Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.

One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

Such an interesting world Walters has built. This was a lovely erotic story about a tall, dark, and handsome vampire and an "ordinary" girl who is surprised with this vampire shows up in her dreams..

This is the second story in the series, but I do not believe you have to read the first in order enjoy this one. I actually liked this one better than the first. I felt there was more development with the story and characters.

I loved all the characters and the plot that was continually being built. It is an erotic book so there is a lot of sex. Some of the sex actually surprised me just because it's not what you normally see (or as many times in a romance). Nothing was off-putting, but there is a scene that may turn some people off (pm me for spoiler).

I got lost in the story, and didn't believe it dragged until the very end (this may also be because I am tired!). If you like vampire romances, this series should definitely be on your tbr. Walters is a master at PNR.

Delight Deveraux is in the wrong place at the wrong time when she works late one night and is now literally living on the edge. Saved on the night by the mysterious man of her dreams, she knows all is not over and takes matters into her own hands to not only save herself but protect those she love and the man who for some reason has became very important to her.

Lucian Dalakis is not looking to rock the boat of the city, he live quietly and does not call attention to himself. The one thing that makes him carry on, his is search for his mate. As is the Dalakis code - they love only once – and he has been searching a long time for her his mate. When a woman in danger turns up in his dream, he is compelled to find her – before the worst happens.

Finding her is easy enough – then the craziness begins as Delight is determined to be her own woman and protect Lucian at all cost. Lucian see it as is duty to protect his own and Delight for all her craftiness will not slip out of his hands for not even a minute.

With a detective nosing around, Delight plotting and planning – Lucian has more on his plate than he has ever had and he knows it’s time he take matters into his own hands.

The second book in the Dalakis Passion series and if I rated books, this would be a solid five. We are introduced to Delight – happy family oriented girl with only two loves, her brother and her independence. She takes pleasure in the small things and is a joy to be around. When she becomes embroiled in a wrong place, wrong time situation – little did she know that the next few days would bring about a life changing experience for her.

Ms. Walters gives us a book that stands up and roar – not that the plot was anything special, but with fully developed characters, angsty tension filled situation, and a pace that refuse to let me go – I was rushing through this book at a phenomenal pace.

Delight is a kick ass chick, she has a mind of her own and she is not afraid to voice her opinion irrespective of the big bad vampire in the room. Lucian is clearly a cut about the rest – he has some style and I was loving him. There was none of the usual vampi mumbo jumbo – these were back to basic vampire’s – including the silk sheets and old world charm.

I really liked how Ms. Walters mixed up the dynamics of the characters – the men were men, alpha strong, determine and defiantly bad ass, even the bad guys. I enjoyed spending time with them.

The highlight of the book for me was Delight’s brother and i am in lust and I can’t wait to see where Ms. Walters take his character, it was a pleasure to have met him.

The one draw back to this book if I could call it that – is the original cover as shown above . It has very, very remedial graphics and I am not liking it at all. A new cover was introduced when DALAKIS EMBRACE was release – this is a compilation of the first two books in the series HARKER’S JOURNEY and LUCIAN‘S DELIGHT.

Book Review For: 'Lucian’s Delight' by N.J. Walters 'Lucian’s Delight' by N.J. Walters is book Two in the "Dalakis Passion" series. This is the story of Delight Deveraux and Lucian Dalakis. I have read the other book but feel this is easily a standalone book. Delight is a women that has two jobs and tries to help her younger brother get through school. So she hasn't had time for a relationship. For several years she has been having a nightmare of being attacked. But here the last few times she has dream that someone saves her. Lucian is a vampire that is cursed with only one true love. Which means he may never find her but here lately he has started dreaming of saving a women and her being his mate. Lucian goes forward to find this women who is his mate and bring her out of his dreams. This was another Hot Story by Ms. Walters! I can't wait to read more by her!"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2H... http://sissymaereads.blogspot.com/ https://romancebookreviewforyou.wordp... https://www.tumblr.com/blog/romancebo...

Total sex fest with little plot and no surprises.

I should have learned with the first one that it was going to be that way. I like sexy times, but this just wasn't sexy to me and just seemed like a long playing porno. Lucian seemed to have no respect and just did her whenever he please and even with his brother watching....

It started off good but then just went downhill. The other series I have read by this author have been so good and this one just falls flat.

Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This was just like the first book where there was very little plot and a whole lot of sex. To be fair though, this one did have more of a plot...it was just a really bad one.

