Ryan James is settling into life in the Tweed Shire. He's made his passion for working on cars his livelihood, and created a mutually beneficial barter system with his tap-n-go hookups. What else could a man want in life? Certainly not to set his sights on a straight-arse bar manager who makes sure Ryan knows from the get-go he's not interested. Nope, not worth the hassle. ...more

I loved the way this book started, but after the attack on Matt things just got really sappy. Susan Reeves is an excellent writer, but this book was so sweet it made my teeth hurt.

Matt is nearing 30 & being kept in the closet by fearing his very homophobic father for good reason. After meeting Ryan he decides to take a chance. I loved the dialogue between them both. I loved that the whole book felt authentically Aussie without going over the top. Great story progression. Nan was awesome. It's laugh out loud funny with so many feels. OMG - the ending. So much love. Highly recommend!!

I won a copy of this book from the author in a FB comp.

Another great yarn, this time starring Ryan and Matt. This is a mm contemporary story set in Queensland / NSW. Updates on the characters from the earlier books in this series too.

Abuse triggers!

What a great read! Abuse at the hands of parents. What ever happened to unconditional love. A boy very deep in the closet, Matt meets Ryan and all bets are off. Lots of issues, homophobia and doubt...

Once again, Susan crafts a beautiful story that leaves you both satisfied and aching for more as the last page ends. Ryan and Matt's journey was one that sucked you in right from the beginning, rooting for Ryan to finally settle down and for Matt to make himself and his own happiness a priority. The secondary characters were well-rounded and engaging and the plot pacing was just right for the length. Authentically Australian and poignantly realistic, this was another incredible story from the Sh ...more

3 stars

An nice, enjoyable read. Liked the first half a lot, although the slightly jealous/possessive traits of one MC left me uncomfortable. The second half was very sickly sweet, despite the violence in the plot. A little more humour to cut the mushy dialogue would have helped this to 4 stars.

3.5 stars rounded up because despite the errors and the fact that a few times I skimmed through some repeated thoughts, I really liked the characters and the author nailed it.
