I received an ARC of Blood Runs Cold for a book tour of the series, The Cases of Lt DeLong. With a dark history between his estranged brother, Sullivan (Sully), and himself, Jim Delong finds himself neck deep in the murder of his sister-in-law, Bree, who ironically worked with troubled teens. Ironic because the prime suspect is Jim's own brother and their guilt over their pasts as troubled teenagers makes for another emotionally gripping thriller by author Angela Kay.

The second case of Lt DeLong

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I have given Blood Runs Cold by Angela Kay five out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really, really, REALLY enjoyed this book! This was exactly the suspension, crime investigating story I needed. From the very beginning of this novel I was absolutely hooked and found it very difficult to put the book down.
The characters were very well-developed and I really enjoyed learning about each character's background, especially when the author started to ...more

First, I want to thank Angela Kay for providing this book for me so I can bring you this review.

As many of you know I pride myself in honest reviews and I stay true to my word with this one. Originally when I was given this book its title was The Murder of Manny Grimes by Angela Kay. However, as I got into the book Manny Grimes was NEVER mentioned. The person in the book I was reading was Bree. Needless to say, I was totally confused and thrown off. After speaking with the author, it turns out I

**Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie for my reading pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement.**

Blood Runs Cold is the second book following Lieutenant Jim Delong. The books don’t denote that they’re connected so I’m glad I made sure to read in the order of publishing. Jim’s life has seemed to stabilize in this story. He and his wife seem to have worked things out, but with the murder of his sister-in-law, new elements of family drama are added to Jim’s life. I tho

This picks up about two years after the first book and DeLong is starting to get his life back on solid ground. His marriage is strong and he is beating one of his demons. But his world is turned upside down when he is called to investigate a murder and the victim is his sister in law Bree.

This sends him into having to deal with his past and the dark secrets he has kept for years while having to confront his brother who hates him. And the tension in those meetings can be cut with a knife. Delong

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Blood Runs Cold is the second book in The Cases of Lieutenant DeLong. I liked the first book but this one was even better. It starts with the murder of Jim DeLong’s sister-in-law and he’s allowed to be the lead in the case even though he’s related.

DeLong and his brother, Sullivan aka Sully, are estranged because of guilt they feel from some things that happened when they were te

This second case of Lieutenant DeLong has just as many twists and turns as the first one, only this one brings it closer to home for our endearing Lieutenant. Once again, Kay has given us a book that is very well written and the story is both emotional and gripping, especially when DeLong's past comes back to haunt him. This series is a bit reminiscent of John Sandford's Prey series in that the author has created a character that is far from perfect, but still someone to root for as he doggedly ...more

I've read Ms. Kay last novel, The Murder of Manny Grimes, and I loved it. Now she's back with her latest crime fiction novel, Blood Runs Cold. Ms. Kay has a knack for creating twisted plots that will keep you glued to your Kindle. Blood Runs Cold -- I love the title by the way --is a top-notch suspense thriller, and I highly recommend it. ...more

Equipped with a professional writing degree from Augusta State University, Angela Kay always had the imagination and passion of a writer. She has written many, many short stories in her lifetime, most of which won't ever see the light of day!

During college, her playwright professor had urged her to submit her one-act play to a 2009 playwright contest. To her shock and glory, she was one of 23 acro
