Honestly, this book was totally predictable
Set in Chipultipe, where Chase an ex-CIA operative and now PI is sent to get a woman and her son which he later finds out was set-up by his old boss.
Instead of the woman he was looking for he finds Andi, with the kid.

Andi is another operative he worked with three years ago and was attracted to and later found out was sent to spy on him and his partner, his partner ended up getting killed and he kind of blames her.

I read this story with mixed feelings. I was looking forward to Margaret Watson’s telling of Chase Remington’s story, but I also knew this was the last published story of the series & hated to see it end. As with the other stories in the series, this story starts with the Prologue telling the same incident from Chase’s perspective, but then this story stands on its own.

Although I didn’t feel as strong a connection with Chase & Andi from the beginning as I did with the H/h in the other stories, t
