I was young when I decided to save myself for love. It's earned me quite a reputation. Prude, loser, crazy religious freak. I’ve heard it all.
A fresh start in a new city is exactly what I need. Landing a job at the publishing company of the gorgeous Brian Wolfe is the icing on the cake.
When a familiar face shows up on my first day of work, I knew my fresh start would be over before it even began.
Brian
The first time I saw Mallory, it was like being struck by lightning. The most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen... and I can't touch her.
I couldn’t care less about the age difference, but she's an employee. If there was ever a deal breaker for me, that was it. Or at least that's what I told myself.
Finding out she's untouched changes everything. I've never wanted anything as much as I want to be her one and only.
If love is what it'll take to make her mine, that's exactly what I'm going to give her.
** The One and Only is a steamy romance novella with no cheating and a happy ending. 18+ **
When I know I don't have a ton of time to read a full blown novel, I pick up one of these quick and cheesy romance novellas that regularly hit the right spot. I usually hit up Alexa Riley, no explanation needed. However, Mia has become a quick favorite in this go to category for me. The writing was good and the story was written really well, overall I am impressed and it made for a lovely Sunday evening!
I don't usually suggest steamy reads. But I would recommend this one. It steers clear of most the cringeworthy stereotypes and situations. It is definitely good for guilty pleasure reading.
3.5 stars, it was just this close to be my favorite.
Simply because I enjoyed this author's writing and the plot is classic. I loved it! Plus the fact that she added older Hero element in it. Oooh, spicy! This book could be so much better if there are details in it; like Janice's role, it would be awesome if she become this.. Matchmaker in Mal and Wolfe's relationship. Or drama from Jeremy to add a wee bit drama in paradise.
But overall I enjoyed this book! Definitely a new author that I'll keep.
I loved this Mia Madison book about Mallory an assistant for publisher Brian Wolfe. She’s just recently moved to New York from AZ and is ready to begin fresh. Imagine her surprise when she begins work and discovers that Jeremy, nephew to the big boss is working there as well. He went to school with Mallory and knows her state of virgin status. When Jeremy learns that his uncle uncle lusts after the beautiful Mallory it is game on. This is a cute romantic romp between sweet Mallory and her older experienced boss, but it is Mallory who learns how to get the upper hand. It’s a quick, fun read and would have earned 5 stars except for editing errors.
Quickie Review: It has been sometime since I read one of Mia Madison’s books and it was just as good as I remembered. This was a boss/employee romance with a side of ex boyfriend’s uncle. Still an all around forbidden romance. While the story was fantastic and the romance was amazing, there was still something preventing me from giving it 5 stars. I just can’t put my finger on it. It could be the whole he falls first but yet he can’t commit when it’s blatantly obvious he loves her. Still, all in all a really good read. 4 Stars.
The love story between Brian and Mallory was sweet. Her reasons for waiting until she found the right person is a valid reason. Too bad there aren't more people who feel this way. The chemistry is there between Brian and Mallory but there is also a sweetness to their story. The story wasn't just about sex. It is about the sweetness of falling in love and trusting your heart to someone forever. I just wish the book had been longer
Office romance with sexy, brilliant boss tempting young, sweet assistant. Brian tries and mostly succeeds in fighting his attraction. But Mallory goes all in.
But fear reigns supreme. But a push and nudge gets the job done. Quick read, insta love, and HEA!
Mallory & Brian story was enjoyable. Mallory was wise beyond her years which helped with her emotions & relationship with Brian. Brian was great the way he put Mal feelings and needs first. There was a little drama and misunderstanding in the story. Overall enjoyable story. The sex scenes where not bad.
A straightforward, rather tame, May-December story (~17 years age difference). Nothing I have never read before, but a decent read because of two likeable protagonists. The major issue is trust. I particularly like this:
"...the nature of love relies upon opening yourself up to vulnerability and trusting another person completely not to break that trust."
Mallory is an almost-excruciatingly grounded new graduate, starting her first job in the big city. She has "terms," but still wants a social life. Brian the boss is as gobs, acted as she is, that he wants to engage her terms, and be her social life.
Good character work in a short space. Noticed a couple of typos.
Loved it "Brian didn’t strike me as a romantic kind of guy, but I somehow knew he would understand my feelings. Not that I dared to mention them yet. All I could do was hang on to the feeling and hope that one day, we could look back on this together and agree that it was the moment where we really began."
Ok, the bit with her roommate/BFF and her roommie's boyfriend getting all up in her business and trying to keep the heroine and the hero apart from one another was very annoying but otherwise, I enjoyed this.
Mallory was waiting for her one true love and thinking that she was never going to find it Brian Wolfe comes into her life. Brian was such a good guy even being her boss. He fell hard for Mallory from the moment he met her.
This was a good quick read. I didn't want a long story but i still needed the steam and story line and this gave me just that. Some moments were eye roll worthy, other times it was a relief to read sometime with not too much anguish
This books thoroughly surprised me. It was super cute! It was light and funny and just the thing I needed after a stressful night of slaving in front of my computer and maxing out my brain.
I haven't read a book by this author in a while and needed something that would really make me fall in love all over again. And she didn't just reach expectations she soared past them!!!
I liked him and thought he was a good guy and he put her needs first. I thought she was unrealistic and delusional. She contradicted herself on the intimacy and sex. She was into the guy and just waited or played hard to get.
Another brilliant story by Mia Madison. Mallory and Brian had excellent chemistry, even though Brian is Mallorys boss and he had to break his own rules to have her.
I really loved how Mallory was young but very mature... She had the balls to say the “I love you s” first, then kick him out right after sex.. that was the best. You go girl..!
MIa Madison always writes the best books, i love her steamy older men younger woman. So good! They really draw you in and cant put the book down until finished!!
I expected a little more from this book in terms of older man younger woman encounters but I felt it lacked any real chemistry. I like this author and hope to read.
Way too short, but the ending was satisfying. Definitely one of my guilty reads. The storyline was cliché and the characters weren't new, but it was fun while it lasts.
