Don’t Go

Rate this book
CEO Henry Osbourne has only ever desired one woman—the one who got away. New York Times and #1 ebook bestselling author Alexa Riley returns with Don’t Go , a virgin-hero insta-love contemporary romance in the For You series

I’ve spent the past ten years convincing myself that what I felt for her was teenage infatuation. That love so consuming couldn’t be real. Then everything went to shit, and in an instant, she was gone.

Kory Summers knew returning to New York meant running into Henry. The way her heartbeat picked up at just the thought was nervousness—not anticipation. Oh, no. She never expected to find him on her doorstep looking as handsome as ever.

She’s mine. She always has been. I’ve waited this long for her…but time’s up. I’ll use all my power, all my connections, to convince her she’s the one.

Kory ran from a boy, but a man of power and persuasion now stands in his place.

➳Filthy, sweet, romantic, enticing... All words that describe the kind of writing Alexa Riley write and never seem to get old...

➳After reading Miles' story with Mallory in Everything for Her, and getting the chance to meet the Ozbourne men, it was no surprise to me that Henry would follow his father's steps both in the real world and also in the romanticized, possessive, alpha side. Though the story has flashbacks of Henry meeting Kory back in highschool and being attracted to her there, and the flashbacks gives us an insight of the cousins that we meet from Stay Close and Hold Tight, some of the scenes went outside the writing zone Alexa Riley usually takes upon. I'm not saying I didn't like it, since it's always refreshing to read new ideas and unique styles of writing from my favorite authors. However, the story seemed to lack a lot of the drama that I would expect coming from AR in any book by Carina Press. Yes, the dilemma of Kory's "ex" is present and the whole white-knight-in-shining-armor vibes coming from Henry is swoon worthy he stumbles upon her problems, but I guess I just got used to the idea of reading a tad bit more of the drama side in this series.

➳Overall, I loved and devoured the book in one reading. I will never get tired of Alexa Riley type of writing because filthy, smuty, and right down possessive alpha males will always be welcomed in my reading "room"/ world. Thank you to Carina Press for providing an advance copy of this novel. I sure am looking forward to more novels like this one coming from AR in the near future...

It's Live!!!!!!!

**ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

We finally get Henry's story! The only child of Miles and Mallory, he had some big OTT shoes to fill if he wanted to be like his dad. A misunderstanding tore them apart 10 years prior and Henry was not going to let anything/anyone come between them again. Not as stalker-like as his dad (his dad NEVER would had let 10 years pass) he pursued her relentlessly, once she was back in town.

- no cheating
- no om/ow drama
- no violence
-10 year separation
-good epilogues 1, 4 and 9 years later but I wanted more details...for example how many kids did they have??

Henry has always had the example of his parents love to learn from. He knows he doesn't want to fill his time with meaningless relationships and is willing to wait. One look at Kory tells him he was right for waiting.

These two get one night, on prom night, before a miss-understanding tears them apart. The next time these two meet, they are adults and realize that it wasn't just teenage infatuation that drew them together. Henry has had enough of Kory running and he won't let her get away this time.

I loved getting a glimpse into this couple as teenagers before we get their full story as adults. It's a shame they missed so much time together, but Henry sure makes up for it when he finds her again.

Alexa Riley has provided us with the jealous, possessive apha and sweet, innocent heroine they are known and loved for. It's a fairy tale, low angst read and I highly recommend it! ARC provided by Netgalley.

One of the better ones in the series. Henry and Kory had just the right amount of OTT for me. Got my fix of the insta love as a cleanse between different styles.

Awww, Henry...

I’ve been dying for the Osbourne legacy, Henry, just as secretive and reclusive as his father. Who knew he’d meet the love of his life when he was eighteen, and let her get away?!
Alexa Riley gave yet another deliciously sexy and sweet insta-love/Second-chance story the way they do best! Double V card and all!

