Christina's Tapestry

Rate this book
Christina's Tapestry N. J. Walters Christina Beaumont impulsively buys an expensive tapestry that she sees in a shop window, having no idea how that one action will change her life. The magical tapestry not only transports her to Javara, a world that resembles medieval Earth, but also into the arms of two massive warriors who both want to claim her.

Jarek and Marc, Brothers of the House of Garen, are elated to discover the tapestry has delivered Christina to them. Women are scarce in their world, so the men of a family must compete for the right to be her husband. But before she can choose, Christina first has to experience the lovemaking of both brothers, separately and together. Jarek and Marc use all their considerable sexual skills to pleasure her in ways she's never imagined.

But the tapestry also offers another choice. Christina could return to her own world. Jarek and Marc join forces to convince Christina to stay with them even as they fight a rival family for the right to keep her as their very own.

Why do I read these kinds of books?? I mean the summary of this book doesn't even sound that great and yet here I am spending my night reading it.. Well it's short it took me a couple hours to read but still.

A tapestry magically brings a girl to a medieval world. She finds out that she has to screw two brothers and decide if she wants to marry one of them in 3 days. OH but bonus she still gets to sleep with the other brother once a week after she gets married. -- thats the storyline.

Let me just say that if this happened to me and it was the freaking Hemsworth brothers I had to screw for 3 days and decide who to marry.. I would still go home! You can not, NOT decide who you will spend the rest of your life with in 3 days. Enjoy the sex, go home with a crazy story and move on. Also think of all the things she gave up from the current world. I would die with out showers. There is no man I would give up showers and toilets for. And netflix, Sephora, movies, cars, refrigerators, microwaves, ok I'm just going to say electricity (candles would be a bitch to light. I fall on my face walking on straight ground with all my lights on. If I had to navigate by candle light, I would be dead.)

Okay so besides all the things she has to give up, she also has to sleep with her hubbys brother once a week. I know for 3 days they have all been sleeping together but that system is going to cause problems. I have read books where 3 people are in a relationship. Everything is equal and they all claim the kids. Marc gets totally 100% screwed. He can never claim a child and he can't get married. He has fallen in love with a women who is married to his brother. But he won't ever be able to get over it because he has to sleep with her once a week. Its just messed up!!

This book also need a lot of editing. I wish I would have counted how many times Jarek came out as Jared. IT threw me off the first time, I was like shit she's banging another guy but no I figured out it was Jarek. There was also a lot of his/her mix ups. That always bothers me.

Anyways, the book was a waste. I didn't like the story at all. Honestly the whole time I just felt bad for Marc. Thats pretty much all I thought about the whole time I read the book. So no I won't be reading anymore from this series.

I really like this concept of a magic carpet bringing someone to another place to meet their mate, or in this case mates.

Oooh, la, la, just wait until you hear what I have to tell you... I just had a sensational sensually stimulating visit to the past where I met the strong and captivating Jarek, Marc and Christina. These delighted me with their magical romance full of temptation and some really hot and sexy love scenes including menage scenes. The relationship itself was a bit slow in catching up to the sizzling chemistry that burned between these characters but hey who can blame Christina for being a bit slow on the uptake when she just got yanked from her time and place and dropped right in the laps of two super sexy warriors, who by their very natures would turn any red-blooded woman's brain to mush. I could certainly connect with her and the two warriors as they explained the prophecy concerning the tapestry and why there romance had to move at such a fast pace.

Which kept things hot and steamy throughout and had me glued to the magical pages and N.J. Walters brought the story to such vivid life that I could practically smell the fresh air and I pictures each and every scene as they happened and let me tell you, that I was quite flushed by the time Christina made her decision about whether to stay or to go home. I will definitely be awaiting the release of the next Tapestry series romance, meanwhile I think I will be on the lookout for my very own 'tapestry'.

This book is unashamedly erotica, but that is not a bad thing. Unlike many erotic books “Christina’s Tapestry” has a real story wrapped around the sex; the sex scenes do not feel gratuitous, even though they are the real point of the book.

Without giving too much away, this is a book where the reader must employ the willing suspension of disbelief. Christina buys a tapestry which she cannot really afford but must have, and it eventually transports her to a different place, where she meets two brothers, Jarek and Marc. In this new land, she must choose either to stay, and to marry one of the warrior brothers, or return to her own time and place, never to see them again. The climax (no pun intended) of the book is Christina’s choice of what to do.

This is not great literature, but it does not pretend to be, nor does it have to be. This is fluff, but it is fun fluff, and a pleasant way to pass a few leisure hours. You could go further and do worse than “Christina’s Tapestry,” and I have.

I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Keep the ice water close by when you read this one!

Christina doesn't have much of a life. She's pretty much alone except for a very self-centered friend. After being ditched by said friend in a bar, she walks home in the rain and passes by a little shop. She sees a beautiful tapestry she is compelled to purchase. She eventually is pulled into another world, one that appears similar to Medieval England. Similar, except the way brothers compete for their bride.....

What follows is not for the prudish. This book isn't going to win a Pulitzer Prize. But if you want a fun, fast-paced, sex filled romp with enough story to keep it interesting, you will be quite "satisfied" with this one! Very entertaining .

