Out of My League was about Annie O'Connor, a freshman music major with a specialization in piano accompaniment. She describes herself as plain, is immature, unsure of herself and depends on her friends and the Internet for advice.

She is asked to be a piano accompanist for a theater production and meets a hot guy, Scott Stewart and the story is highlights her insecurity and interest in Scott. It was slow throughout and just didn't hold my interest reading about college and how silly some of the s

A refreshingly wonderful read!!!
A truly enjoyable story with a wonderful message at the end. The characters are like a lot of people we knew in our youth and enjoy as friends and/or family today. Among the messages is that being you is always best. The writing is wonderful and almost inspirational in its message.
It was hard to review this book without saying too much. You need to read it for yourself to discover its messages.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Annie's story

I loved that Annie was a piano player and at how skilled she was to be able step into a musical theater show with just a few rehearsals then complete a show. All while trying to attract the cute guy playing guitar. This was a fun read and very enjoyable.

Sweet, clean romance. Good message. For a younger audience, I'd say teens would enjoy it most. It was cute. 3.5 stars ...more

Out of My League by Jennifer McCoy Blaske is a must read for young people (or any people, for that matter), who doubt their ability to fit in to their personal society. The main character, although very talented, feels that she has to change herself...her appearance, speech, friends, etc. in order to impress a certain young musician. Annie's journey to realizing her value and accepting herself is enjoyably explored in this book. I would especially recommend this book for younger readers as a rem ...more