First of all, I absolutely hate how the FMC's name was Delight. I can't tell you why exactly, but it annoyed the hell out of me. An emotion is not a name. Secondly, I didn't really even like her character. She was constantly doing such stupid things. Usually because instead of talking to Lucien first, she got distracted by his overwhelming sexual attraction and loses herself to him. But also because she apparently has no self preservation skills. I also would have liked to know the point of her nightmares where she is always being chased and attacked. Always. If it's something that happens all the time, surely there must have been a reason. But if there was, we never find out. It is during one of these nightmares though that Lucien first finds her. He saves her in the dream and he's determined to find her for real.

When Lucien finally does find her, it's when Delight is being attacked. Just, you know, not in her dreams this time. From there, Lucien never wants to let her out of his sight while Delight just tries to go about her life as usual. But that never happens, obviously. She is just as obsessed with Lucien as he is her, but she also refuses to give up her brother and the lady that took them in when they had nowhere else to go. And that murder she witnessed? The bad guys are looking to tie up loose ends and aren't above using her family to do so. Which leads to her making the absolute worst decision yet. I was so mad at her stupidity I had to put my kindle down for a minute as I shook my head and rolled my eyes. And this momentous lack in judgement puts her into a position where she has a choice to make that she won't be able to take back.

Much like at least one other person here, I'm glad that this was not my first dive into this author's works. I love her Forgotten Brotherhood series, and had I read this one first I doubt I would have wanted to read that one. I do have the next brother's book, but honestly I don't think I'll read it any time soon. I have that little interest in it.

This book takes a little bit of fated mates, some vampire romance, and twists it around a little to come up with a unique love story. Full disclosure: I haven't read book 1 in this series yet, but I don't think it's really necessary to enjoy this one on its own. Oh, and another warning, there are some near-rape scenes in here that might prove problematic if you're not expecting it.

Delight has some surprisingly realistic dreams, so it's not a shock to her when a vampire ends up seducing her in one, asking her why she's in his dreams. Sure, it's a change to her typical frightening nightmares, but she's willing to accept it if she gets a break from them. She's a hard working guardian to her younger brother and is determined to save up enough money to send him to art school. This means that she's working two jobs which puts her out dangerously late at night. It's here that her nightmares begin to become reality.

Lucian is a vampire who has been cursed to only get one love. Said love will be able to share his dreams and bond with him, if he can find her and convince her to become his. Lucky for the both of them, Lucian ends up living out their rescue dream/nightmare in real life, which appears to bode well for their romance. Oh, and the attraction is just as good in real life as it is in their dreams. Maybe even more so.

So, things can't be super easy, or we wouldn't have a real story, right? The big bad is still out there and determined to make Lucian's job of keeping Delight and her family safe even harder. There's action, some really really stupid moves on Delight's part, but ultimately we get a solid HEA. If this is an indicator for what the rest of the series is like, I'm in!

This is the second book In the series and I do not feel you have to read Cris and Johannas story to follow along.

Lucian and Delight have both been dreaming about each other for a while. When the horrible nightmare comes true and Lucian comes to her rescue...things will get interesting. Murder, soul mates, danger, brothers, and happily ever after will keep you reading until the end.

I enjoyed this one like I did the first and can't wait for more.

My first NJ Walters novel, and I'm hooked! Lucian is a sexy, commanding alpha vampire who rescues Delight, his sweet, sassy and stubborn match. The two of them set the pages on fire and find themselves in situations they never bargained for. Definitely worth the read, and Walters holds you on the line for more as you've gotten to know the supporting characters and want to see that they get their happily ever after as well.

Delight Deveraux has never had an easy life but she has done well for herself and her little brother, now a healthy teen. If it were not for the horrifying nightmares that keep recurring, everything would be fine. During one of her nightmares she is rescued only to awaken and wish that part hadn't been a dream, for her rescuer was definitely someone to dream about.

Lucian Dalakis is a vampire who has been searching for his other half for centuries and finds her in a dream, but is she real. Then it happens, Delight's nightmare comes true and her life is endangered because of something she witnessed and Lucian is there just in time to rescue her.

LUCIAN'S DELIGHT is exactly that ... a delight. I picked it up and thought let me read a bit before getting ready for bed and ... you guessed it, there was little sleep for me until the last page. The pace was fast, the characters amazing, the setting realistic and the romance ... steamy. I guess now for those who have not read author N. J. Walters “Dalakis Passions” that I should point out that this is a very erotic book, with instant lust (thought to be honest she thought it was a dream).

I loved Delight's tenacity and determination in making the best out of what life had handed her. Then, of course, life hands her Lucian. I got a kick out of Delight telling both Lucian and one of his brothers off when they got too bossy. Lucian, of course, is amazing and hot. There is also quite a bit of action that can happen when you have a protective vampire willing to do whatever it takes to end the danger for his woman. Even though there might have been a few moments of improbability, I read for enjoyment, wonder, escape and fun and I found all these things and more in LUCIAN'S DELIGHT.