I received a copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I have loved the other books I have read by N.J. Walters and I was delighted to find that this book was just as good if not better than her others. The two main characters were really well written. The story was well thought out and the writing engaged my interest. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

This is a very quick and very sexy read. The sex scene’s were hot, but unfortunately there is not much story. There is very little world building. It’s a medieval world, there are few woman, and men fight for them. But that’s all we know. There isn’t any development of the culture. And although they seem to revere women since they are so few, I didn’t like the way that women seemed to be regarded as property, sex toys, and brood mares. I also wish we got to know something about Jarek and Marc. All the three characters did was have sex. There was not one actual conversation between Christina and either of the brothers. How can you choose a husband when you don’t know anything about either man? I can see why the window of time to choose was so short, a lonely woman blinded by orgasms isn’t thinking clearly enough to ask basic questions. I would read the next book in the series. However I hope the author does take some time for world building and character development, while maintaining steamy sex.

Christina's Tapestry by N.J. Walters is certainly steamy! Wow, you may need to have a cool drink close by to lower your temperature!
Christina is single, a bit plump, and believes her size holds her back from finding the right man for her. Dating is chore, so it is easier to be alone and listen to her friend complain of her awful relationship than to put herself out there. Walking home in the rain one night, she sees a tapestry in the window of a second hand shop and is instantly compelled to buy it. The tapestry is expensive, beautiful, and irrationally Christina decides to max out her credit card and buy it.
The tapestry depicts two strong, handsome warriors and a castle in a medieval-like setting. Lucky Christina when these two warriors start to show up in her X-rated dreams.
When Christina wakes up in the warriors' presence she is shocked but instantly attracted to them both. How will she choose between Jarek and Marc? The chemistry and absolute sexiness jumps off the pages. Seriously, this is one super hot, hot, hot read. It's not all heat, plot is good and the characters are likable and realistic. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy hot stories!

Thanks for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

The cover and blurb caught my eye.

This is a remake with a new cover I'm guessing because this was released before. Christina passes a storefront on a rainy night and see's a tapestry hanging in the window that she has to have. She forks out two thousand dollars even though she is living penny to penny without so much as a blink. Taking the tapestry home she begins to have erotic encounters in her dreams.
Jared and Marc are two brothers waiting for the tapestry to bring them a bride. The two will compete to have Christina, and both will share her life.
This is a novelette sized read and jumps around without the full fleshing a good book needs. It's a short sexy read with lots of ménage material as they compete for her. Three stars of entertainment!

This is a quick read that will suck you in right from the beginning.

Christina finds a tapestry, no wait, the tapestry finds Christina. She is enamored by the two men on it, so much so that she has an erotic dream about it. A dream that almost seemed real. When she wakes up in a different time and place, she is not prepared to find the two men from the tapestry gazing at her, longingly. Nor is she prepared for what will happen. She has 3 days to decide if she will stay with Jarek and Marc in their time or return home to her time. Here she is treated with respect and love. At home, she is a nobody. What will Christina decide? Stay with her lovers or go home? Only time will tell.

This is a quick book. A lunchtime read that will have your afternoon running on high. I will be reading the next book in this series.

Loved this book. A magical tapestry transports Christina back in time to medieval Scotland where she has three days to determine if she will stay in this ancient time. If she stays, she will chose which of the two brothers, Marc and Jarek, will be her husband. Once married, the brother she does not chose will have one night a week in her bed. The book is well written and the sexual encounters between the three if them are highly erotic. I would highly recommend this book as a great read. I received a copy of this book thru Netgalley.

Christina’s Tapestry by N. J. Walters is the First Book in the Tapestries series. This is the story of Christina Beaumont Jarek, and Marc.
Christina is taken back in time where she meets Jarek and Marc...two hot brothers. Christina is attracted to both but it appears she will have to choose one to marry.
I must say this was a very hot read that was impossible to put down. I didn't read this book (to my shame!) to first time it came out so when I saw it with the new cover I had to read it. The cover is just hot too!
Really enjoyed their story!

This was a wonderful fantasy romance! Swept away to a magical place where men fight for your hand, and, woe is a maiden, you get not one, but two, brothers to keep your warm and satisfied. The only catch? Staying or going back to your boring, unsatisfying, life in the modern world. The fact said brothers are both trying to satisfy you the most so you pick them to be your lawful husband, well, darn, what a sacrifice to make! Super sexy, and a great tale to read

This book was somethin... and I’m not entirely sure I was impressed...
This book seemed to be all sex with a boring predictable plot, don’t get me wrong

I’ve read from this author before, big fan but this book was way to predictable.

Christina doesn't have much of a life outside of work and a very egotistical friend. Having a bit of cushion, Christina believes that is the cause of her dating woes. She thinks its easier being alone than to put herself out there and face rejection.

After being ditched by her friend for the umpteenth time, she decides to walk home in the rain. Passing by a quaint shop, she's drawn to a tapestry displayed in the window. She has to see it! She makes a hasty decision and purchases it!

