After the battle with Katharine, the rebellion lies in tatters. Jules’s legion curse has been unbound, leaving her out of her mind and unfit to rule. Arsinoe must find a cure, even as the responsibility of stopping the ravaging mist rests heavy on her shoulders, and her shoulders alone. Mirabella has disappeared.

Queen Katharine’s rule over Fennbirn remains intact—for now.

Since Five Dark Fates was announced a year ago, a lot of my people, including myself, were anticipating the finale while wanting to know who will be the one true queen.

With the book finally released, does Five Dark Fates give us a great finale, or does it suffer from being a dull finale?

Sadly, for me, it's the latter.

Five Dark Fates sets up the story and characters to conclude the ongoing threat against Katherine, the rebels, and the Mist surrounding Fennbrin. Major obstacles are in the

Hoboy. Where do we even begin with this?

I thought I'd be nice and start with the positives. Most of them had to do with the expectations, predictions, and questions [[which you can read at the end of this review]] that I had for this book. Unfortunately, even the positive points came with an execution that I found lacking, making it difficult for me to count them

i can’t believe this series is over. i’m gonna miss it.

I think this finale book will be very polarizing for every reader who liked the Three Dark Crowns series until then: either it was what you wanted or it wasn't. Yes, there will be 3 stars ratings like always, but I think that mostly we have the ones who will give it 4 stars: good finale, makes sense, it was what they expected from the conclusion and the ones like me giving it 2 stars: we really li

Bring on Five Dark Fates! ✨

26TH OCT 2018: Okay, after having a think, Four Dark Queens is most likely to mirror the triplets and Jules. However, I could also see this being called Five Dark Queens. It wouldn't make sense with the title numbering, as there's been One, Two and Three already, so naturally Four would follow, BUT consider also that Illian will play a big part in #4, and that makes five queens.

Either way still H Y P E.

So I will start out by saying, if you haven’t read the first three novels in the Three Dark Crowns series, you should probably choose a different article to read (but definitely come back to this one once you have). Unless of course you don’t mind getting a brief overview of the plot of the last 1300ish pages of narrative that doesn’t give away the fine intricacies of the novels. Even then, you should still read the previous novels…

*sigh* a very, very soft ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐for the final farewell of our favorite trio of queens. I may end up rounding down if I sit on this review for too long.

This has not been a good year for endings in general as most series with last books published in 2019 for me have been total flops. At least with Five Dark Fates I can say this is an ending that I can live with. While I may not have particularly enjoyed certain aspects of Kendare Blake’s plot/character choices I think for the most part fans will no

Five Dark Fates was one of my most anticipated, if not my most anticipated book of this year, so I was beyond the moon to read it. I am so, so happy to report that it did not disappoint! I flew through this book in under 48 hours. This series is just so compulsive readable. You find yourself flipping the pages because the pacing is so strong and steady, while it builds and builds to the conclusion.

I definitely had a book hangover this one and had to step back for a few days before writing my rev

I hope it will be called something like “Last Dark Rule” or something epic! I wonder if Jules really will be a Queen or if it will end becoming a democracy i wouldn’t be totally against it but i wish it would remain with a monarch. Constitutional Monarchy?

*UPDATED* I decided to lower my score because with each passing day this book just seems to go down on my consideration

I am many plot lines gone to many lost opportunites...
I feel like the third book sets up a story that feels forgotten and quickly and badly taken care of in this volume...It doesn't seem like an ending at all

I was expecting something brutal and mindblowing but I can point 5 main story plots in this book and that's all!!

The writing is good and I do ch

If you look at the shield/crest on the cover it has a symbol that could represent each of the gifts. The skull with snakes (possibly representing Arsinoe), the lightning bolt (most likely Mirabella or perhaps Daphne or Illian), the shield and swords (most likely Jules), a mountain cat (also could be Jules because of Camden or Katharine because of her true gift) and an eye in the middle (an oracle who we may yet to be introduced to). The saving of the island could require each of the gifts workin ...more

A worthy finale to a fantastic series!

Although parts of this book were slow, Blake didn’t hold back when it came to surprises. I was constantly blindsided. The ending was explosive, and each character had a fitting end. The politics, as usual, were top-notch.

The end is always bittersweet, and I’m sad to see this series at its close. But I’m happy that it ended so well!

Can’t wait for the book.
I want Katherine (which is always the worst and villain) dies in this book. She must be die to pay for what she had done in the past books.
I am not sure if Mirabella or Arsinoe should be the queen. Maybe they can rule together.

I am a big TDC fan. The first and second books were great, the third was meh. But THIS WAS HORRIBLE! IT RUINED THE WHOLE SERIS AS ONE BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

I was super exicted for this book. I drove all the way to my B+N as soon as it came out I dove into it, expeting another great, perfect TDC. I was WRONG! This ruined the entire seris forever, and all the charecter, especilly Pietyer. It is unsaftifing. Now, I know some may think this is just some hillibillie's opoinion.
