Ejaculation: New Poems and Stories

Rate this book
This is an alternate Cover Edition for ISBN10: 1537323806/ ISBN13: 9781537323800.

From the author of "The Slut Always Rides Shotgun" and "The Mire Man Trilogy".... arrives his new collection of story-driven poetry and more keys to the keyholes of the doors keeping us from the romantic and insane...

Matthes' fourth volume of poetry and stories will leave you gasping, hurting, and in some instances, reaching for another bottle. Exploding forth with more of what makes him HIM, author and poet Dave Matthes details more memories of the past, tales of the present, and fears of the future, offering an honest, derogatory, and at times an exaggerated albeit detailed account of what it means to be alive in the most fundamental and vengeful way.

"Ejaculation" is Matthes' most brutal account in poetic form yet, complete with photographs taken by the author to offer another kind of dimension to his asylum of words, and promises to make the reader wonder endlessly about the very truth of their currently accepted version of the "norm".

I loved this book, it's perfect (as is the case with all this author's poetry). The titles of each poem is really what resonated with me, I love how they had little to nothing to do with each poem. This author never disappoints, whether it's with his bomb ass poetry or with his deep and meaningful books. I can't get enough of it, I highly recommend his book Bar Nights if you're looking for the same tone.

Brilliantly irreverent. I didn't know I could enjoy poetry until Matthes came along.
