Dakota, a former SEAL and recent hire at Legendary Security, is thankful for the opportunity to continue using the skills he learned in the Navy. But, as the compound is quickly becoming overrun with couples as his co-workers continue to find their one, he likes running into town to handle the errands whenever possible. As he's currently between assignments, that's what he's doing now as he notices Bailey, well, his truck did first as she ran in front of it, unfortunately causing her to get injured before he could stop the vehicle.

The past year and a half has been hard on Bailey with her husband's illness six months into their marriage, and then his death within months. As she's slowly regaining her will to move forward, she witnesses a murder, one that involves the mayor. As she's running from those responsible, she isn't paying attention to what's in front of her and is surprised to feel the impact from being hit by a truck.

As Dakota, feeling guilty though she'd come out of nowhere, introduces himself and sets about seeing that she's okay, the two get to know each other. Bailey also caves and admits what she saw. Dakota, already feeling protective of her, takes her back to the compound before the day is over and he and the Legendary crew begin looking into her situation.

Dakota and Bailey have started to bond, but it isn't until Ice and some of the others point it out that Dakota realizes he's already falling for Bailey. However, she's still in danger, not to mention healing physically from her injuries, as well as emotionally from her loss.

What led to the crime Bailey mentioned? Will the group uncover the truth? Can they keep Bailey safe? Is Bailey willing to take a chance on love again, knowing how painful it is to lose it? Will Dakota fight for what he and Bailey are meant to be to one another? After everything is settled, what will it mean for their relationship? Will Bailey go back to her life? Or has she found a new one, personally and professionally? Is there a HEA for Dakota and Bailey? Who will find love in the next story?

One-click now and follow along as a woman who's lost everything, finds the man who wants to give it back to her.

I loveeeee this book, it's my first book from Dale Mayer and I planning to read all of her books.
I always a sucker for a SEAL, and this one is not an exception.
A damsel in distress and a hero, yes..yesss..yesss...absolutely yess.
This book is started with suspense, and I can't put it down, I devour it in one sitting.
It keeps me on edge with all of the actions, I feel pure anxiety with this book, expecting something ugly will happen, or how the bad guys will attack. It's full of actions, hot SEALs and plenty of love and loyalty.

As for characters. I loveeeee Dakota, he's one hot SEAL, and I love his sense of protection. Everything he does, got me swoon.
And for Bailey, even though she looks so fragile, she's a survivor, life's been harsh for her but she can come back up stronger than ever.
This is the 9th book of the series, even though it's a stand alone, I think it's better to read it from the first book, so you can get the hang of the other characters beside the main characters and the history of this security companies.
But overall, this one is a MUST-READ one if you love suspense romance.

Can you say predictable?

Why can't we get female leads like Ice? Why must every female be some wilting wallflower who becomes totally dependant on whichever man is currently saving her life? I swear scenarios like that just make me itch.

Let's see, Bailey was an okay character, not terribly strong but defended herself as best she could when it counted. I felt bad for her loss, losing a loved one is not easy, it was just kind of aggravating that everyone sort of kept pushing or insinuating that her husband had passed a long time ago so she should just move into the compound and date Dakota. Her husband passed less than two years ago, not ten years ago. That's still a fresh timeline but to each his own. I'm glad she didn't compare Dakota to her late husband or try to minimize her feelings towards him just because he showed up and saved her life. If she felt ready to move then good for her but it bugs me how pushy everyone in Levi's compound can be.

Dakota was okay, same as every other man in this series..

I'd like to think this series only gets better but honestly its at a stale point. As mentioned in my many other reviews, I can totally predict what will happen in each book and with each new couple...that's not good.

The storyline is usually the most interesting part, I enjoy the mysterious quality of each situation and finding out why the heels do what they do. On a side note, what is up with everyone and their mother breaking into the compound? I thought this ragtag group of ex military soilders were the best and had the best security in the world? I'm starting to lose faith in this team, for all the boasting they do, they sure get infiltrated a whole lot. Maybe its time to move from a security venture to a matchmaking one, they seem to be better at hooking up than anything else...

