Finding Kate is the second book in the Hill Country Secrets series, the first book in this series is Finding Claire and you can find my review HERE. This is a series that must be read in order! Finding Kate picks up right where the first one leaves off. Kate and Alex have put the bad behind them, Kate is ready to make the move from Colorado to Texas and they are headed back to pack up Kate’s apartment. Kate has had a lot of

This book immediately follows Finding Claire. Alex and Kate are still trying to figure out their feelings for each other after being thrust into a few intense days together. Kate decides to move from Denver to Schatzenburg, Texas, to start fresh after finding out the truth about her past and her family. Her story is out and known in the small town, and just when Kate thinks she is free from family secrets, another person from her past comes to haunt her. Amidst all this, she is trying to open up ...more

The Blue Reboso - Another heartwarming, interesting story using an ancestor from the author's own family as the main character. There are two actually, the Reboso plays a important part in the story. Well written and interesting in the telling of time history and the perils and struggles faced by people then. The characters are developed enough to be interesting and you root for them. The storyline is well developed and I feel I'm there with the family as the story unfolds. A job well done with ...more

The twists in this book kept me guessing. I felt for Alex, because of his past, it made it more heart felt when it came to keeping Kate safe. You always have this sense that whoever was after Kate they were too close. The sense of invasion the author creates amps up your pulse. I love endings you don't see coming. I loved the closeness of the relationships in this book, but I do have to say it also showed me when the people who are suppose to love us, and take care us don't it makes for real bro ...more

A great read! I enjoyed the turn of words, the author writes in a way that everything flows. The story is exciting and has twists and turns (without giving away the plot - I would say that this is a deeper look at the events that have unfolded so far and is a stand alone book or can be read after the first book in the series). There is both the subtle understanding of relationships with the drama between people, as well as the larger dramatic backdroop of the adventure and the build up of the pl ...more

An easy read that gets you hooked from pqge 1

The reason I gave this a four star rating is due to the predictability of the book. Don't get me is a good conclusion to Finding Claire. Sometimes you need a book that is not too heavy and ends with..."Happily ever after"

I like this mystery but I have a continuing problem it jumping back & forth between the story of after Kate is kidnapped & letters written between B & M. It is definitely a big mystery that gets concluded at the end. Now on to #3 to really complete the series. I received a free copy from the author. This is my voluntary opinion. ...more

I can't put this series down. I read finding Claire then Finding Kate and now The Wrong Path. I am waiting to buy Finding Treasure until I finish The Wrong Path. I love this series. It's been a while since I binge read a whole series. I love that there is no swearing and that the books stick to the story line very well. Can't wait to read the next book.

Tangled Relativity

Maybe relations would be a better word, but when it comes to Kate's family, it's too explosive to be anything but relativity.
As usual, I cried over this book. Humphrey is a brilliant writer. Makes me want to go buy all of her books, which I can't afford to do.

Great continuation of mates story! Love how patient Alex is with her. Can't wait for the conclusion of their story! Hoping for their HEA!
