The Mysterious Reader
The Empowered series is really science fiction at its best. Grittily realistic, with flawed but strong heroes and villains that act in a manner that has some rationality to it, no matter how evil, and who are the total opposite of pushovers, a fantastic supporting cast and a plot that is clearly progressing while at the same time becoming both layered and convoluted while somehow remaining understandable. It’s book 3, Empowered: Outlaw, maintains all those characteristics yet somehow, incredibly ...more

This book is a brilliant read. Mat has more family problems, mostly worrying about her sister Ella, and also is struggling with new emotions. She is still taking on the role of protector and encounters a very insidious individual who gave me the creeps. The story and the characters are well-written and just pull you in until suddenly, the book is finished and it's nearly time to get up for work! Dale's imagination is amazing and this is a series that is like no others I have read.

Dale Ivan Smith has done it again. This series just keeps getting better. I love this story line. The bad guys always have very impressive powers which is why their defeat is all the better. Mat is just as strong as ever and she is finally realizing just how important it is to get all that anger under control and not let it rule her and her actions. I am so happy that Alex and Mat are getting together, Yay. I can’t wait for the next installment. It is definitely worth reading. I absolutely loved ...more

Another amazing installment in the Empowered series. As with books 1 & 2 the Author weaves a fast paced tale with exciting characters who posess uncommon and interesting talents. In each book the reader learns more about Mat and you cannot help but become invested in her. At the core she is just trying to do what is best for her and her family. This series is a must read for all sci-fi & supernatural fans. I look forward to seeing where the Author takes this story in the next book.

Mathilda Brandt Finds Love . . .

Even though she wasn't looking for it. Which seems a fairly common occurrence for many people. However, love may have to wait until she saves her sister, best friend, and potential lover from the clutches of Support and a mind bending Empowered intent on creating her own Kingdom of Empowered and Imbued from followers.

This one started out a bit slow in my opinion, but the ending more than made up for it
I hope that this series will continue soon as the ending left a lot of scope for what might happen next

Reading this is like being entranced, searching for something to make sense of it all.
To see the greater good, to trust the ones close and to try to help as many people as possible.

Mathilda isn’t completely selfless but human. She has powers and hates to bring harm to plants or people.
This time she has help through her visions and her conscience.
Another great story!

I received a free copy and this is my honest and voluntary review

This was a great instalment in the series, full of constantly changing relationships, twists and turns in the action and adventure, and kept you hooked from beginning to end. I continue to love Mat and how she's trying her best to help those she loves and everyone in need, even those who may not deserve her help sometimes. Her relationship with Keisha is great - 2 bad-as*ed bi**hs, as Mat might say - and her new relationship with Alex is really heartwarming too. A definite must-read for all Empo ...more
