I’m on the fence about this series, there’s some good parts but I just never warmed up to Stormy as a character at all. I never felt her commitment to what she was doing or the people she was with. I don’t know, there was just something off
I enjoyed the first book -- the discovery of the body was unique and the characters were fairly interesting. However, I find myself enjoying the books less as the series progresses -- the number of inconsistencies regarding character behavior, most especially the main character, are growing with each book; and the personal situation with the main character and her love interest is more flimsy and unbelievable with each chapter.
I don't know if I will invest more time in future books.
The mysteries were good and Stormy's relationship with her dad and best friend are spot on, but her romantic interest? Something is wrong with a woman who finds every guy around her attractive from the married police captain to the young officer, while having a boyfriend. And he started sweet and yet they don't seem to spend any time together and don't quite know each other., after 6 months of dating.
The mystery at the resort was the most entertaining as they knew someone there had to have been the killer, or was it an accident? Stuck together for the long haul and unsure who to trust was scary. Especially for poor Jessica. It also introduced Della who was part of the Koenig patriarch killing story.
I was a little bit skeptical for the first chapter or so, then I got hooked.
I read the entire 5 book set in less than two days. The stories are complicated enough to be interesting, and not so complicated that you’re overwhelmed with red herrings. The humor is probably more entertaining if you’ve ever lived with a cat. I have and I laughed out loud at times. I’ve already recommended the series to my sister in law and my roommate. If I’m willing to do so with people who will definitely let me know if they disagree I’m happy to recommend the series to readers at large. Now I just need to decide which Angela Pepper series to read next.
This is one of the best cozy mysteries that I have ever read. It's hilarious, adorable, thrilling and very interesting. I love Stormy Day's observation skills and her way with people to get information or confession. Highly recommended for reading as all the books are pretty exciting.
Somehow when reading you just want to meet Angela's characters and become friends with them! Stormy is no different. Funny, quirky and full of spunk; Following her on all her adventures in solving cases and how she gets herself in and out of trouble is a great read. Off to read about others in this little town.
When you meet Stormy you will luv her. She’s a PI(has been since a child due to her father) she’s wary of love due to her breakup with Christofer, but then meets Logan. She solves mysteries (murder, etc.)She luvs carbs and junk food. You have to keep reading to see if she ends up with Logan?Read the series and enjoy living someone else’s life and loves.
It's not easy to combine the three elements -- humor, a cat.... and murders, but this author does it masterfully! It was fun figuring out whodunit right along with Stormy. Looking forward to more great hours of reading Angela Pepper's series 😀
Once again I dug into an Angela Pepper series and hit pay dirt. Stormy is a fun character with some very strange friends. I would have loved to grow up as her. Way to go Angela Pepper. You killed it, in a good way 😊
This is a great series. The characters are well thought out and they make sense. Love the stories that keep you on the edge of your seat right up Til the end. Can’t wait to see the next one in this book series
Really good mysteries and lots of laughs. These books have totally made me laugh out loud multiple times (embarrassingly enough, a few times in public). Highly recommend for light hearted mystery reading.
This set of books are utterly charming and binge worthy. Stormy and company are thrown from one crime to another without ever dimming their enthusiasm. Stormy is funny while cracking of the murders in her small home town.
This was a great book series! Loved the way each book led to the next with little lost in the storyline! Good read- didn't want to put it down till it was finished.
Stormy Day is a funny, great investigator. Her interactions and relationships seem real. The father - daughter relationship is pretty special. Loved it!
Well written for easy reading...with delightful characters and interesting plots. I don’t always find a “boxed set” so enjoyable as I tire of reading on and on and on with the same cast; however this series kept me intrigued throughout all five books.
Fun books to read but not the most well written...like enjoying an bar of candy from CVS when a box of Godiva is waiting at home. I'd read more, they were fun and I liked how characters moved fro. Book to book...including the murderers or murder suspects. Indulge! Gotta love a Snickers bar!!
