Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I always feel a bit bad, when I promise to review a book and I didn't like the book. I will be honest, though. This book was not for me. I do believe this book is more appropriate for maybe young teens (age 14-15). There were too many parts of this book that I didn't like, even though the writing wasn't that bad!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. When you guys are reading this, it will actually have just been released the day before, so its perfect timing if you want to go out and get yourself a copy!

This is a YA Sci-Fi novel, is 260 pages long and I gave it 2 stars.

Today, I’m going to start with what I didn’t like just so I can get it over and done with. Basically, I didn’t particularly love any of the love interests and there were a few too many of them (a

The “Time-Bender” is a quirky young adult sci-fi story with a cast of loveably flawed dorks (in the best way possible). The book follows the main character, Selina, as she makes a wish for a boyfriend. At sixteen, she’s a social outcast, her skin has a blue-ish tinge, and she has ADP which essentially means she avoids most people, think extreme introvert. The only one able to break through her shell is her lifelong friend

I read this book several days ago but needed time to really think about it before posting my review. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this book. Was it entertaining? Yes. Did it keep me reading and wanting to see what happens next? Yes. So, why am I not completely sure how I feel about The Time Bender? I'll explain.

As an adult, who has read TONS of books, I had a hard time with a few things. I'll get to those in a minute. If I had read this when I was about 13-14 I would have loved it and n

Honestly, I was prepared to write it off as an alien version of "that vampire trilogy" on a galactic scale. BUT... I'm glad I didn't.

Quick summary...
Two alien guys (Coreg and Marcum) vie for the attention and ultimately control of our earthbound time bender. Surprise, it's a girl! Distraction much? Good news, it may serve her well; bad news, there are other forces at work here that the fellas don't even realize. Dun dun dun... save the girl or save their world... well, it's a debate for ONE of t

An odd little alien romance that’s pretty well-suited for the target audience.

Tasked with abducting a human time-bender, aliens Marcum and Coreg get much more than they bargained for. Competition, sleeper-aliens, and the threat of other, more dangerous aliens keep these characters on their toes while they navigate through their feelings.

And a love-triangle. Beneath the sci-fi exterior, there was a very familiar romance formula. It was done better than most, though. Overdone, but not inherently

Having read other Debra Chapoton books, I was very pleased when she gave me a copy of The Time Bender. It did not disappoint. I’m anxiously looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

When Selina, a girl that is going through some serious outcast issues at school because of her unexplained physical and emotional maladies, is suddenly given attention by two handsome new foreign exchange students, she becomes completely conflicted.
Thankfully she has her long time best friend and protector, A

Selina Langston does not fit in at school. She is awkward in more ways than one. She is grateful for her best friend Alex who keeps on eye out for her and her brother. She hopes to end her boyfriend-less streak. When two exchange students come to her school her chances of getting a boyfriend go up. Marcum and his travel companion are there to kidnap Selina. Selina has a special ability to bend time that will help them when the galactic war they are in. Its a race against time to get the time ben ...more

I think teenagers will enjoy this novel even if they're not much into science fiction. Even though it abounds with many of the YA tropes we love to hate--the love triangle, the girl who think she's not much but is actually pretty and comes into her own when a hot dude notices her, the friend-zoned bestie who secretly digs her, absentee parents, the "chosen one" who's the only one who can save the planet, and maybe some others I'll think of later. But somehow, it all works because the story doesn ...more

A fun and easy to read sci-fi story for the young adult reader

If you like teenage romance mixed with an alien intergalactic conflict then you will enjoy this story. Selina who is anxiously looking for her first boyfriend finds her chances improve when two handsome exchange students enters her life. Little did she know Coreg and Marcum where literally from another planet. That’s when things get interesting. Selina is now drawn into a conflict she did not want. Now she must use her skills as a tim

I was given this book for free by the author in exchange for my honest review. I actually liked it. I thought it was an interesting concept. I like books about time travel and this is not the first I've reviewed from Ms. Chapoton. I loved her others as well. She writes, for the most part, in first person, which I like. And her characters always have a bit of a smart alec sense of humor, which I love. It's clean and appropriate for teens and up. I'd allow my daughter to read it...and I'm 'one of ...more

Good story

It's a dramatic journey for Selina in this YA sci-fi book, and she has a choice to make, a hard one. The writing is well done and I liked the characters, who have great connection with each other, and a depth. There is not a one-size-fits all with this sci-fi book, and there is more than the destruction of the earth that could be pending. It's a story that takes the reader on a journey in hopes to reach that plateau of peace and action.

A quirky, humorous, teen love rival, sci-fi mixed read with some aliens on a secret mission in the middle of a war searching for a time bender to help them thrown in for good measure.

Selina has always felt different but it isn’t until two mysterious exchange students come onto the scene that she starts to see things in a different light. Maybe she isn’t as strange as she first thought. Or more to the point maybe it’s just that she needed to go somewhere where she really belongs.

Delightful teen sci-fi romance, the author hits her target audience perfectly. I'd buy for my teen cousin in a heartbeat and I think she'd love it. Very cute alien take on the nerdy girl, popular guy, and childhood friend love triangle.

Debra's latest novel, THE TIME BENDER, is the first in a 4 book series that pits a teen girl with a social disorder against two cute and clever aliens who aren't quite as human as she'd like. Her previous young adult novel, THE GIRL IN THE TIME MACHINE, presents a brand new twist to time travel. Earlier novels, EXODIA and OUT OF EXODIA, are post-apocalyptic American retellings of an epic event. A ...more