I love a good paranormal romance, especially one with lots of amazing sex and vampires. This was right up my alley. I totally enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to reading more of about the Dalakis brothers and family.

Lucian Dalakis is the middle brother of 3. He is all male and all dominating. Like all men in his family he's destined to have only one love in his life. Lucian was by far fantastic. He was harsh when he needed to be, but rarely towards Delight. He was hot from head to toe and just had this sort of "swag" to him. Everything he said and did had me wanting to read more from him. Definitely a perfect vampire.

Delight is a sweet, personable woman that was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks to such an unfortunate situation she found the love of her love. I enjoyed her character. She was very bold and knew how to handle herself. I love that she never freaked out about Lucian being a vampire. She had an open mind and I loved that about her.

The romance was pretty fantastic for me. A vamp and a human who are soulmates...yes please! The feelings they had for each other were intense and the sex was H O T. Things did move pretty fast between them, but considering the events that took place it all played out pretty great.

I enjoyed Stefan, Nadine and Chase. I can't wait to read more. Definitely a new fan of N.J. Walters work!

I was excited when I saw this book on Netgalley as I had just finished reading the two books in the author's "Drakon" series which I LOVED.

After grabbing the first book in this series and then reading this one I quickly realized several things. These are novellas, not full length novels. They are republished books, originally published in 2005. And they fall straight into the "full out erotica, short story, all porn no plot" category. Not what I was looking for.

Had I read these first I probably would not have picked up anything else by this author which would have been a shame. The other series I read by this author was polished, all full length novels, nice and steamy but with strong plots, exciting and had more in depth character development. Everything this series does not have.

I strongly suggest trying the "Drakon" series which is about dragon shifters and I have also heard great things about some of her other series which I think I'll check out. But as far as this series goes, no it's not for me.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book captures you the moment you begin reading.. While it is the second book in the series i didn't have to read the first book to understand this book. It is very easy to understand what is going on from the very beginning and can be read as a standalone book. While once you begin reading and get to the end you will want to continue reading to see what happens!
I found myself hoping that Delight and Lucian get their happy ending even though i know its a Vampire/Human story (LOL)... You fall in love with all the characters in this story and you find yourself feeling every emotion they are feeling..
This book had it all erotica, romance, murder, lust, greed, and much more! This is sure not to disappoint anyone who is a fan of Vampires, and romance.. Not your typical Vampire story which i loved because after a while they are all the same but this book gave a great twist on the classic stories we all love to dream about ;)

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my honest opinions.

If you go into this realizing it is definitely an erotica and there is insta-lust then you could really enjoy this book. It was entertaining and I wanted to keep reading to see how it ended. I just think that it could have had a better beginning, it felt like it started in the middle.

I had a major problem with this book from the very first chapter. I don't care what is happening or who you are, you don't instantly trust and have sex with someone who just killed a bunch of guys right in front of you, even if he did it to protect you, in the middle of a grave yard. Like seriously. Then to fall in love the second time you meet and have sex again.

I know this is marketed as erotica but that is just too much for me.

I liked these reads so far. They are fast and can finish in one or two sittings. Lucian has found his true mate and she is strong. I would like the author to elaborate on her abilities and the guys as well. I feel for Stephan and want him to be happy. I would like the author to put more tid-bits regarding their lives and abilities. Stephan is stronger than the others. Devine has dreams and can sense things. Want just more information. It just trickles and I don't like it. This still was a good read. Not bad.

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest opinion. Thank you Net Galley!

Lucian’s Delight is the type of sexy, erotic read that we’ve come to expect from N.J. Walters.

As with book one, the storyline is exciting and provides a wonderful platform for the characters to grow and develop. If you haven’t read book one, don’t dismay. Each of these stories is capable of being read as a standalone, but who wouldn’t want to follow the series from the beginning.

I’m looking forward to more of this intriguing series!

Lucian obviously doesn't like knowing where his woman is, "she felt his warm breath on the back of her neck when he bent down to whisper in her ear. “I did not like waking and finding you gone.” Sometimes a man just needs to show his woman who's boss, "before she could even think of a response, he cupped the back of her head, leaned down, and kissed her. It wasn’t a soft, gentle kiss, but a stamp of possession." Lucian is not as bashful as Delight in some things, "heat crept up her cheeks and she buried her face against his chest. “Oh, God. They’ll take one look at that satisfied smirk on your face and know what we were doing.” Lucian shrugged, totally unconcerned." I liked this book, I loved how protective Lucian was.