After accidently hitting a woman who ran out in front of his car in the rain but she runs off, Dakota needs to check she's ok. Scared of something and in shock Dakota is just the person she needs to look out for her and keep her safe. Wow! as always Dale writes an amazing story with suspense, action and some intrigue mixed in with the whole getting to know you and falling in love. Plenty here to keep you interested and gripped so you don't want to put the book down. Having read both the Heroes and the Honour series about these Seals and Ex Seals I have loved each and every one of them, the characters both male and female are easy to like. Both are protective of each other, in fact I think the women are more feisty than the men when someone threatens them which I find adorable and a little funny. I loved the building friendship with Alfred in this one as well. Each story is a little different with the background of the female characters so it doesn't get to repetitive, I just want more with each book that comes out. The banter and support the whole group show each other and how they all just fit is great as well, I love the growing family more with each book. I feel so blessed to have found an author that always gives me a fantastic read and keeps me coming back for more.

What a story!

I enjoyed this book so much. It’s always satisfying when the good guys win and the bad guys get their just rewards!

Bailey is such a sweet soul and what she has gone through in her young life would test anyone’s strength of character. I can only imagine her heartache and emptiness. Dakota comes from a background of structure and discipline. He knows everything that’s going on around him at all times. Until Bailey, that is.

When Bailey comes crashing into his life, Dakota can’t help but feel the need to help her in any way he can. Good thing too because bad guys want her dead through no fault of her own. Wrong place, wrong time. Professional killers are hired to find her and when they do, Dakota and his “family” of ex-military brothers are there to protect her. Dakota and his brotherhood are experienced and determined but that doesn’t mean Bailey is a helpless, weak female. She is a brave and selfless woman and will take anyone on to protect those she cares for.

I loved this story. Dale Mayer has a way f combining the most opposite people with extraordinary circumstances and eventually makes it all come together and make sense while giving you excitement, danger and of course, the HEA!

Dakota is definitely a gentleman and a hero that was in the right place at the right time...Bailey is a strong survivor who seems to have had a string of bad luck. Their story was action packed and full of suspense with a few unexpected twists. I was enthralled. I really enjoy reading and keeping up with these heroes!

Another action-filled storyline which grabs you from the very first chapter and won’t let you go. I loved the interaction between Dakota and Bailey, and I was on the edge of my seat during the exciting action scenes. This is a great addition to the series.

An auspicious collision…

This is the ninth book in the Heroes for Hire series that can be read as a stand-alone.

Running errands for Legendary Security on a rainy day, Dakota Langour bumps into a woman with his car who just bolted into traffic from out of nowhere, thankfully he drove slowly due to the weather but the woman suffered some hurt from the accident. When she won’t accept his assistance he follows her to gain her trust, a man like Dakota doesn’t leave a woman in obvious distress and suffering shock. He has a good way with people and soon eases the woman’s fear of him enough to learn her story. What she’s about to face isn’t something she should do alone and he’ll help with the assistance of his teammates.

Life has been hard for Bailey Hoskins who has been mourning the death of her husband for eighteen months. Getting through each day since his loss has been a task and she’s gone through the motions, existing but not living. Leaving work she takes a shortcut down an alley and sees the commission of a murder, to make matters worse she recognized one of the men involved. The instinct for survival, the fear for her life, sends her running with an animated spark she hadn’t felt in over a year. Not looking where she’s going she steps into traffic and gets hit by a car and not trusting of strangers after what she’d witnessed she runs from the driver who only wants to help, but you can’t run from a hero.

A recent addition to the company Dakota is one of the singles at the compound who enjoyed taking on errands to get a break from the “coupleness” that is rampant everywhere on base. Not that he has an aversion to it, he just hadn’t met the right woman. Bailey intrigues him but she’s getting over a loss and may not be ready to move on with her life, that doesn’t mean he can’t be her supportive friend for now. Dakota likes what he sees and learns of Bailey but he won’t push for more which shows how much of a gentleman he is. Luckily when the lady realized that she’s ready she takes the lead. Bailey does have spunk, for all the fragility and vulnerability seen in her at first when she awakens you see the inner strength she had within.

This was a solid addition to the series filled with action, suspense, and intrigue. The compound sees its share of home-based combat again as the witness to a crime needed serious protection. Recognition of an accomplice to an illegal act doesn’t mean you make a police report and then move on with your life, the criminals don’t sit still for it. Dakota’s and Bailey’s literal collision into each other’s lives in a way was fate rectifying her being at the wrong place at the wrong time earlier, providing what she needed in the form of a strong sexy protector.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Dale Mayer continues to grow and develop more amazing stories in her Hero For Hire series. Dakota’s Delight is book 9 in the continuing Hero’s For Hire series. Political intrigue, corruption, greed, and murder form the backdrop that fate brings two people together.