Every book I have read by Alexa Riley has always been amazing and this is no exception. Kory and Henry were perfect for each other and I was glad that they got their HEA. Also, the epilogue was great I always love to see what happens to the couple in the long run.

Wonderful story with an awesome H. The only thing I didn't like was that the long separation was for a really stupid reason that turned out to be nothing.

This novella is like a modern day fairy tale and should be read as such. Anybody who is looking for angst and a riveting plot will be disappointed. The only dark elements in the novella occur at the beginning where the heroine is beaten and almost raped by her married boss. The rest of the story is a second chance romance between MC's who were each other's first loves in High School. Both MC's are virgins and the H acts a bit like a besotted stalker when they reconnect after 10 years apart. Henry, the H, is so filled with love and lust for the for heroine Kory and they're also polar opposites on the socio-economic ladder. If you're a romantic who enjoys unrealistic romance with a lot of sugary goodness then you'll love this. Henry is just like his dad Miles, the hero from Everything for Her. He's too good to be true. I wish the story had been developed into a full novel, so that the slutty bitch from High School who had accosted Henry in the bathroom, while he was urinating, would have gotten her comeuppance. That's the only reason I can't give it 5 stars.

3 Stars!

Henry & Kory met in High School and had an instant connection. They were from two opposite ends of the social spectrum but despite that they cared deeply for each-other.

But alas, some things are too good to be true... an encounter after their prom left hearts broken and resulted in Kory fleeing from Henry. 10 years later and Henry still can't forget the girl who got away.

"I love you, Kory. I've loved you from the first moment I saw you, and I never stopped."

Overall the book was a sweet feel good story. It had the traditional AR formula with a delicious alpha male. It was nice to see some cameo's from the characters from the other books in this series. My one issue was that the story was very quick and I did find the reunion to be rather abrupt, which I know is normal for this story length but I still felt things were a bit rushed.

Henry is smitten by Kory since he saw her the first time. He asks her for Prom. She accepts. But a stupid misunderstanding breaks them. Kory runs away from Henry. Both never stopped loving each other. They meet again after 10 years. And . This time Henry is not letting her go. He chases her.

Don't expect much. Good for little time passing. Short Read.

A male virgin hero! Count me in! To be honest, it was the primary reason I decided to pick up DON’T GO; how many of those are there around? And I cannot count the ways it could have gone wrong. But Alexa Riley knew what she was doing form the first word to the last. And Henry is hot, super rich and a really nice guy; now, that’s a switch! DON’T GO is under 100 pages, and not one word is wasted, but no detail is missing either.

This is a story where everything was just right. The writing is fabulous, the pace perfect, and I really believed that Kory and Henry were made for each other, just as they did. And this is the queen of sarcasm writing this review. Alexa Riley wrote a wealthy CEO, a girl who succeeded with the help of scholarships, young people whose family dynamics are unusual and a welcome respite from much of the negativity that seem to colour contemporary romance; and in spite of the speed at which everything went, it was all perfect. Kory and Henry are charming, normal, sweet, and their chemistry is off the charts; DON’T GO is also a very sexy read, and the sex scenes are a delight: they are fun, loving, and playful. There were conflicts, a most timely issue, a misunderstanding, and all these were dealt with perfectly. DON’T GO is a fabulous novella that you will not want to miss!

You wouldn’t think that Alexa Riley could write a second chance romance, because what kind of AR hero would let go of his woman!? Luckily, AR pulled off this second chance romance as well as they do any other trope. I loved that we get Mallory and Oz’s son’s book (who were the main couple in Everything for Her) – and it’s just as smutty, angsty, and fun as I expected it to be. If you’re a fan of the author, you won’t want to miss this newest novella!

It’s been years and I haven’t gotten over her. The day she disappeared was the day I lost my soul. She took it with her, and I’ve never so much as glanced at another woman since. Why would I? I might have been young, and it might have not meant anything to her, but I’ve never felt anything like it since. I knew when I was eighteen that I’d met the love of my life, but she slipped through my fingers.

