of suspects and a couple twists to keep the suspense going, although I figured out who the murderer was pretty quickly...just not why. A nice beginning for a series! I will be reading more.

The farm-to-table-restaurant is a new spin on a classic theme that I enjoyed very much. I am sure it will also provide us in future installments with a great veriety of suspects and victims.
Old Man Moss, the goat farmer and friend of Angie's late grandma, is found dead on his farm and murder is suspected. Angie was one of the last people to have visited with him....
I loved her little pet zoo, Dom the dog, Mabel the chicken and Precious the baby goat which she adopted after from the goat farm after Moss' death.
It was a fast paced but also relaxing read that I very much enjoyed. The clues and suspects kept me on my toes and guessing until the end. A great start to a new mystery series.

sweet and cozy mystery with adorable animals as pets (a baby goat and big dog). not quite my thing when it comes es to cozy mystery but I enjoyed it.

I love the concept of this story—serving food freshly harvested from the fields or made fresh with ingredients from farm animals. That’s the dream behind Angie Turner and her friend/business partner, Felicia Williams venture in opening The County Seat restaurant. Farm-to-Table meals. The idea sounds simple if you can find trustworthy sources for your fresh food supplies. The murder of one of their sources puts a crimp in the grand opening plans. In between seeing to all the last minute details required to open a restaurant, Angie, accompanied by her adorable Saint Bernard puppy, Dom, asks lots of questions as to why the goat farmer, Old Man Moss, would be murdered.
This story is a fun, quick read and a satisfying whodunit. The backstory is very interesting. Baby goat, Precious, is just that....precious. I thought the bad person was fairly obvious, but that didn’t keep me from enjoying the book from beginning to end. A love interest for Angie steps in fairly quickly, also. I really enjoyed this debut story and look forward to many more books in the series.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series. The concept is a really neat one and something I haven't seen before so it made the book original. The characters are very likable as well making it for easy reading. I look forward to reading the second book in the series once it is released.
As stated above, this is the first book in a brand new mystery series. It's a light read at only 180 pages so readers will get through it rather quickly. Don't let the page count fool you though as the book isn't too fast paced where you feel like something is missing. In fact, I think it's the perfect length as it gives all the information needed for the mystery and enough to get to know the characters without unnecessary details.
The main character in the novel is Angie. She moves back to her former small town in rural Idaho in order to open a restaurant with her partner Felicia. Getting to know the locals on a deeper level proves hard in the beginning, but Angie's sweet nature makes it quicker for them to trust her. Too bad the one grouch that does like her right away is murdered!
Angie is on the case when the local goat cheese farmer is found murdered and will stop at nothing to crack the case. Readers will love following Angie as she not only follows clues to find the killer but getting to know her cool restaurant and business as well. If you are a cozy reader, this is a great book to grab. And, if you're new to the genre, this is a good one to start with as it is s shorter read but has all the fixings for the perfect cozy mystery!

The first book of a new series, Farm to Fork. It is fun and relaxing read, good to read on a cold night or take The beach. The characters are developed and attractive and descriptions of the area good. The background is located in Southwest Idaho farming communities. Angie Turner and Felicia Williams closed THEIR restaurant in California as their lease was canceled. Angie Grandmother died and left her the family's farm near the major town, Boise. Angie lived with her Grandmother until she graduated from high school and this her first trip was home. Like many people when Angie saw a litter of St Bernhard pups, she had one she called Dom. Angie found a new-born goat, Precious wondering on hiking trails. The owner was found dead below the cliffs. Angie becomes involved with the investigation to keep her mind occupied while doing the next necessary work on the restaurant startup. The killer is easy to recognize but the motive was hidden until it revealed. There are a number of twists and turns that will keep me reading until the end.
I have lived in the area a major portion of my life. It was great to see this area described accurately. Often it is not. Lynn did an outstanding job bringing this area to life. I will definitely read another book in the series. I highly recommend it.

This was the first culinary mystery I have read about a farm-to-table business. There are many, many culinary cozies out there and if you are looking for a non-cookie cutter culinary cozy, this is it. In this debut book in the Farm-to-Fork series we are introduced to main characters and friends Angie and Felicia, who are hard at work creating a fresh start for themselves with a farm-to-fork restaurant. As they scurry to get ready for their grand opening in their idyllic adopted town in Idaho, their goat cheese vendor is found dead on a canyon trail. The plot unfolds well and is wrapped up nicely. The characters are interesting. There is a hint of a future romance. I give this book 4 stars due to its unique setting. It is refreshing to find a culinary cozy that doesn’t follow the same standard setting. I received an advanced reader copy provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley, which did not affect my rating. I have provided an unbiased and honest review.