Dakota Languor, is a fairly recent addition to Levi’s Legendary Security team. He’s a practical, supper efficient, a straight shooter, no-nonsense hard working team player. Despite team members falling in love… Dakota isn’t looking to be in a relationship, let alone fall in love. Would he even recognize love if he walked into it?

Bailey Hoskins, this fragile beauty, has suffered the lose of her husband not long into her marriage. She was starting to give up on life, under the weight of her grief and the insurmountable financial pressure of medical debts owed. Her day to day existence is meager but it keeps her going, just hanging on grimly to her day to day existence. Time, while not healing, does cause her to reevaluate along with the witnessing of a murder. She has a hidden strength that gives her independence and resiliency to overcome the obstacles life continues to throw at her. A sassy attitude to face whatever obstacles are thrown her way yet maintain a beautiful gentleness of heart and soul.
When these two people, not searching for love, literally collide into each others pathway, or in this case...oh boy! Dakota hit Bailey with his SUV! For real? Bailey ran into the path of his SUV! However love happens… this is the start of something special. A friendship develops. Bailey is on the run after witnessing a murder and Dakota… ever the practical, protective soul… places her in his immediate protective custody. Both are cautious, both not knowing love is just around the corner within their grasp, if they are willing to embrace and open themselves to new possibilities. Will both recognise this love together?

This is a fast paced story that keeps you turning pages to see this political drama and friendship/ romance unfold. Can Dakota keep his lady safe from further harm as they search for the killer? If you love romance and dramatic suspense/intrigue… what are you all waiting for? Dale Mayer delivers this and more.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy, and I'm leaving a voluntarily review.

This is the first book I have ever read by this author, but it is exactly the type of book I like to read. It is a romantic suspense about a group of retired SEALs who all live together with their families in a commune-like home. Their job seems to be a lot like it was when they were SEALs. In fact, the author calls them “Heroes for Hire.”

In this book, Dakota accidentally runs into a woman, Bailey, a widow, who runs out in the middle of the street without looking. He helps her by taking her to his commune hone so that a medic can look at her and make sure she is alright.

Bailey, eventually, tells them that she has witnessed the mayor kill somebody and was attempting to run away from the scene. As it is soon discovered, Bailey was shot in the back as she ran away.

The group of SEALs led by Levi and Ice offer the safety of their house with its intricate alarms with the many SEALs to guard everybody and everything in it. They take her into their “family,” treating her like one of their own. She is befriended by everyone, but especially by Dakota, who seems to take her “under his wing.”

There are many suspenseful moments when we are not sure what is happening, how it is happening or by whom. “They” are definitely after Bailey and “they” do not have any problem injuring or killing anyone else who stands in her way

The romance between Bailey and Dakota is light because Bailey seems to still be grieving for her late husband. Instead the author shows a lot of respect, concern and attention between these two people. In fact, they don’t actually get together until late in the book.

However, if you enjoy books where the man and woman work together and help each other, and there is no anger, disagreements or misunderstandings between the couple as much as I do, then this is the book for you!

I am looking forward to reading more books from this author, starting with the first book of this series so I can learn about this group and the men in it. Still, it is nice to know that this book easily works as a stand-alone. I was able to enjoy and understand it without having read all of the books before it.

Dakota Languor works for a business that’s more like family than a plain old day-to-day job. You can tell how much he cares for the people he works with. Bailey Hoskins shows the toll a personal tragedy can take on someone. I went through something similar and can understand what she went through. Both of them are stubborn but Dakota’s stubbornness is a good thing.

What I love about this series is that each one can be read as a standalone. So if for some reason you’ve missed a book you can pick it up later and not feel lost. Dakota shows how the company has grown so that may be one incentive to catch up before many more books for this series come out. If you love military reads that may be another incentive to give this series a try.

In this book, I wanted to know more about how Bailey got to be where she is and how she’s going to fit in with the group that make up Legendary Security. You want to know more about what makes this group tick. How they came to be and how well they work together as a team. There’s no way that you can’t miss how much they care. It’s all about good versus evil and good must win or at the very least make a dent.