Henry and Kory felt a connection the instant they met in high school, and fell in love hard and fast. But a misunderstanding unfortunately caused them to break apart, and they haven’t seen each other for ten years. Henry has been aching for the love of his life and never once looked at another woman since. When he finds out that Kory is returning to New York, he knows he’ll do whatever it takes to get back into her life and heart.

Ahhh, sweet, young love. Don’t Go was everything I expected in an AR novella. It’s got the sweet, the smutty, and the virgin hero and heroine. What’s not to enjoy? For those in the mood for something quick, hot, and sweet, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up!

‘Don’t Go’ is in fact, part of the ‘For You’ series, though it’s now Miles/Mallory’s son’s story, which can be a little jarring since it wasn’t too long ago that I read his parents’ HEA, though in Riley’s fictional world of the Osbournes, over 2 decades have gone by. The biggest issue I have with this series is the lack of chronological order in which the books come about and the time-gap that these stories span—which is at least a generation, but that might just be splitting hairs here.

Alexa Riley’s commitment to short and safe might cause some raised brows when it comes to instalove (or lust) and the all-in stance of the male protagonist. And, honestly, I do sometimes count myself among these brow-raisers. But in rare cases, Riley’s short and safe novellas can and do make an impact.

In ‘Don’t Go,’ Riley writes about 2 people so devoted to each other as well as the memories of that single Cinderella-esque night that there wouldn’t be space to ask the messy and difficult questions that typically appear as part of a second-chance romance. In fact, questions about the contentious separation period and the believability of the pairing’s second-chance romance don’t really factor into the equation here, simply because there have been no one else for Henry and Kory.

From there onwards, it’s pure Alexa Riley that takes over: the instalove (this is sufficiently warned by the authors to be fair), the possessive hero and the iron-clad HEA that probably spans a quarter of the entire short book. It’s not for everyone, clearly, because of how implausible and admittedly unrealistic the pairing and story might come across, but if devotion that sometimes seems out of the real world is what you’re looking at, then Alexa Riley is the kind of read to go for.

“There’s not a world where you and I aren’t together. It’s that simple.”

Sexy, sweet, and romantic as hell, the ladies of Alexa Riley gives their fans another mouth-watering and drool-worthy love story between a gorgeous and persistent CEO and a beautifully shy chemical engineer. These two lovebirds had their shot the senior year of high school, but something happened to make Kory Summers run away and never return...until 10 years later. When Henry Osbourne finds out that the other half of his heart is back in the city, he will stop at NOTHING to make her HIS. He finally gets his chance to make things right and to explain himself, but after all of these years of longing and heartbreak, will it be enough to bring them back together for good?

If you haven’t read an Alexa Riley Romance, you are seriously missing out. Whether it’s a palate cleanser between novels or an escape from reality for an hour or two, you will be so glad you fell under their spell of alpha males and insta-love goodness!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ don't hit it and quit it stars!

“What do you want?” ... “You.”
His voice is deep and filled with certainty. It’s like he’s been waiting on me to ask the question, and the answer takes me by surprise. My heart flutters. “You shouldn’t be here.” ... “There isn’t any other place I should be,”

This was a good story. A really really good story. Don't Go is book #3 in the (For You) series and I think it's the best one so far.
Mixed with the magical Alexa Riley glow, the story of Kory and Henry was a beautiful journey toward a happily ever after epilogue that warms the heart and bring tears to the eyes.

description

“Three thousand seven hundred and twelve,” he whispers, then stares into my eyes. “That’s how many days I had to tell myself that it wasn’t real. And then today, I kissed you, and I knew it was all a lie.”

If you're looking for a safe read with so much heat, love and a beautiful HEA, then you should definitely try this book out. You won't regret it.

Yes, Henry and Kory's story was so worth the wait! Pandora made a bold move with Henry but if she hadn't put the file on Henry's desk, he would have only had Kory's shoes from prom night!

