This book was enjoyable to read because it shows a large range of life that can be seen on a beach or in the ocean. I think this book would make a great introductory book for marine biology. The illustrations are well done and the story takes you all around the ecosystem.

I enjoyed the lyrical text as well as the beautiful illustrations. It's got a lot of great education information at the end, too. For older children, I think it would be great to do a first read through where they can enjoy the language and imagery--and then discuss the information at the end and do a second read through where you talk about what's going on in the pictures.
A great choice for anyone who loves the ocean and beaches of the eastern US coast.

I adore this book. The story is great for storytime or one on one reading. The illustrations are very nice, and the book is is a great size. If you are reading to a group, everyone will be able to see the pictures.

My kids really enjoyed this. The illustrations were marvelous, but the text was only okay. It was a lovely book to look at and read through once or twice, but I won't be repeating it for further studies.

This book has nice pictures, but the text is lacking. It could work with themes such as seeing, ocean, sky, animals, and ecosystems. Kids could be involved in the story by guessing what different things see based on the pictures.

Beautiful illustrations of ocean & shore ecosystems that kids will love to examine over and over again. Also, a great mentor text to teach primary students about the use of perspective in their writing.

This book had vivid vocabulary and amazing illustrations. The perspective in regards to above and below the sea was another positive facet.