Romance is nice and that’s what I’m all about but with this series I’d rather have the action, adventure, and suspense any day. I want to see how these people go about protecting each other and those that they let into their little group – which grows with each subsequent book. There’s a character, Alfred, who tends to stay in the background but he’s the glue when the group is together. Just a warning though – when Bailey ends up helping Alfred in the kitchen plan to get hungry. I could almost smell what she was cooking – ending up making my stomach growl so I had to get something to eat to get it to stop. So you see, the book has a little bit of everything that will keep you entranced. The ending was happy but what made me happy is the fact that the Epilogue gets me ready for the next book in the series.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Dakota’s Delight: Heroes for Hire: Book 9 is by Dale Mayer. This is a Seals Honor book. It is full of excitement and action as the good guys try to protect the innocent. The security company is composed of ex-military men who are still fighting to make the world a better place for the innocent.
Dakota Languor has driven into town to run errands for Legendary Security, the security company he works for. He was almost finished with his errands when it suddenly started raining very hard. He turned off the main street to a side street to be safer and a lady darted out in front of him and he ran into her. Of course, he immediately stopped to find out how she was but she ran off. He could see she was injured so he went after her. She snuck into a restaurant but he followed. He sat at her table and they talked. He bought her dinner. She finally tried to sneak out without him; but he intercepted her to take her home. She eventually told him she had witnessed a murder and had recognized the mayor. He told her to write out what she remembered and he would take her to the police. Before he could take her, he found out she had been shot. He took her to the hospital where they called the police. Because she didn’t have anyone to help her, he was going to take her to the security place for the night. When they stopped for her clothes, they found her apartment had been ransacked. Once more they called Detective Mannford and reported this. He took her out to the Security complex where she would be safe. Or would she? Would they find her there? Could Dakota protect her?
This book was well-written and the excitement kept you glued to the book as you wondered what was going to happen next. The romance is very low-keyed yet it is definitely there. I highly recommend this book and plan to read more in the series.

I truly enjoyed reading Dakota’s Delight! It is a fast paced action novel that is very entertaining despite avoiding excessive violence or graphic content.
I appreciated that the protagonists are defined more from their personalities and behaviour than from their physical traits. This surely requires more work on the writer’s side, but it is definitely worth the effort, resulting in lively, vivid and captivating characters.
Dakota, the male hero, is a classic: ex-military, brave, protective but sweet and (finally!) not excessively overbearing.
I also loved the heroine character. Bailey lost her husband of 6 months to cancer and went through a phase of depression. Nonetheless, she was able to find the inner strength to react to this tragedy and fight to build a new life.
When she witnesses a murder, and her life is upset once again, she comes out of her shell and proves to be a resourceful, witty, brave and smart individual instead of retreating into herself and giving up to fear and despair.
The scenes when she re-discovers her passion for cooking and her lively conversations with Alfred are little lovely cameos.
The side characters, aka the protagonists of the previous books in the series, are a welcome contour to Dakota’s and Bailey interactions and a very good complement to the story.
While the technicalities of professional security are often naive, these are not instrumental to the overall atmosphere of the book, which remains enjoyable and fast paced.
The fact that the author avoids excessive violence makes Dakota’s Delight an entertaining, light-hearted read, perfect for a pleasant evening or a cozy weekend.

Dakota is out picking up supplies for the compound that he lives in when a young woman runs out in front of his truck, but when he tries to see about any injury, she runs away. He can't just let her go without knowing if she's hurt, so he follows her. And this is where their lives get really dicey. Bailey has been recovering from the death of her husband, financially & emotionally, when she witnesses a murder, tried to get away, which led to getting hit by a vehicle. And as Dakota draws facts out of her, it quickly becomes apparent that she's in a lot more danger than she believes, so he talks her into coming home with him, so his team can protect her. Bailey isn't a woman who takes help, but she has no other choice but to accept, as the murderer knows where she lives. But will she stay alive long enough for her white knight to steal her heart? WOW! Dakota's Delight was a FANTASTIC story that I couldn't get enough of. It had my heart racing more than that first cup of coffee this morning, so I devoured it in one sitting. This is the first time that I've read Dale Mayer, and OMG, I'm so glad I did, because her insanely talented writing style instantly became a new addiction, as I'm chomping at the bit to read each & every previous book immediately. Dakota was a bad a** hero that was ridiculously HOT, while Bailey was awesome as well! And that entertaining cast of secondaries kept me laughing hard, and now I need to know all of their stories ASAP! The twists & turns were explosive, which had me dropping f-bombs loud and proud all over the place. I CANNOT WAIT to read more, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I like SEAL/military based romance books, and so when I was asked if I would like to read this book I said yes, as I've read the authors paranormal book Protocols so whY did I think of Dakota and Bailey's book?

