Don't tar and feather me in the comments, but sometimes a girl is in need of some light and fluffy erotica. Whenever I get that need, I turn to a book from Ellora's Cave. I don't generally categorize a publisher, but there is something about Ellora's Cave books. They're not always deep, but whenever I'm in the mood for some light, fluffy quick erotica, I turn to Ellora's Cave.

ALWAYS YOU was one of those books you read for a quick pick me up. ALWAYS YOU is a novella that I breezed through. Even t

A sweet but very hot story!

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes and Karen Stivali did a great job with this one. The story is not terribly long but it had all of the ingredients needed for a story that kept me captivated from beginning to end.

Jon has been in love with Shari for years but the timing never seemed right for him to tell her. When Shari is finally free Jon is ready to make his move.

This couple had some serious chemistry going on and I loved reading their story. It w

This is a short, spicy friends-to-lovers story. This is my first book to read by Karen Stivali. I will definitely check out more of her work.

A fast paced sexy story of friends to lovers. Jon and Shari. Jon has always been a good friend to Shari, but didn't want to ruin that friendship. Shari has always considered Jon a player, never anything serious relationships. After Shari discovers her fiance cheating on her, she takes Jon to Aruba on a getaway. Soon the romance heats up, oh yes!!

A quick read that will for sure heat up your evening! By the way love the names Shari and Jon!!

Shari finds out her fiancé is cheating on her right before they’re set to walk down the aisle. So what’s a girl to do? In this case, leave him at the altar and head to their honeymoon destination with none other than her best friend, who just happens to be a guy named Jon.

The author did a great job plunging us into the action with Shari and Jon as they headed to the hotel room on what should have been her wedding night. Ms. Stivali

A sweet friends to lovers story. The story picks up with Shari on her honeymoon, but not with her new husband, whom she left home to be stranded at the altar after she found evidence of his cheating. She's with her best friend, Jon. Jon who has been there for her through many relationships over the past many years. Jon who has been in love with her since he met her, but couldn't tell her because she was always in a relationship or getting out of one, and he didn't want to be "rebound guy". Jon w ...more

After a very tiring day, I dug into Always You and finished it a couple of hours later with a big sigh of relief and relaxation. I like that it was shorter, perfect for finishing in an evening. I liked that there was some tension and some conflict, but it wasn’t overwrought and draining. For a shorter book, it still did a good job of establishing the characters’ prior relationship and Jon’s love for Shari, instead of having them fall in love over a few hours (gak). And, yes, the sex scenes were ...more

This story kicked off with a bang--literally! Shari, a woman about to be married to the world's biggest jackass, decides instead to stand him up at the altar and run off on their would-be honeymoon with her best friend, Jon. Okay, how awesome is that premise? I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book after reading the blurb alone. Always You is a classic friends-to-lovers story, but what sets this one apart is the unusual order in which everything happens. I think every relationship should st ...more

This is Jon and Shari's story.

Jon and Shari have been best friends for a long time. He wants to be more than friends but is afraid of messing up what they have.

Shari calls off her wedding after finding out that her fiancee had been cheating on her. She talks Jon into going to Aruba which was suppose to have been her honeymoon destination. Will Jon cross the line between friends and more? Will Shari realize the sparks between them?

This is a fun story in which I had a fair idea of where it was heading. I love that Shari took off on her honeymoon and left her cheating fiancée behind to attempt an explanation of why the wedding was off to friends and family. (You go, girl!) I had a good giggle over the fact she was clueless that her supposed best friend felt more for her than just friendship. But when Jon finally told her how he felt (communication, people) and Shari realized the love of her life was in front of her all alon ...more

Short, sweet, packing heat. A quick enjoyable read.
Perfect for when you have time to read but you know there will be some interruptions, cause there are not that many main characters and it will be easy for you to get right back into it.

Shari is definitely having a bad day when she finds evidence of her fiance’s continued cheating and that they have no plans on stopping. Instead of just calling off the wedding, Shari decides to get even with him by leaving him at the altar and taking her best friend on her honeymoon. Relaxation and time away to clear her head is exactly what she needs, but things take a different turn when her best friend turns up the heat and show's her his true feelings.

Jon is tired of being left in 'friend'

This was one of those short and steamy type of books. We start off with Jon and Shari at the hotel, heading towards their room. We shortly discover that Shari's fiancé has been cheating on her with his ex and that she went on her honeymoon with her best friend, Jon.
Jon has been attracted to Shari for a while now, and has never had the chance to tell her. Shari has relied on Jon for everything, and during this trip has felt her ever-growing attraction to him. They both don't really want to say an

As a matter of fact, I've just stocked up on her other books & will indulge myself in a "Karen Stivali" day! She is an author that many should look out for. Karen knows just the right ingredients to write a good romance that leaves the reader craving more.

Always You is an amazing tale full of passion, love and a friendship that is destined for more. The emotional turmoil that Jon feels over his unrequited love for Shari shines through each written word. Just as brilliantly depicted, Shari’s dilemma as her feelings for her best friend develop gives the reader a feel for this issue as if it were a real situation. Ms. Stivali has written a tale overwhelmingly full of emotions so powerful and potent you find yourself rooting for these two characters. ...more

What I dislike about some novellas/short stories is when 90% of the story is a 'will they or wont they' (even though you know they will) but when it finally gets to the 'they will' you get like one chapter or one encounter and it's all over.

So not the case with this offering by Ms Stivali.

You get the angst at the start, but then our main characters soon get into 'yes they will' mode. In fact, it was so quick I had to check how far into the story I had read. And when it's quick like in Always You

3.5, but I rounded up.

I have a hard time with novellas, so this is just me. It was well executed and I was invested in the characters (because they already had history), and I like friends-to-lovers stories. However, I would have liked to see this as more of a category-length because novellas kind of irritate me.
