Explore a rainbow of delicious foods in a book that’s indestructible! What green vegetable looks like a tree? Broccoli! Can you find a fruit that’s small and yellow? Lemon! Can you pick out two berries so red and sweet? Raspberry and strawberry!
Indestructibles is the trusted series for easing little ones into story time. Beloved by babies and their parents, Indestructibles are built for the way babies “read” (i.e., with their hands and mouths) and are: Rip Proof—made of ultra-durable tight-woven material Waterproof—can be chewed on, drooled on, and washed! Emergent Literacy Tool—bright pictures and few or no words encourage dialogic reading Portable—lightweight books can go anywhere, perfect for the diaper bag and for travel Safe for Baby—meets ASTM safety standards
This is probably my favourite in the Indestructibles series so far! I love these books. Babies learn with their hands and mouths and it's wonderful for them to be able to safely engage in books this early on and develop positive associations with reading. This one has it all: bright colours, lots of different foods and an array of wonderful adjectives. There is so much to enjoy and explore on each page. And it's lucky that the pages look good enough to eat, because it will probably go straight in baby's mouth!
All the foods in this book are grouped by color. There are red watermelons, orange pumpkins, yellow corn, green limes, and purple grapes, along with dozens more. We learn the names of all the different foods, including plums, kiwi, avocado, apricots, and radishes.
The writing is very simple, and just right for babies and toddlers learning their first words. The illustrations are bright and colorful, with a cartoony style and simple designs.
The book really does appear to be indestructible. I tried tearing one of the pages, and it wouldn't tear, although it crinkled up a little. I was surprised that the pages are so thin. This is NOT a board book. The pages are made of some kind of thick fiber, and there is no cover or spine. The pages are sewn together into a thin booklet. No wonder they say that babies could chew on it, and it is washable. Without a cover for babies to chew on, and no spine to get torn, the book really is indestructible!

Cute little indestructible book that provides bilingual illustrations of fruits and veggies with an encouragement to eat the rainbow “los alimentos de color rojo son riquísimos!”.
After a year, our copy has become quite wrinkled but has not torn once. It’s a fun way to learn the Spanish names for foods.
This book has GREAT illustrations, great colors that attract your eye immediately. I love that the text is in both English and Spanish which makes it more useful for teaching. I wish there were a board book option, but, as it says, it is truly indestructible.
This is a great choice to introduce food words to your baby! The indestructible format means that the baby can experience the story through touch as well. We read this book multiple times a week.
Simple vocabulary book with illustrations. I appreciate that it emphasizes the Spanish with a larger font size and includes synonyms when a food item has more than one name.