It was easy to get into this book even tho it's number 9 in the series, the author has written the book in a way that is easy for first time readers to jump into the Legendary group.

in this book we have a widow named Bailey who is recovering from the loss of her husband, she retreated from life. Going to work and coming home was the extent of her days and weeks. Until she walks into work early one morning, witnesses a murder and flees into traffic, nearly getting killed.

The near death experience awakens the spark of life inside of her. So does the man in the car... Dakota, out on a supply run, Dakota won't leave Bailey until he knows she's ok, but when she collapses he takes charge, there's something about Bailey that captured his heart.
When Dakota and his team of ex military personnel who work for Ice and Levi who own Legendary security services they discover who Bailey saw in the alley, and it's going to take evidence to prove who the killer is and keep Bailey safe.
It's a steady storyline where Dakota and Bailey find their mutual feelings for each other grow as they deal with the situation. the other team members are introduced well, and you are not left wondering who everyone is, which is good.
I'll be checking out the other books in the series.

*** this review is my honest opinion and I have not been requested or gained any monies to review the book ***

Dakota's Delight- Heroes for Hire

This is another fabulous action packed romance in the Heroes for Hire series with Dakota having a woman run into his car get up and kept going as he chased after her to see if she was okay because she went limping away. Little did he know that Bailey was running away from men that were chasing her because she witnessed them killing someone in front of her. She recognized one of them as being the mayor and she did not realize they had tried to shoot her. When Dakota caught up with her in the pouring rain he convinced her to go get something to eat. Later he noticed her back was wet and took her to the compound because she had been shot in the back by the men. This is the beginning of this exciting story as Legendary Security does everything in their power to protect her as men even break into the compound to get her. In the meantime Dakota was falling in love with her but was keeping his distance as Bailey had lost her husband eighteen months ago and was healing from her injuries. In the end she convinced him she is healed and over her grief so they could start a relationship. Legendary Security with the police caught the mayor after he was going around killing people and was brought to justice. Dakota and Bailey were also ready to start her new life at the compound and she was a chef so she could help Alfred. I am looking forward to the next fantastic release in this amazing series with them bringing in new recruits to work for Levi's security family.

Action, suspense, drama, intrigue, and yes, an All-American boy, muscled and tanned, Dakota. He everything that makes a delicious book boyfriend, protector, alpha. The SEALs for hire have returned and this time we get Dakota and his mishap that could have ended differently without his alertness.

We are back this time with one heroine that looks one way and most certainly is a different way. She looks the role of a soft, fragile woman, but with all that life has thrown her way she has the heart of a lion. She gets a jolt of life one morning after going in to work a bit early and seeing way more than she ever expected. She allows the adrenaline of things to run her straight into the street and the arms of Dakota. She found protection from the world in the arms of a very capable man and his team.

Dale Mayer gives another page turning adventure. Excitement. Chemistry. Action. Intrigue. Romance. This one has the goods and there was no shortage of good characters with one intense plot. If you have read one of the series most certainly pick this one up. It adds to the action, drama, intensity and suspense of the series. If you are new then pick it up anyway and get started on a series that keeps you coming back for more.

Dakota is running errands for the compound when a women runs out in front of his truck. With rain coming down as it was he was lucky he didn't hit her hard. The surprising thing is she ran away from him refusing help. Dakota if course is having none of that and follows her.

Bailey doesn't want to tell him anything, but when he ends up taking her home she felt safer about not being overheard. What she tells him leads to him taking a closer look at her injuries and he discovers she had indeed been shot. Her stumbling most likely saved her life.

A hospital visit, a word with a detective Ice sends, and a couple more errands later has them arriving at the compound. Ice quickly gets her settled and everyone gets to work while she rests.

Lots of action in this one as the compound once again gets infiltrated. Taking down the man responsible for all this is complicated.

The close confines has Bailey helping Alfred out in the kitchen and making friends with the other women who live there.

Her relationship with Dakota also starts heating up, I do love a great simmer to sizzle.

The next book in this series was actually part of the first Silver SEALs Series and I've already read and reviewed it so the next one up will be Tyson's Treasure.

