Wookiee Cookies were excellent! I had a lot of fun making them with the kids. Mr. H is learning to bake. An important lesson for all kids! 🍪😊 P.S. the recipes are easy to read with instructions easy to follow without speaking down to kids with baby talk.

Ok, so the only recipe I've made from this cookbook is the Twin Sun Toast which, by the way, was quite a hit at our house. That said, I have to recommend this book to anyone with Star Wars fans, young or old, in the family. The book is rarely on my shelves at my K-5 library. It stays checked out from the beginning of the school year till the last possible minute before summer and usually has a waiting list. Each recipe has been given a Star Wars based name and is illustrated with cleverly placed Star Wars action figures. If you purchase this book for your favorite Star Wars fan, there are some pretty cute stickers in the back with punny Star Wars quotes. Fun, fun, fun! For fans of this title, be sure to take a look at the sequel, "The Star Wars Cookbook II, Darth Malt and More Galactic Recipes".

This book is very much convinced that only little kids would want a Star Wars cookbook. However, it's awesome and I'm very excited to try some of these recipes out! Love the pictures, of course, the stickers in the back are hilarious ("Use the fork, Luke"), I like that the book is spiral, and the pages are laminated to protect while you're cooking.

Illustrated with hilarious dioramas using Star Wars action figures, this cookbook features delicacies from galaxies far, far away such as Hoth Chocolate, Jabba Jiggle, Greedo's Burritos, and Han-Burgers. The recipes aren't too advanced. The challenge comes in the presentation, for example "TIE Fighter Ties" calls for only two ingredients, hotdogs and refrigerator breadsticks, but there is some assembly required. This is truly playing with your food :)

A great cookbook for those who have tendancies to set things on fire in the kitchen. Recipes are easy enough a caveman can do it, but delishus enough for me to actually eat. Many are simple ones that most can accomplish, accompanied by a cutesy, star-warsian name next to it. Wookie Cookies, Twin-Sun Toast and Hoth Chocolate are just a few of the galactic treats contained inside. I wouldn't spend the money on the actual hard cover, I'd spend a bit less on the ebook though.

I mean it's not like I'll ever cook anything from this because instead I'll open this up and go "yeah this looks delicious" at every page but it DOES all look delicious.

Lots of yummy sounding and fun Star Wars themed recipes in this cookbook. The book was broken down into the following categories: Breakfasts, Beverages, Snacks and Sides, Main Courses and last but not least, Desserts, and included everything from Mos Eisley Morsels and Jawa Jive Milkshakes to Obi-Wan Kebabs, and the recipe on the front cover, Wookiee Cookies! Definitely plan to try out a few of the recipes from this cookbook!!

Azaam gave me this cookbook for my birthday! :D
We actually ogled this book at the EMP's Sci-Fi Museum's gift shop, so I may or may not have gotten overly-happy when he gave me this book.
The recipes in Wookiee Cookies: A Star Wars Cookbook are just run-of-the-mill simple recipes one could get from any general cookbook. That part made me a little sad, but in a way I feel it adds something to the nostalgia; like maybe they are Grandma's home-recipes from Alderaan.
The accompanying pictures of figures fighting on baked terrain are hilarious, and the clever titles of each recipe make the book complete.
ALSO THERE ARE STICKERS!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
If you love references to Star Wars, action figures, AND STICKERS, this book is for you! :D
If you're looking for spectacular never-been-done-before recipes, this is not the cookbook you were looking for. **waves hand in front of your face**

A long time ago...
In a Kitchen far, far away...
My cousin allowed me to put dishes away. But I blundered that task by picking the wrong cabinet. And as the door closed, sunlight slashed across holo-foil. Giddiness bubbled up in me as the words 'Star Wars' registered in my brain. Quickly, I asked for permission to take the tome from its place amongst her other cookbooks
She agreed and I hurried to finish my dish task, collect my mother to share in this moment, and yank the book down from whence it came.
The next half hour was spent in stitches and lack of enough oxygen. Granted most of these are basic recipes given clever or silly names; some even sharing photo space with figures from Star Wars.
I would totally pull this out if ever a Star Wars party arose, just for giggles and good fun.
Highly recommend creating these treats with children.

This German version of the Star Wars cookbook contains the translations of all recipes from both of the original versions.
Even for someone who has little experience in cooking and baking, the recipes are fully comprehensible and easy to follow. However, a number of the recipes in this book are far from innovative: Although the Wookiee Cookies were as good as I had hoped they would be, they were hardly any different from the cookies I usually bake. Some of the recipes therefore seem quite unimaginative, whereas others in fact gave me new ideas especially for drinks and desserts.
For German die-hard Star Wars fans (especially those with little cooking experience) this book is definitely a must-have, but certainly not very useful for people looking for completely new ideas and challenges.

OK, it's basically a cookbook for adolescent boys. However, the desert recipes were pretty good, and the food is actually kid-friendly and fairly healthy. Priceless for the illustrations that accompany the recipes and the intro explaining why adults are useful - even Luke needed guidance.
If you're a Star Wars fan, or trying to get your kids more interested in food or cooking, this is totally for you.