This is the first book in a new series by Lynn Cahoon. For a first in a series, it took some time to introduce the characters and the setting which is why I did not rate this book higher. Angie Turner moves to Idaho after her grandmother has died. She is living on her farm and along with her business partner, Felicia, they plan to open a restaurant. Because of the farm setting they want the County Seat to be a farm-to-fork restaurant. Unfortunately, things are not going according to plan. The manager of the local farmer's market does not want his market vendors to get involved with these city slickers. Angie meets with a local curmudgeon, Gerald Moss, who has a goat dairy and makes cheese. He agrees to sell his cheese to the restaurant once he realizes who she is. He was friends with her grandmother. The others finally come around as well. Angie is feeling good about the opening of her restaurant until, Gerald Moss is found dead and it is determined that he was murdered. As Angie was one of the last people to see him alive and she is new in town, she thinks she needs to help solve this crime so her restaurant opens normally and this man she met gets justice.
I like the main characters of Angie, Felicia and Ian. There are some good secondary characters as well such as her neighbours and even the Sheriff. There are plenty of cute animals (Precious the goat, Dom the St. Bernard puppy and even a chicken) to round out the characters. The mystery moves at a nice steady pace. I did figure out who the murderer was because he was the shadiest of characters but I did not know why he did it. I will read the next to see where this series goes. The premise is great.Angie is a favorite character. Precious the goat was delightful,so was Dom the dog. The mystery was easily solved but still enjoyable. The audio book made it more fun because of the narrator. Look forward to reading future books in this series.

I just finished Who Moved My Goat Cheese by Lynn Cahoon. This is a new first in the Farm to Fork Mystery Series and it is off to a great start! I love the wonderful cozy animal characters in this one and the cover is absolutely fun and very fitting. Cozy lovers and fans of Lynn will enjoy the twists and turns of main character Angie's past, present and future. This one is out March 6th from Lyrical Underground and is one you are going to want to read! I love the title of this one and I am a huge fan of goat cheese, now if I could only get a few goats of my own...

Who Moved My Goat Cheese? by Lynn Cahoon is the first book in a new series and a refreshing change of pace in cozy mysteries. I've only heard a few things about "farm-to-fork restaurants so I was intrigued by this as being a setting for a cozy series.
I liked both Angie and Felicia as they seem to be hard working young women who want a fresh start in life. Ms. Cahoon's descriptive writing makes the setting in Idaho come to life as we travel with Angie while she is lining up local vendors for her and Felicia's new restaurant, The County Seat. Angie's neighbors and the local residents seemed friendly and welcoming to Angie and Felicia as they scrambled to get ready for their grand opening. I liked Mr. Moss, in spite of his grumpy attitude, and I understood why Angie wanted his murderer found; but there were a couple of times that I felt that Angie went beyond some polite inquiries with the local residents. The plot is quickly paced, the clues were well hidden and there seemed to be plenty of suspects as Angie searched for the killer. I did catch on right before the reveal and that wrapped up the threads nicely. I was glad to see that Ms. Cahoon included the grand opening of the restaurant so that readers could see the end result of all of Angie and Felicia's hard work. I would love to visit The County Seat and enjoy a farm-to-fork meal.

I liked both Angie and Felicia as they seem to be hard working young women who want a fresh start in life. Ms. Cahoon's descriptive writing makes the setting in Idaho come to life as we travel with Angie while she is lining up local vendors for her and Felicia's new restaurant, The County Seat. Angie's neighbors and the local residents seemed friendly and welcoming to Angie and Felicia as they scrambled to get ready for their grand opening. I liked Mr. Moss, in spite of his grumpy attitude, and I understood why Angie wanted his murderer found; but there were a couple of times that I felt that Angie went beyond some polite inquiries with the local residents. I also like the possible romance for Angie as Ian seemed to be one of the "good guys".

Angie Turner has moved into her grandmother’s house following her death. She and her friend Felicia have decided to open a Farm to Fork restaurant called The County Seat. For their business to be a success they did to find enough local farms and dairies to meet their needs. The leader of the local farmer’s market group has decided the girls are too corporate to work with his group. Angie is doing her best to convince him otherwise. While at the speaking to the man she meets “Old Man Moss”. He owns and operates a goat dairy farm. He invites her out to see his place and they come to an agreement for working together. The next day Angie is shocked to find out that Moss is dead. Someone must have killed him not long after her visit. She feels connected to this man, he and her grandmother were friends. She decides while finding vendors for the restaurant she is going to do a little investigation of her own.
There is so much I loved about this series debut.
It starts will the theme, farm to table dining. This type of restaurant is popping up across the country. The dilemma of finding sources for your proteins and produce is true and it can make or break a restaurant. I sure hope Angie and Felicia have a very successful go of it.
Lynn Cahoon has created wonderful characters. I love the friendship Angie and Felicia have, they work well together and are smart enough to know living together would be too much. Angie has settled in on the farm with her dog Dom, her chicken Mabel, and newly adopted goat, Precious, while Felicia takes the apartment above the restaurant. We meet a lot of the residents of River Vista as the girls line up everything they need for the restaurant and snoop out the killer. I was sorry to see Mr. Moss die, he was a great character for the small amount of time he was alive within these pages. The characters were all very relatable and I am excited to see them evolve.

