I would recommend this book to be read for pre-k and kindergarten students during the autumn season. It is a good way to introduce the autumn unit or a trip to the pumpkin patch during halloween. There are many neat activities that can be done with this story as well. A good one would be carving jack-o-lanterns!

* Good beginning reader
* Short words and sentences
* Could be used to talk about Fall (seasons)
* The friends search for a pumpkin and then carve it with the help of an adult.
