She's fierce, but he's never met a creature he couldn't tame.

Audrey's never felt bad about using her magical gifts to survive, but apparently the witch council has a problem with it. Now she's trapped in their fortress and forced to study their rules or else lose her powers entirely. Escaping would be much simpler if the reclusive falconer assigned to be her mentor wasn't

True Rating 3.5 stars!

To Tame a Wild Heart is a series starter for the Zyne Legacy romances. This story is set in a world that has magic, witches, wraiths, and the non-magical folk. Ignorant to life beyond the ordinary Audrey Taylor was a street hustler who did what was necessary to live. She knows only one thing – trust no one. Being on the streets has put Audrey in a few bad situations and at the start of the story she is in a horrible one. Shortly after escaping that dire situation she is cap

This is my first experience with Gwen Mitchell. I had a delightful time diving into her Zyne Legacy. It was different and unique.

To Tame a Wild Heart is book one in the Zyne Legacy series. It’s a fast-paced adventure into a witchy world.

Empathic powers, evil sorcerers, animal characters, and witches are just a few of the things we are treated too. I enjoyed both Corvin and Audrey. We get to learn about their past and their magic. As for their romance it was sweet. I really loved Corvin. He und

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Audrey escapes from the asylum holding her and lands right into another kind of jail. Faced with getting free and losing her powers, or staying in the coven to learn all about her powers and the Zyne, Audrey decides to bide her time, learn what she can, get fit and healthy and THEN excape and go back for the child she needs to save. Corvin's mother is head of this coven. He tends to the birds and is happy, for the most

Tonight’s the night. She’s leaving this shithole dungeon that is Parkview Sanitarium.

Start by shedding the straight jacket she is wearing. Time to put her powers to work. I love her ability to become invisible. I think that would be so cool. Just think of all the things you could do.

Corvin has been trained in the way of the Synod, but he wants no part of it. He is a falconer, a bird whisperer, if you will. He just wants to take care of his birds and be left alone. UNTIL…

To Tame A Wild Heart follows the story of Audrey Taylor who has had quiet a hard life.Whenever she lands in trouble, she uses her powers to fend for herself. The book begins with her trying to break out of the asylum. But just as she's out, she's captured again, only to trade one prison for the other(according to her). The council disapproves of witches who misuse their powers. And since Audrey doesn't use her powers in a way that they approve of, she's temporarily stripped of them.

She's given a cha
To Tame a Wild Heart is the introduction to the Zyne Legacy. The Zynes are witches, living in their own community to preserve their legacy. They are assisted by immortals, such as shifters and the hohlwen, fallen angels. The sorceres prey on the unprotected witches to use their powers for their dark purposes.

Corvin is an empath and the son of the coven's oracle. He likes his solitude and thrives on being by himself, at one with nature. He cares for the birds in the sanctuary with his best frien

I really like book with magic, especially urban fantasy-ish kind, so this was a win.

We follow story mostly from Audrey and Corvin perspective, in 3rd person. I really like split perspective, especially with this story, though it was a bit confusing at time. Audrey has a really hard life, she spent most of her life in foster system, running away from harm. The story start with Audrey trying to break out of asylum. She has some special abilities, that make that a lot easier. During the escape she

Review: Corvin and Audrey are two halves of a whole but don't know it. They both seek freedom in their own ways. Audrey wants freedom from the shackles her life has thrown on her from being a foster child, a juvenile delinquent, a patient in an asylum. and finally an initiate under the power of the Synod (the witches council). Corvin just wants to be left alone with his forest and his birds - heck his best friend is a raven na

Thoughts: Awesome!!! Freaking awesome!! This hit so close to home for me, I totally understood Audrey and her fear of letting anyone in. And I loved how it wasn't just a love story, the world that Ms. Mitchell created seemed so real and exciting! I haven't read this author before but boy am I glad I have now! She now has a new stalker, I mean follower. This story wil

I very much enjoyed the story of Audrey, a woman with magical powers, and Corvin, the man living in a witch compound where Audrey ends up. There's a lot of interesting twists in this tale, some super steamy scenes (ahhh that shower scene!) and a group of really bad guys who want to suck the power from the witches. I started getting so invested after Audrey and Corvin take their relationship to the next level, because he doesn't entirely trust her, and for good reason...When she made a deal with ...more

My favorite things about writing this book:

1. Playing a bit with empathic powers and a hero who is more sensitive than the heroine. I'm an introvert too, so I get along better with animals than people and relate a lot more to Corvin (the hero) in this story than to Audrey. It was fun to write. Introverted heros need love too!

2. Exploring the behind the scenes of the Hohlwen (wraiths) and their dynamic with the Synod (witch council). They are a foreboding presence in my first Zyne book, but I got

Audrey is used to getting herself out of bad situations and looking out for number one. But she's always been different, had powers which others didn't. Then she gets abducted and learns that they're more people like her- with governments and rules that she must learn and follow if she is to keep everything that means anything to her.

I enjoyed the world building and delving into the Zyne world in this book! I thought Audrey was a brilliant character with her strengths and insecurities.

Oh my stars! This book...just wow! Amazing job Gwen!

This story was just so juicy and exciting and insanely hot, it was beyond enjoyable.

Audrey is such an excellent and spunky protagonist that I immediately got sucked into the story.
Corvin is a tasty piece of man flesh, and I honestly can't decide if I enjoyed his or Audrey's POV more?! They were both so well thought out and so individual.

And I've never wanted a sassy bird sidekick of my own more. Storm might just be my favourite thing about th

What I expected was a younger feeling story, but this had a surprisingly adult tone.

Set against Audrey's particular background, her ability to trust (or lack thereof) underpins and informs all of her actions. This element of her nature and how she responds, set against the more reserved and awkward approach taken by Corvin means that their relationship is full of frustrating sparks.

The climactic battle scene pacing added to the frenetic feel of the story - but this is not a criticism - the story

I downloaded To Tame a Wild Heart as a free ebook from Amazon. What an interesting and unique story line, with excellent opening chapters that immediately suck the reader into the action. I read this straight through --yep, another book I was reading until 1:30am. A new author for me, but I'll be checking out other books by this writer.

I found this book and it was marketed as a "free witchy romance novel". My general understanding of romance in books is that it focuses on two people falling in love, but I don't really see that happening in "To Tame A Wild Heart", because Audrey and Corwin meet and start lusting after each other. There are a lot of steamy sex scenes that made me uncomfortable, because they're Fifty Shades level graphic.
I was also missing plot. I don't know if I was blinded by all the steam,
