After spending hours reading through multiple Pokemon encyclopedias and learning about hundreds of Pokemon characters with my son, these books were a good culmination of all that (useless 😆) information. I’ve never seen the show so reading about these characters made no sense to me until I finally read these stories to my six year old and figured out that the plot is actually much more interesting when you understand the details of each Pokemon. This is a cute starter series for young elementary aged kids who have a strong background knowledge about the characters. 4/5 stars for young readers because there are a lot of characters to follow and keep track of, which may be tricky for some kids.
