This is the first book I've read by James Robinson and I'm pleased to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was worried that by starting at book 3 of the Johnson Family Legacy series I would be lost and not know what was going on, this wasn't the case at all and this book can definitely be enjoyed as a stand alone novel. As a side note though, I would like to go back and read books one and two to learn more about the characters, especially Maxine who I adored!

Lots of adult romances take a while to

This is the story of the Johnson Family who it seems has quite a bit of family drama after a long wedding trip.
Johnson Sr has decided to leave his family and set up with his lover and new child and this leads to his wife Maxine falling into depression and an attempted suicide, and if it wasnt for her son who saved her she wouldnt be here.
Then we see Johnson Jr who had been flirting and having a liason with the maid of

It's the aftermath of the crazy and eventful wedding of their close friend, which you can read about in the delightful The Long Goodbye, although I wouldn't say it was necessary to read it, but it does give you a good feeling of the characters. And.....we dive straight into the sexual tension and desire Samuel and Tabitha feel after their renewal of love they have found for each other after so many years of a declining marriage, after all making up is the fun part!

So much is going on, past

Doctors are pretty notorious --they are known for ignoring their families-Samuel is no different. Can Samuel change to save his marriage?

The language is still sleazy, sometimes to the extreme, but at least it is mostly between a husband and wife. Samuel and his wife have gotten back together--but they still have a couple of issues to overcome. As for the rest of the family--breakups happen--someone attempts suicide-is stopped in the nick of time and then becomes reunited with a long ago

After a family fiasco in Atlanta, it looked like Samuel Jr. and his wife Tabitha were going to break up. His father, Samuel Sr. had announced that he was going to live with his longtime secret girlfriend, who also had a daughter by him. Even though his mother and father separated, Samuel Jr. and Tabitha worked through their marital problems and came out stronger. But getting back to Pittsburgh, they find that its going to be a struggle overcoming the things that had caused their problems in the ...more

I wasn't sure what to make of this book when I first started reading it. It kind of hit me like a ton of bricks, especially with the sex scenes between Samuel and his wife at the hotel. That was kind of a wowza opening.

This book is 100 % family drama, with infidelities, divorce. You name it and it probably happened in this book. As I read, I really thought that this book would make a good film or even a tv show. There are so many laugh out loud moments, especially where Samuel's mom, Maxine is

I picked up The Long Journey Home and put it down a couple of times. The beginning was having a hard time drawing me in but I am so glad I stuck with it. Sometimes I just want to stop when the beginning of a book doesn't hook me but I would have missed out on a great novel.

This book has every piece of family drama one can think of in it. And, yet, it's not my family so I really enjoy reading it. The big Thanksgiving dinner, which I presume is on the front cover, is probably one of my favorite

I read the previous two books and enjoyed them. But (isnt there always a but!?) it has been a really long time and this installment definitely had a different vibe than the first two.

With that said, I didnt love it but I didnt hate it. I did like it.

It was a little bit harder for me to read because it was so different, but I finished it and I liked it.

The book picks up where we left off the aftermath of the airport. It deals with parental divorce, other families, infidelity, making changes as a

I have an unspoken rule for myself that I don't jump into a series without reading the first two. I feel like you lose a piece of the characters history. That being said, I found this series very enjoyable! The family was very well-developed into a believable dynamic with plenty of drama. The sensitive issues of marriage abandonment, suicide, family troubles, etc., are gracefully executed with enough rawness that pulls you right into the middle of them. You ache when they ache. You cry when they ...more

The Long Journey Home is book three in the Johnson Family Legacy series, and boy does this family certainly have lot of drama going on in their lives!

I must confess though this can be stand alone I really do feel it would have been better having read books one and two beforehand (I have them on my Kindle now but just didn't have time to read them before this review was due) The story flows well with enough of a backstory thrown in at the relevant times but there seems to have been a lot happened

I liked the book but I didnt love it. I felt like I really should have read the previous 2 books because I wasnt exactly sure about what was going on. I will most definitely be reading the previous 2 books then re-reading this one so I do know what was going on! I thought this one did have a good message with it though. ...more