The tapestry is of two warriors with a castle. She starts having dreams that depict those two warriors. One night her dreams become real when she appears back in time with those two warriors, Jarek and Marc. This is a lot to understand! The brothers then compete for their chosen bride! She is attracted to both of them. How will she choose??

The sexiness of this book is off the charts hot!! I enjoyed the plot and the characters were likable. I could feel her struggle with having to choose and possible even leave this place. It was a intriguing time travel read I recommend!

Porn, which isnt that bad usually. I like the idea of two love interests that get a little smutty time that isnt a reverse harem but it was too obvious which she would choose.

I did love this book, I could practically smell the sex and masculinity draining out of it. It was a refreshing book, however I'm a little confused on why there is a shortage of women. I wondered at first when Mara explained a witch had watched as sorrow, misery and pain were seen in the lands or something along that line and that the men would destroy each other, I wondered if she meant that the witch had cursed then and decided they didn't deserve women until they could behave and see what they were missing, maybe because there were too many wars and women and children were being slaughtered, I don't know but I would like to be enlightened about that factor. I did however love the heat and spiceyness in the book, but I would have liked to have gotten to know the brothers better besides learn the fact one was kind and gentle the other a little rough but lovely at the same time, and I felt that Christiana should have gotten to know the men as people better not just have sex and see which one she had more of a connection with. But I still like it none the less, it's a good steamy read.

Overall: This was just the book I needed to get me out of my reading funk. This book was fun, sexy, laugh out loud funny and also very romantic in it's own way. From the start i LOVED Christina's character and when Jarek and Marc were added to the mix it made the whole story even better. I loved the sex scenes because they were the right amount of sex with it being over the top. There was two things i thought was wrong with the book. #1 Sex on a horse. The way it was described in the book still has my mind trying to figure out how it is even possible. But it was fun to read, so we'll let it slide. #2 I know that the girl is suppuse to only marry one brother. But personally would've had her marry both Jarek and Marc because it seemed that she cared for them both equally. Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who needs a fun read.

Characters: Jarek ; Christina ; Marc

Page Turner: I didn't put the book down, it was just too good.

Series Cont: Yes, but with different brothers i believe.

Recommend: I HIGHLY recommend it.

I read this book in the early 2000s when it was published under Ellora's Cave so when I had recently noticed that the Tapestries series was being re-released I knew I had to do a re-read.

I do remember really enjoying this series and that really has not changed. This story was a quick read but kept me entertained. What I really liked about this story was the low angst, I've read this type of story before but usually there would be a villain involved or someone doesn't want her to stay in that world so will attempt to sabotage. This story did not have any of that, it was more the conflict of Christina, if she wanted to stay in this world or not. She really does not have much in her world but she was fearful of leaving all that she knew behind. But then again, in this world there is Jarek and Marc who adores and lusts for her just as she is. I really loved that. The sex scenes are steamy as I remember, especially with this publishing company gearing more towards erotica.

But all in all this was an enjoyable read, I'm looking forward to continuing with the series.

Ok, it's an erotic story, sex aside, was focused on Christina's point of view of what is happening and how the tapestry transported her back in time. It would have been nice to have more explaination as to why there is a shortage of females and brothers must share (the brother sharing part is easy to understand with the shortage of females). There must be some kind of conflict between the brothers,Jarek and Marc, over the affection of Christina. Marc takes a step-back for his brother to claim Christina but he desires her just as much. It would have been better if some conflict was there instead of just the 4 Bakra brothers showing up to claim her. All this to claim a wife and partner for the brother she don't marry. The tapestry idea is interesting enough for me to look at the other books in the series, Barka's Bride is next, wonder how that will turn out with 4 brothers especially when the tapestery is suppose to deliver one bride each generation.

Subtitle for this book: The Flying Carpet. ;)

Well, let me start by saying this is NOT the typical book I read (this is way more my friend Robin's genre!) but the description had me cracking up so I had to download it and see for myself.

Typical erotica/romance novel meets sci-fy. I paged through it and after cloroxing my eyes, I came over to review. =)

If you like these kinds of books, you'll love the brother on brother action. The time-warping tapestry was a little much.

Hopefully she's happy in her new, alternate world with the brothers. Since this is book one of the series, I'm wondering, is it the same tapestry? a different one? a series of tapestries that transport women into a different world? I probably won't continue with this series to find out.

The story is good, all about a woman who has really no life in the present is suddenly whisk away to a magical land where two guys vowed her with attention. I mean what woman wouldn't want that?

Anyway, the one thing I can comment upon is the unfairness of the contest between the brothers. We all know the older brother will win, but I wish that they would jut share the woman and have equal rights with her and her future children. Also I don't like the fact that Christina will become a horny sexpot the minute she sees the guys.

On the other hand, it has some good scenes. Despite my earlier comments, the sex between them are really hot. There are also some emorional moments that I almost feel sad for them. Overall this is an interesting and fun read.

Christina is drawn to a strange tapestry in a shop window and buys it on impulse. With the help of the tapestry she finds herself in another world and having to choose between leaving or choosing a husband between the two brothers Marc and Jerek. The story was fun and enjoyable and in the send very sweet. But frankly I think her easy acceptance of waking up in another world a bit hard to believe.