I can't imagine summer without doing some cooking with the kids! Here is one of our library selections we tried this summer.
My kids loved the photos and names of the food even though we aren't huge into Star Wars yet. The food we tried was good, but many recipes were complex for a young child. Maybe more age appropriate for a 10+ year old cook.

This book is awesomeness. The action figures cracked me up and the recipe names are great. However the recipes themselves weren't all that amazing. Most of the recipes although tasty for example the grilled cheese didn't exactly relate to star wars. Pretty much the author took some basic dishes such hamburgers or pancakes and came up with a clever name.

My older son discovered this book at his school library (we are now owners of our own copy). Inside the front cover was a note from the librarian to not return this book late as it's in high demand. I can see why. The recipes..yummy & easy. The photos..a riot. The concept..genius. We LOVE this book!

The names of the recipes are very cute, accompanied by a Star Wars action figure photograph, usually in some funny stance. Yet many of the end products are not all related to Star Wars. The cookies are just cookies. Some recipes though do make Star Wars characters like R2D2. Overall, many of the recipes would be fun to make.

I didn't realize this was for kids before picking it up. I was interested in the pictures of the dishes for humor value but i was disappointed both in the lack of a picture for each recipe (while there is a lot of unused space in the pages) and the fact that the only thing making mostly of them a star wars recipe was the addition of figurines on the food. The ones

My son had hours of fun looking through this cookbook, and he also enjoyed the pictures. We both enjoyed the clever recipe names (e.g. Vader Potaters). The recipes, however were super boring, uninspired, and we never really got around to cooking anything. Still, it was fun to browse through with my family.

Se me hizo muy simplón, en realidad son sólo recetas tradicionales con nombres de Star Wars. No me encanta que exploten tanto un nombre para acabar con algo así, aun cuando algunos nombres de platillos sean "chistosones"
¡Buuuu!

3+ Somewhere between 3 and 4.
This is a cookbook on a theme, not a cookbook of anything unusual or mind-blowing. If you want creative recipes or super innovative decorating ideas, check out something like The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook: Sweet Treats for the Geek in All of Us. The Hello, Cupcake series is good too, but a little less geeky-themed.
While now groundbreaking, this does offer is a collection of recipes and decorating ideas that super-busy parents can do, or even that kids can do themselves. A lot of the ideas are pretty straight-forward recipes but with Star Wars puns as the name (Hoth Chocolate, for example, or Boba Fett-uccine). Of course, there are Princess Leia cinnamon buns. There are some unique recipes too, or at least ways to adapt standard recipes appropriately. The Twin Sun Toast, for example. I personally love the name Greedo's Burritos and think the TIE Fighter Ties are wonderful. I do think they missed out by not having Dark Side Cookies as a recipe. There are other desserts, but a double chocolate chip cookie recipe would have been perfect.*
For those who aren't particularly creative, or for younger ones who don't have the experience, this is a fun collection. Perfect for a May the Fourth celebration or a Star Wars birthday bash.
*EDIT: I looked up the dates. The book was published 1998, while "Come to the Dark Side: We have cookies" became a meme in the early 2000s. So the cookbook predates the reference. Fair enough :) I guess that also explains why there are no recipes referencing the prequel trilogy either.

Take some absolutely basic 'recipes' like hot chocolate, soda or grilled cheese and give them a fancy Star Wars related name. Et voilà you've got yourself the lowest effort of a cookbook ever. George Lucas is an absolute dickhead. Disney’s ‘Star Wars’ sucks ass. We’ll never get a proper Thrawn movie. At least we’ve got an incredible new Star Trek series. Just kidding, Discovery is an absolute dumpster fire. Repeat after me: I am a boomer.

The recipes in here are fairly simple with a few simple tips, certainly good for beginners, some of them having interesting designs.
The art in here is quite good. using action figures to great effect.
Of course the real test is in the results, and as I have not tried any of the recipe's I cannot tell you how things taste.

The pictures were cute but the recipes were mostly just regular food with cute pun names, like Boba Fett-uccine and Han-burgers. I was hoping for more recipes that were authentic Star Wars food or looked like in-universe items. The food was kid-friendly and I liked the spiral binding, and there was some fun explanatory text, but I was hoping for more.

Disappointing. Fairly basic recipes given Star Wars themed names, photos of most but not all recipes. Mostly the photos are a variety of Star Wars action figures, sometimes with food, sometimes not. Not as cool as I had hoped.

None of these recipes will get probably end up on Gordon Ramsay's list of wonderful things, but they aren't bad either. This is a fun addition to any Star Wars-lover's kitchen library.
It's always nice to take Wookiee Cookies to the office on Life Day.

Instead of paying money for this book, just pull out your mom's collection of recipes on index cards and give them punny names.

This is, hands down, the best Star Wars cookbook in the galaxy. Buy it for the Wookie Cookies alone! Yum!