I can't get enough of these Heroes for Hire books by Dale Mayer and this one is no exception, getting Dakota's story and the strong woman, Bailey, who completes him. What I love about this story (as with the others) there's no silly drama, some suspense, action, an attraction between the two and of course a woman who is kind, compassionate and strong in her own way and an ex SEAL who will do anything to protect his woman. Dakota is strong in his own way but he is also patient and sensitive to Bailey's needs and is willing to wait till she knows for sure that she is ready to move on, but keeping her close and protected, making her feel safe and comfortable while they take on a corrupt politician and his goons. Not only that but all the people that surround them, knowing there is something special between them before they even realize it, stepping in and protecting each other and supporting like a family....a great big happy family that keeps adding members into their fold with each member unique and special in their own way....LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and I can't wait for more !!!!

Dakota Languor, a former Seal now working for Legendary Security, is on a run for various supplies when a heavy rain makes things a bite tricky to maneuver. Suddenly a woman darts in front of his car. The weather conditions make it impossible to stop on time. Bailey Hoskins, a recent widow, is clipped by the car. Dakota gets out to make sure she's ok. Bailey claims she's fine but cuts the conversation short and runs away. Dakota can tell something is wrong so he follows her. Finding her in a restaurant he joins her where they talk and share a meal. After taking her home he discovers she's been shot.

Bailey has seen a crime take place and was witnessed. Now she's running from the bad guys and lucky for her the man she literally runs into someone who can help her. She is taken to the Legendary compound for protection.

Will Dakota and the security team be able to help? Will she be saved from the bad guys? Can the team help Bailey in more ways then protection ?

This is a short read with strong characters and a good plot. There's action, suspense and romance. Plus the cinnamon buns part will have you rolling on the floor.

This is an ARC review.

>Book review – Heroes for Hire: Dakota’s Delight

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 9th in the Heroes for Hire series and ends in an HEA. Dakota is part of the ex-Special Forces team that lives together in a compound in Texas. He goes to town to get supplies and hits a woman who darts in front of his truck. Unable to believe she is really okay, he follows her and finds out she witnessed a high-profile murder and needs protection.

>Bailey is a widow who has distanced herself from life. She has no one to lean on. When Dakota offers his help, she accepts the help and then finds she likes the lifestyle of the compound and Dakota. These 2 tend to tip toe around each other. Bailey is seriously injured and a widow. Dakota thinks she is still in mourning.

>A majority of the team makes an appearance in this book. It is always fun to revisit old favorite characters. There is a lot of action and suspense, which keeps the pages turning. The romance is one of the more understated romances in this series, but the story is definitely worth reading. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the book 5 stars.

Book 9 of the heroes for hire series by Dale Mayer and like the others before it I loved it. I had read most of the others within the series and was really excited to read this one.

Dakota has a list he must get when he literally runs into a young girl she refuses his help at first but then he follows her. He finds she is a little more hurt than he first thought and gets permission to take care of her.

Bailey's life is up in the air as she still grieves for the husband she lost and feels her life is over as well. She is on her way to work when she witness a murder. Running off she literally crashes into a SUV. The rest that follows is a story of survival and protecting Bailey from a man who wants her dead. Can Dakota keep her safe long enough to have a life she deserves?

This was a great addiction to the heroes for hire series and had the right amount of suspense, reading and wanting to know who it was that wanted her dead, then holding my breath as others get injured. I really can't wait for book 10. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy

This is the first book I've read in this series...and hmm.

Bailey is on the run after witnessing a murder and gets bumped (lightly) by Dakota in his SUV. And he realizes she's in trouble and brings her to their compound. And then bad guys are after her and Dakota and his friends save the day and make the bad man go away.

I guess Dakota has a serious hero complex, offering a person he just met, shelter and protection. In a short span of time, they fall in love with each other while solving the mystery of who was killed and why and evading the attempts on Bailey's life. Huh. I felt like I missed something there as there wasn't enough interaction (for me) to warrant falling in love.

I get the mystery, the intrigue. It's interesting enough. I don't buy their love story. I guess I needed more details or interaction. Insta-love isn't what I know this author's stories are known for. So this book is just ok for me.

I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Bailey is a widow who is still dealing with the loss of her husband to cancer. She has worked herself ragged to pay off the medical debts and the last thing she needs to do is witness a murder that will throw her life into turmoil once again.