I just love this first book in the newest series by Lynn Cahoon! Even though I had pegged the killer, the twist was great and I had no idea that was coming. I have the second book and will be reading it very soon, I'm sure!
Angie Turner and her best friend/business partner, Felicia Williams, were getting ready to open the first farm-to-table type restaurant in the River Vista, ID area. Everything was going to be great: they had their employees lined up, their restaurant was just about ready for guests and Angie had even managed to make friends with the farmers' market manager, Ian, who had not seemed too friendly to begin with. She even managed to talk to Gerald Moss, the town curmudgeon goat farmer, and since he knew her grandma, from whom she'd inherited her place, he was agreeable to selling her goat cheese for her various dishes. When the old man was murdered, Angie felt a personal draw to investigate this murder since she thought everyone needed someone on their side--and Gerald didn't have an abundance of friends. She ended up with an adorable baby goat that she adopted that had belonged to Gerald. Dom, her St. Bernard puppy, would just have to get used to it.
When the killer realized Angie was looking into the case, things heated up a bit during the showdown but it all turned out great, along with the County Seat restaurant grand opening. I can't wait to see what future books hold for Ian and Angie because it looks very promising!
Just as with the other two series of Lynn Cahoon's that I've read/am in the process of reading, she's introduced a very fun and likable group of characters in this series as well. Felicia is a best friend like no other and Angie's neighbor, Mrs. Potter, is like having her grandma back since they were best friends. I liked the sheriff too. He didn't get mean and reprimand her for investigating, only pointed out the dangers and said when you tell someone they can't do something, they just want to do it all the more, so that was why he wasn't going to tell her not to look into the case. Ian started out slightly rude but he definitely became a sweet guy and clearly would be my choice for Angie! ;) I liked how her new kitchen staff worked so well together just on the first practice run day.
I just loved little Precious, the baby goat that Angie adopted when Gerald was killed. I just hope she doesn't get all destructive like the goats in another series I've read lol. For now she's sweet and Dom, the St. Bernard is a big fuzzball that I would just like to hug! I'm sure before the summer is over, I'll be reading the next book in the series which just came out this week.

The only thing I liked about this book was about the Saint Bernard puppy Dom the chicken Mabel and the goat Precious.I like some of Lynn Cahoon series. But this one really wasn't interesting that much. It was about Angie the main character. She opened a restaurant The County Seat. Old man Miss was a goat cheese carrier he died. And Angie tried to find killer. The reason why I have 3stars because of the animals in it. Precious the goat Mabel the chicken and Dom the Saint Bernard pup

This was such a MEH book. OMGOSH. I didn't like the people, I didn't care about the story, and I was not shocked at ALL about who the killer was because it was so bloody obvious.
I am so not looking forward to reading the second one from NetGalley.

This was such a good first book in a series. Angie Turner is back in hometown in Idaho to open a restaurant with her friend, Felicia. They hit a rough patch when the local dairy farmer is found dead shortly after Angie met with him. He was friends with Angie's grandmother so she starts investigating his death. I really liked the characters. Angie and Felicia complement each other very well and I loved the addition of Angie's dog, Dom, and the pet goat, Precious, that is basically hers now.

Angie is the main character and she has come home to her old hometown after her grandmother has passed away. She is also looking for a fresh start with a new restaurant that she wants to open with her best friend. It is going to be called "The County Seat" and will be a farm to fork restaurant so that means lining up local farmers and producers to supply most if not all of the ingredients. When one of the suppliers she was going to rely on is murdered and she is fingered for being the last to visit Angie has to not only clear her name but find out who did the old man in.
This was a lot of fun and went by quickly it was so enjoyable. Angie isn't a helpless female sleuth or too nosy for her own good. She is a strong independent woman that is just living her life and gets involved in her "new" community.
I will definitely be reading more of the series to see what the future holds for Angie and company!

This definitely worked better than the first Cat Latimer book. The characters were likeable, the food sounds delicious, and it avoided a lot of the standard cliches: the POV character doesn't decide to date the sheriff, and there isn't a love triangle (although that may come in the second one). My main quibble is with the editing, for example, the passing of time doesn't seem consistent, and there are some obvious bloopers with who is where, when, that aren't clues related to the plot - which lost it a star in my rating. Still, overall a decent first in series, and I'll look out for some more.

This was my first read by an author I've heard amazing things about. I listened to the audio because it sounded like a fun read. I really enjoyed the character development and it always helps when the person telling the story uses different voices and it sounds like I'm listening to the actual person talking. I'm very happy I did the audio. Very enjoyable.
