Summary: Received for an honest review.
As the VooDoo Dolls story continues, the secrets behind Kat's abilities are finally revealed giving the reader a glimpse into the difficulties the paranormal society has in policing the different groups. While this is going on the danger increases as the number of vampires increase the Council of Magic approaches the Dolls asking if they would be willing to become an intermediary selling some of their magical spells to their customers. Add those complications to the growing danger, Kat's mysterious past, a possible new love interest for Kat if she can resolve an earlier relationship and a young woman who is worried about her boyfriend and you have an action packed story that never lets up. The fascinating part is that nothing in this story is exactly what it appears to be leaving the reader to wonder what could happen next. There is so much more yet to be resolved with the VooDoo Dolls, the shifter pack, and the danger still at large. How it will all end is yet to be known.
I really enjoyed this last book in this trilogy, but it felt like there definitely should have been more to this series. We have had Jenna's story and now Kat's, but didn't get to read the other 2 sisters' stories.
This one focusses on Kat, her developing relationship with Damien, one of the wolf shifters, and her burning need to find out what she really is. When she goes to the Witches' Council with her sister Jenna, the head witch is literally a witch towards her. Kat can feel her instant hatred, but has no idea why. Upon leaving the building, one of the other witches make a comment that sets her mind reeling about her shifter powers and why she doesn't shift.
At the same time, the rogue vampires are heating things up, getting ready to take down the vampire queen herself and the Voodoo Doll girls and the wolf pack find themselves embroiled in what is going on. Through various allies, they find out more about what is coming, but it's not until Kat and Rico demand answers from Rebecca, the witch coven's leader, that they work out more!
A huge war is a coming and Kat knows she needs to develop her powers even more to help win this one!
I really liked Kat in this book - she wasn't quite the domineering sister that she could be in the other books, but definitely a stronger, more determined character.
I wish there had been a couple more books in this series, especially with that ending about Rebecca! We definitely need to know more!
Kat Deveroix is a member of the Voodoo Dolls and recently found out she is part shifter. Problem is she can't shift and shifter DNA is dominant so there has to be another reason. In their shop a woman talks to Kat and Jenna about a problem with her boyfriend but it soon becomes apparent that there is a much bigger problem and it is one that the shifter pack thought they had removed some time ago. As part of working out the new monster problem Kat has to decide between Ivan and her new man. Strap in as we find out so much more about who Kat is.
A great story explaining about who Kat is, how she became that way, and the developments afterwards. Finally some romance for some of the Dolls which was long overdue. Well written and everything was clear and easy to feel and experience for the characters. The ending was a little rushed and the last sentence needed details as I think we all wanted it to be horrible/painful for that character. However - I am GUTTED/ANNOYED/pick your word that this is the end of the trilogy when there are still so MANY things for the characters to achieve. No proper HEA for each of the Dolls, and I have questions floating around in my head.
Exceptional ParaNoRmal treat! The highly anticipated third book in this exceptionally intriguing magical series delivered all that I had hoped for and more. It was a genuine treat for a avid but picky reader, with the fullblooded paranormal menagerie that has become like old friends throughout this series. The intrigue, and surprises they captivated and made it into a definite "one of those books you just cant put down"!! There is a lot of PNR books and few stand out, but this whole series does. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what causes it to be outstanding, it has so many things that contributes. I guess it is the total impression, a very lasting positive one, that makes it so, or it can perhaps be the fact that it has high IT factor! This is a series that I would say you really don't wanna miss out on!
Kat thought she was human, until her vampire friend had a taste. When he tells her she tastes like a shifter, she has to know more. This on top of working with the VooDoo Dolls, a band made up of her sisters, working in their VooDoo store, training to fight with their benefactors, the local wolf shifter pack, because war is coming. Rogue vamps and werewolves have joined together to take over as the "paranormal kings", their goal: to kill the vamp queen and every shifter they can get their teeth into! Great plot and characters, with lots of fast paced action and twists. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
I got this book free for signing up to be an ARC reader for the author. This story was very well put together and flowed great ! It's kind of light hearted in the beginning but quickly moves into danger, lots of questions, and lots of magic involved. The local witch , head of the witch council, thinks she is in control but soon finds out that necessity waits for no one with danger all around. Kat may be in charge of her family but the pack, and pack law, will provide protection whether she wants it or not. A very interesting and fast paced book.
I really enjoyed this series, The Voodoo Dolls characters are so real like you can imagine sitting in the corner and watching how they are. Even though the trilogy is over I really hope that we will see more of the sisters and the rest of the pack! I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
Our heroine doesn't know who her family was and in this book she finds out, only what's left of her family doesn't want her. There is a war coming and our heroine was prophesied to be a major player in it. There is a lot left to be told in this world, let's hope the author decides to tell us.
This is this the final book of the trilogy, and I've now read every single one. My single is complaint is why have I finshed them all already.......? Beautifully written and constructed this has to be the best one so far. Fast paced, full of suspense, no glitches in the story line. A fine trilogy for fans of the paranormal, and a beautiful final episode.
Thrills, chills and battle Royal. Vampires causing trouble as usual but our Voodoo Dolls and company hold their own. Kat & Damian finally connect and take dating slowly. Jenna & Rico go on a double date with Kat & Damien. More of Kat’s history revealed and it just keeps building. I look forward to next book. Read using my KU subscription.

Fun wrap up of this trilogy, except for the ending which was a mini-cliffhanger . Love these girls. These are people I would be friends with. I hope this isn't the last I see of the Voodoo dolls.
This was just an okay series for me. I didn't care for the first book but I wanted to finish the series to see what happened. It got better with the other two. It's an okay story but I really don't like books that jump from different points of view.
Come to find out Rebecca is Kay's aunt but hates Kat's guys because Kat is a hybrid, half wolf and half which and is her sister's child. They have a doctor a fight with the rogues.
This is a third of the series about the Voodoo Dolls. Each book gives a brief narrative by each character as the story progresses giving you an insight to each one. Shows good promise for future books. I enjoyed the series
I really enjoyed reading this series. Fast paced. Exciting. Characters worked well together. I can't wait to read the next set, to see what happens to Rebecca. SLA
Hendricks is amazing. I love NOLA to begin with and all the magic and mystery of the city. Add in this series and its amazing. The Voodoo dolls need to continue because even after several books - its just not enough. This installment of the trilogy (I hope that's not correct) is all about Kat who is one of the Voodoo Dolls and has learned she is part shifter. But as the tag line for the book says - she can't shift ....or can she? Kat and Jenna meet a woman who makes them realize a past nightmare has come back and all this while Kat's love life is confusing. The ending felt like it could have been drawn out a bit more and maybe a better feeling of the trilogy being over. Hopefully all the reviews convince Hendricks to continue on with the series!