Dakota is a member of the Security team and has been sent into town to run errands and pick up supplies. He hits Bailey with his vehicle, or should we way Bailey hits him, and seeing her injured is unable to just leave her alone despite her protests.

He brings her back to the base to recover however the people involved in the murder are very influential. As they spend time together friendship becomes more but when danger comes calling will Dakota and the team be able to protect her and everyone else on the team?

I liked both these characters as Bailey is so strong and takes whatever life throws at her and Dakota is so protective. This is another great story by this author filled for suspense, action, twists and romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Although I haven't finished reading this book (currently at chapter 8), I am really enjoying it. I have read all of Dale's books in the Psychic Visions series and some of her earlier Seal's of Honer books. This book doesn't jump straight into intense action but builds slowly and shows the family that now lives in the compound and how they work as a cohesive unit even in their personal lives. Because I haven't kept up with the Seal's of Honor series, I needed the backtrack writeup in CH 1 as we are introduced to Dakota. There are still a few holes in the history/backtrack of the series which makes it evident that the reader would benefit from reading the books in order even though each book is a standalone.
The occupants of the compound take on Bailey and her problem because Dakota hit her with his truck as she is fleeing for her life after witnessing a murder. She is quickly accepted and assisted. Things are starting to heat up and threats are made. I can't wait to finish this book. I will update my review after I finish reading it.
I received this book as an ARC for my review.

Fleeing a horrific crime scene in the rain, Bailey hardly even noticed that she ran straight into traffic. Dakota noticed, however, and immediately follows her to make sure she's alright. Soon he realizes the extent of the danger she's in, and she quickly realizes that being hit by Dakota's SUV was the best thing that could have happened. Dakota takes her to safety and the entire Legendary Security team is called upon to protect this witness until the murderer is brought to justice.

This was a sweet story with plenty of action and suspense as well as heartwarming emotional connections. Bailey is struggling to find her own purpose in life after the recent death of her husband, and her interactions with Alfred were priceless. Dakota's care and respect for her kept his heart's intentions hidden for a while, so it was gratifying when he could finally admit his feelings. I loved how quickly Bailey was accepted and integrated into the Legendary family. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Once again I’ve come in smack dab in the middle/end of a series and found something I really love! Unfortunately, there are a whole bunch more books to this series and Dale’s other series, and being a gal on disability makes it tough to complete a collection.

But, I digress. I completely loved this book, granted, I would have loved a bit more romance! Our hero, Dakota, is completing a supply run for Legendary Security, when he ends up hitting a woman with his truck in the pouring rain.

Bailey is on the run after witnessing a murder. She gets clipped by Dakota’s truck, and after trying to run, Dakota catches up to her and finds out she’s also been shot. Dakota takes her back to Legendary’s compound so that the group can protect her. But can they?

This was an absolute page turner! I could not put this down and went back and bought the first book in the series. (Ok, book two as well) I just loved the interaction between Dakota and Bailey, not to mention the rest of the crew! I absolutely Loved it!!

Dakota Langour is running errands in town for everyone at Legendary Security. He is happy working with the new team he and his best friend joined recently. The whole company is like one huge family. With most of the men finding their special woman. There must be something about the place that keeps matchmaking.
Widow Bailey Hoskins found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She does, however manage to run into exactly the man to help. This particular heroine is way out of her depth when the bullets are flying, but she is still a tough cookie.
This action packed romantic suspense is part of a dynamic series, but is easily read as a stand alone. Be warned, once you read one book from the series you will want to read them all. Our heroes are all ex navy SEALs, and go above and beyond to protect those who need it. Even the heroines are the strong and independent types.
A very exciting book from a great series.

I really enjoyed this story. I have to say Dakota was truly not what I expected though in heritage or age, but I'm still pleased. He was an excellent character. His story had so many ins and out. I would have liked to had a little more backstory for him as I think the majority of the story was on Bailey, but none the less I enjoyed it. I love that she was able to befriend Alfred. I would love to him find a lady love in the future because after all he is former military too! Bailey is so fierce. She embodies everything a Seal would want in a mate; loyalty, integrity, faithfulness, tenacious and honesty. I mean this woman stood by her husband and watched him die from cancer and then she continued on with her life even though it may not have been much, she lost everything she had including him and still she got everyday, that is strength. I love all the author's Seals books. I was given a copy of this book and volunteered to read it.