Loved this moving story. It's true, "assumptions are the mother of all f*uck ups!"

Somehow this novella is both instalove and a second chance romance at the same time. I didn't think that was possible, but this author made it happen.

It had a few cute moments, but didn't have much depth.

**3.5 Stars**

**Disclaimer: Henry's parents are Oz and Mallory, and their story, Everything for Her, is the first book in this duo's For Her series. The For You series is a spinoff, featuring the children of the couples we meet in the previous series.**

Ten years ago, Kory transferred to a prestigious private school for her senior year, and strived to keep to herself, knowing she didn't fit in status wise.

Ten years ago, Henry, though popular, focused on his studies, and not girls like others his age. Until he saw the new student, Kory.

When Henry gained enough confidence to ask Kory to prom, and she accepted, both were nervously excited, though Henry already knew she was going to be the love of his life. Unfortunately, the happy occasion ended on an unhappy note due to a misunderstanding from a prank. This left Kory broken hearted, causing her to graduate within days and move. Henry never got the chance to tell her what really happened, and he's missed her every day since.

Presently, Henry is now running his dad's business, Osbourne Corporation, and Kory still holds his heart, he isn't even aware other women exist, but she's gone and won't return...until she does.

Kory is home. Her master's in chemistry has paid off and she's worked for, and is sought after by, prestigious cosmetics company. However, when her boss gets too aggressive, and dangerous, Kory knows she needs to run...again.

Henry can't believe Kory is within eyesight again. He still knows she's meant to be his, but a decade can change things, at least on her and, and she still believes he broke her trust, and her heart. He refuses to continue living without her, and does whatever he must to get her to listen, to know the truth of that night, and that he's waited for her, in all ways, regardless of whether he saw her or again or not.

Kory can't stop staring at Henry. He's constantly been on her mind since that painful night, and is the reason she's never wanted anyone else. When she finally gives him the chance to tell her what actually happened, she can't believe they lost so many years because of her inability to fully trust him back then.

Now that Henry has Kory in his life again, he doesn't hesitate to make it permanent, in every way possible. She's his, and he's hers, and nothing will separate them ever again.

One-click now and follow along as two people, having lost one another ten years ago, get a second chance with their soul mate. For those concerned with safety, such as myself, both Henry and Kory are virgins, neither wanting to share themselves, or that experience, with anyone else except each other.

For You #3
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pretty straightforward insta-love romance that throws in a little bit of everything. This is the 3rd book in a novella spin off series. As always with their books they grab you quickly and keep you entertained throughout. The endings always come too fast with novellas and I always end up wanting more to the story.

4 SMOOCHES!

There’s no point beating around the bush here, so I’m just going put it out there—one of my favorite guilty pleasure pastimes is curling up with smutty, insta-love novellas. Those wholly unrealistic little gems about the over-the-top, obsessed, all-alpha male who stops at nothing—and I mean nothing—to claim the virgin of his dreams. Are these stories an accurate depiction of real-life romance? No! Of course not, but that’s part of what makes them so deliciously fun and entertaining.

Fantasy-based escapism reading is just that – a fantastical story built on a foundation of improbable circumstances, most likely involving some wild scenario, resulting in a sugary sweet insta-love story that ends in steamy sex. When I’m in the mood to get lost in a story like this, Alexa Riley is who I reach for first. They are the reigning queens of the trope, the mistresses of this madness, the grand dames of dirty, and believe me, they do one heck of a justice to the smutty novella genre.

Don’t Go is part of their For You series, a spin-off of their For Her series of full-length novels. I’ve read—and loved—them all, and I’ve been as anxious as one of their virgin heroines staring down the crazed, panting alpha hero for the first time waiting for the billionaire son of the Everything for Her couple who started this whole series, Henry Osbourne’s story. A super-fast read, this book was a tooth-achingly sweet and fanning-myself sexy way to kill an hour that left me with a smile on my face. Four smooches from me for Don’t Go by Alexa Riley!
