This text presents a visual essay on Namibia, the country, its peoples and its wildlife. Photographs provide an overview and are complemented by an introduction that establishes historical perspective and offers insight into the realities of a country moving into a challenging future.
What a gorgeous book! It is a coffee table style book that I read and absorbed front cover to last page. The writing style is informative and nuanced without being bland or cookie cutter. The photos are gorgeous and seem to capture a soulfulness. (I notice the first publishing of this book is 1992 so understand why it does not delve more deeply into what has more recently been deemed a genocide of two tribes that make up a portion of modern day Namibians by the Germans in the early 1900s.) Excited to visit this country in person now.
